No need for a 1"x1" safety rail on the ramps to keep mower aligned?
I've found if I go fast enough, at least over 20mph, I can leap right up there
without rails. ;)

got the new pavers in at bottom of ramp, that was easy.
finding sand wasn't; Home Depot wanted 15 bucks for 8 ounces of antislip sand.
30 bucks a pound for sand? I think not.
I'll go buy a bag of playground sand first.
Need to see if my bag of polymeric sand has turned into concrete first.

got four more 5 dollar mums to complete arrangement on front steps of house.
headed out shortly dragging the water hose, lots of thirsty plants
little cloudy now, low 70's, just lovely out

going to put base coat of spar varnish on those ramps while I look for something sandy and cheap.
perhaps the millet from the cheap bird seed...:giggle:

Drew, if you screw down some expanded metal on your ramps that will give you more than enough traction.
Bill, funny you mention that......good minds think alike
I saw this online, wondered about laying that down with a lot of something to hold it down

Good Morning to All who Celebrate! . If anyone downstream on the Juniata finds three sunburnt old men arguing in a canoe, please call the number on the bald one's back and I'll come collect them. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
How close to Mt union are you in the Juniata? Wife’s cousin is near there.

Lantern flys everywhere here.

Beautiful day, working on deck steps.
Now relaxing in chair on deck2 with smoky asleep in my lap.

67°F and 0 rain

Sophie’s EGO mower came with a dead battery. Too much time on the phone and got that resolved, then found YouTube solution and got it charged to 100%. Then some initial trials around the house. I think it will be a great addition. Never got it out of minimum power, standard speed and plenty fast. She’s gonna like it.

Neighbor came over with his new Silverado EV he got Tuesday. That truck weighs 9000 lbs. don’t think he stopped grinning whole time here.

Have to go to town this morning, bit of shopping and errands.

Canadian friends coming for dinner and H&F this afternoon.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

64F and mostly cloudy @ 12:30, calling for a high of 67F for the day.

Took Kubota up and got 3 bucket loads of wood chips to mulch around the arbs first thing yesterday, got those spread out ... mostly done at this point ... just a little fine-tuning left in a couple of spots:

Cold front came in and the promised "lake effect" rain showed up just as I was finishing that up.

Steady light rain for probably better than an hour, didn't really show on the gauge here but a nearby LWS shows they got 0.14" over the past 24 hours.

Not nearly enough but we'll take it. Will keep the grass green.

Drought monitor (updated yesterday @ 08:00) still showing us to be (only) "abnormally dry" ... so at least no worsening.

In a shady spot, over on the west side:

Next best chance for rain is this coming Wed/Thu.

Collected up one of the glyphosate sprayers which was less than 1/4 full on my way back into the house, got that refilled.

Cleaned up kitchen.

Refilled hopper and both tube feeders, also scattered some seed for the ground feeders.

Collected up the other glyphosate sprayer - which was also less than 1/4 full - on my way back into the house from doing that, currently in the process of getting that one refilled.

Not sure what all will be on agenda for today but it's a safe bet some watering will be involved at some point.

Hope everyone is having a decent TGIF ... (y)

BEF: We're further south than Mt. Union. We're about 30 minutes away from Newport, PA
m7040: Not a bad idea to girdle them with glyphosate, at least that's what Penn State Ag recommends. There are some mature locust trees in that grove that just need a little help to keep them under control, also read that Tree of Heaven is shade intolerant.

We will be camping south of Harrisburg next month.

Ran out of material working on steps, need 3 more of the 8 ft trex to finish steps.
Now snagglepuss laying on my lap, as I enjoy the deck2 in the shade. The original deck1 still in full sun.

sprayed back of house where I scrubbed yesterday with a final hose down of wet and forget, then
went to work on garage roof.
I have a lot left over if anyone needs some, including a two gallon sprayer of wet and forget solution.

now I'm tuckered out.
is the weekend here yet?
