Good Morning!!!! Already 77F @ 6:45AM. Plentiful sunshine. Near record high temperatures. High 108F. Winds light and variable.
10-day says we'll pick up another couple of degrees tomorrow, then down to the high 90s by mid week, then back up over the century mark for the rest of the period. Ugh.

How were the road conditions on the Turnpike, Drew? Did you at least get a smooth ride?

Izat a legendary Gold Star, Rich? Local BMW dealer has one on display that the dearly departed owner used to race off road. He was quite a character.

Beer store rainbow reminds me of the drive through carry out that used to be next to the laundromat my dad usta run. Do they even have drive through carry outs these days?

Still working the house deal, and finally got a copy of the contract for the solar power system on the place. Turns out it's only a year old, and was put in by SunRun, sold through Costco. 3.6 kW of panels, one inverter, and a Tesla Power Wall rated at about 13 kW. Warranties run between 10 and 25 years, all transferable. I've asked to see power bills to determine if the system is offsetting 100% of grid use, and the one True Up statement they've had. It should, as the climate there is much cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter than it is here. For some reason they are reluctant to share, even though they're asking me to assume a $41k second mortgage they took out to pay for the system, which they say also paid for a new roof for which I can find no record of a building permit. The math makes it look like the electricity bill is locked in at about $0.20/kWhr, but only if you live that long. And since you only pay while you're alive, it'll be somebody else's problem if I don't make it. We modified our offer to extend it another day and require the requested documentation during the discovery period once escrow opens. That's as much as I'm willing to do on this one, so will or won't happen by the end of the day. They had an open house yesterday, and two more are scheduled for today and tomorrow. I think they'd rather sell to someone that doesn't ask so many questions...

Too hot to do much of anything outside yesterday, but I did get in a little afternoon snooze. Then beat heck out of a skirt steak and burned it on the grill for a while. Did I mention the new place has a Santa Maria style wood fired BBQ kitchen on the back porch, the kind with the grill on chains and a big wheel on the side to raise and lower it? And what looks like a cord of oak stacked up against the fence on one side. No fireplace inside, though, but a great spot in the great room to park a wood stove.

Hope everyone enjoys the weekend!

Good Morning
It’s already 80, dew point is 73 so it’s humid. High in the 90’s with a chance of thunder storms.

Yesterday was a good day. A friend and my son were here in the morning, we all flew RC planes. I saw a rainbow like I have never seen before, I’m sure it was a product of the unstable airmass and spotty showers, but it was interesting.

Spent most of the rest of the day in the shop doing the detail work on the speaker.

Had to make a new batch of input plates as well.

Had a productive rehearsal last night, next time we get together will be on stage. I took the easy route and picked up pizzas to feed the boys, but it was a busy day.

Today I’m going to help my son clean up some tree damage, supposed to go to a notary and transfer the title to a Jeep CJ5 that I sold a decade ago. It’s not even the same person that I sold it to, but we are all friends. I had no idea that it was still titled to me.

Not sure what else I’ll get into, but I’m sure I won’t be napping on the couch.

yes
I can see charging a 40 ton truck some serious tolls to maintain that road, but I only weigh 14k, or about two fully loaded pickups.
I'm guessing this is double the car rate plus who knows
at least in Western PA they have paved the road. Ohio part was smoothest of all.
Our toll roads charge per axle.

88/99 out, off came the shirt with a splat.
Lawn all mowed, watered veggies, need to go back out and pick my daily cherry tomatoes.
But I was overheated and dripping and said enough
This time I used the push trimmer all over the property and in this heat, that's a good workout.
well actually a pretty mild one but that's my limit...

Popgadget, do you advertise in trade journals or do your orders come from word of mouth only?
I know you do different sizes with different woofers.

Morning all, 83 going to 88 and sunny.
Did not finish up at work until almost 1am, but did get a walk in yesterday morning in town.
They are surveying the bridge btw New Hope PA and Lambertville NJ for a restore next year.

Wow RNG that outdoor kitchen looks nice, would be a good place for a TBN get together :)

Be well,

Good morning, 84 going to 91 today with thunder storms late in the FC. Same as yesterday and we did not get any rain only a few drops

Wife's easy chair that she uses all the time stopped working so tilted it up and checked it out. Fortunately just a plug had come off.

No PT today. Rest day

Went back to working on the pressure washer and have it assembled again. Greased the sealed bearings by getting under the lip. They rotate with some resistance now indicating full of grease. Had to use old O rings for cylinder heads. Hope it works. Lost the M6 by 1 screws for the shaft to motor connection. The old box with screws had a couple that are too long. Will shorten them

Ordered the Makita String trimmer and string

Back to stacking wood time permitting

78F and sunny @ 10:30, temp rapidly rising, DP 65F, HU 63%, AQI 48. Calling for a high temp of 87F today with scattered thunderstorms developing later this afternoon. Chance of rain 60% ... (y)

Enjoying my 1st cup.

Got monofilament fencing untied and taken down yesterday, Woman rolled up line ... which was a PITA apparently. Got thinking about that as She was finishing, told Her we should probably have used my Shakespeare bait casting reel ... would have made it a lot easier.

"Now ya tell me ..."

Changed out the bags on the 3 Japanese beetle traps, pretty good haul:

IMG_2854 copy.jpg

Seeing quite a few buzzing around outside the kitchen window, may need to relocate one of the traps in the front yard over to the west side and move the other one out to the center of the front yard.

Ran out to Save-a-lot and picked up 3 gallons of vinegar for Woman to use as weed killer.

Swung by Dunkin and grabbed a medium iced coffee with cream and sugar + butter pecan and picked up a piece of iced lemon cake as a treat for The Woman.

After that I stopped at the Circle K and got 4 gallons of diesel and 4 gallons of gas in cans.

Last stop on way home was Fisherman's Central where I picked up another spool of 40 lb mono (the real reason I went out in the first place)

Refueled Cub and Kubota when I got back.

Hauled bags of Japanese beetles up to the can at the road so they wouldn't be stinking things up down around the house.

Woman headed over to neighbor's for a haircut around that time, said if I cooked up the remaining bacon She would make me some BLT's when She got back.

While that was simmering on the stove I sealed up the holes on the south burrow and lit off another Giant Destroyer and placed it in the main entrance. Managed to burn my hand on the fuse as I was adjusting it but got it sealed up. Burn not too bad.

Have not seen any groundhogs today ... but I'd bet there are still some in the remaining burrows ... ;)

Woman fixed me 2 1/2 BLT's when She got back.

BLT's 2 days in a row = a little bit of Heaven here on Earth ... :giggle:

Good progress on grading/leveling garden area last evening, only thing left is one small area on the southwest corner.

Moved large step ladder out to the garden area in preparation for driving in the t-posts for the cattle panels.

Put up an expanded monofilament fence last thing before we knocked off, about 3x the size of the first one.

Had an observer while we doing that:

Plants still looking intact this morning ... (y)

Temp now up to 80F and it's sunny ... 🤬

Hope everyone has a good Saturday ... (y)
