I welcomed this weeks rain. Here in east cost Canada the hot dry summer reaked havoc. Many lost their water, forest fires roared, homes losts and restrictions from going in the forest were applied.

Perhaps I’ll catch up on my work now.

Coffee is brewing. 43° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 71° with plenty of sunshine. Got house water filters changed. Went good did not get a shower while changing like old filters. Then cleaned and greased JD mower. Took it for a test run along east fence line. Mowed like it should. Today I will do a cleanup and grease of Kubota tractor with mower on it. Then may use it to mow back field.
Yesterday's sunrise.

Good Morning All.

good morning all
feels a little chilly out there but should be another nice 70's day.
Ron has reminded me I need to do house filters today, I can start to taste the chemicals in the
shower water, a little salty or salt like coming from acid neutralizer. Tells me the third filter, the carbon one, is
used up. Not hard to change once I remember to leave a cold water faucet on to drain the line pressure.

my other project for today will be installing the shed ramps. Got two coats of poly varnish put on them with a good
heavy coat of sand mixed in. Looked a little milky going on, hope it dries clear. The polymeric sand was just fine in the bag; they
use a really good bag I guess to ship it in. But now that I've opened the bag, need to use it. It's for my front walkway and is a much
overdue "get to". Well the time has surely come to get to it. I found a small push broom so that job is on the list.

headed over to Princeton tonight to have dinner with sister and husband. They are here now in their rental townhouse for several months and will go back to California for Christmas. Both their kids and families are out there but I think they really missed their old friends in Princeton. BIL trying to get his old scull working so he can take it out on Carnegie Lake. I had some upset with my sister the last time I saw her, wondering how that will resolve itself tonight. Going to take her a tomato, squash, a poblano and a baby watermelon, all from my garden.

hope the day brings good start of the weekend. Weather is nice on East Coast so looks like a lot of outside fun.

53 delicious degrees, headed to 77.

Nice sunrise, Ron...I think that one has moved here this morning.

Scotty, your fog makes it look like a Halloween scene (just 2 months away. Hard to believe it has become the 2nd biggest "holiday" based on spend, although it is fun and brings back great memories from childhood).

Cleaned out my toolshed yesterday...first, took the generator out and ran it for about 20 or 30 minutes...make sure we are ready in case of hurricane power outage...easy to pull start, I only use propane, and I gave up on finding the right replacement battery that is sized to fit the tray when the original died. I was shocked to look at the log I keep and see it was last used on 1/3/2022 during a power outage.

Used the genny to power my air compressor and shop vac while I cleaned up the shed. Then reorganized a bit and replaced everything...the mice should be happy with a clean home (until I or our black snakes catch them).

Good Morning,
Vt, 45 to start going to 65 with sunny skies which is good because we will need that sunshine to warm things up 😉

The oldest son and his family got in around 8 pm last night, kids were all excited to see Nana, not so much to see Opa 😉 Finally got the kids to bed on the late side but they were tired.

Not sure what everyone will want to do today, I know Kathleen will want to take a ride on the boat but that may wait until tomorrow when it’s a bit warmer.

Yesterday I activated Lake St. Catherine State Park, made 22 contacts in 55 minutes, I was very impressed because that spot has mountains to the east and west. Two of those contacts were Spain and the Czech Republic with good signal reports. This of course was all done with Morse code , CW, which Steve and Sodamo know what I’m talking about 😉 I will eventually try FT8 but right now I’m having fun with my favorite mode which is CW. I’m such a traditionalist 😉 I’m back to copying 30wpm and I can get a fair amount of the text at 35wpm on W1AW code broadcasts.

To make this post legal on a tractor forum, the field will need to be mowed one more time later in September with the bush hog. But I also have the decking under the porch to replace all the boards with Trex, so that will be another fairly major project this fall. Unlike Dennis’s job this summer, I shouldn’t have to make any structural changes 🙏

Hope all have a fantastic Saturday 🙏
