/ Good morning!!!! #166,002
was disappointed to find out rv coach batteries were only group 24 aka small.
Had hoped for at least 27. Didn't look like lots of extra room in there.
will go agm instead of flooded, batteries are exposed to road crud down below, will be spraying all the rusty
spots with oil shortly. Want to test them with load meter to see how they will do. If they test out ok, I'll take the connectors off,
clean everything and back together. Don't want to rely on accumulated corrosion (there wasn't much) to hold cable on...
not easy to get to, crawling around on ground.

Good afternoon
It’s a nice day here
43 now, it was about 10 degrees colder this AM.

Yesterday started in the shop and ended up in Boston. Logan airport is a busy place, and they often use multiple runways. When we left we had to taxi across 3 runways to get to our departure runway, 2 of those 3 were active. No wonder they have so many incursions there.

IMG_1704.jpg

Today is in the shop and some outside drainage work, replacing a 12” pipe under a lane and cleaning out some swales that feed the pipe.

Airport Authority meeting tonight, I feel like a busy guy, but did take wife out to lunch for her birthday.

Lou, sorry to hear about your brother, hopefully your treatment gets you back on your feet at home.

PopGadget - I thought Logan had the latest SW ASDE-3 Radar, maybe no one is looking at that, should give a warning when planes come too close, Maybe the planes are too packed up for that to work?
I have been out of the loop for a long time, would think they could get very precise, considering the resolution that radar has.

Good morning TBN Brothers and Sisters. I hope all are well and in good spirits today.
Warm this morning, near 70 at 4am headed to 80 again. Hoping to get Lime spread on hay field before rains on Thursday. The guy spreading for me is having a tough time with his trucker. The trucker doesn't show till after lunchtime which makes it difficult to get loaded and spread.

Newest F-35 (fifth generation fighter) Lightning II by Lockheed Martin. Production so far estimated at near 900.
Version A (conventional take-off landing)
Version B (short take-off vertical landing)
Version C (carrier variant)
USAF said F-35 will replace F-16 and A-10 (say it ain't so!) Cannot imagine this aircraft can loiter like the A-10!

To all, a healthy and prosperous day!

Well this sure isn't morning and I though long about before posting.
It's been a long week already.
Lost my brother Sunday we had know it was coming for quite some time.
Obituary of Daniel Craig Marchaland | Flynn Bros Inc. - Greenwich
Then I hadn't been feeling real good for a few weeks and Monday was a rough day,
sent my Primary care doctor a message and got a call back to get to the ER.
So spent the afternoon waiting in the ER with breaks for some tests then got stuck
in a room at the ER at 6 for more testing and scans, ended up getting admitted at 2AM to the Hospital
diagnosed with Congestive heart failure (failure had me asking what in the hell it's still working) so
it still works just not right. So new diet mild exercise and see what happens. Between COPD, arthritis,
and Afib now this have to wonder about things at times.
Every one stay safe and healthier then me :)
Lou, you and your family has my prayers and condolences. Watch your salt intake. Hope they get your heart working.

Drew, wouldn't it be nice to be able to afford lithium?
I'd have to make some other expensive changes, like adding an Xantrex inverter/charger that is rated for lithium voltage. What is in there now sure isn't.
Since I do so little boondocking, just not a priority for me. Can run the gen for an hour a day to charge up house batteries.

dvd/cd player just showed up, tiny thing, headed out to plug it in, get some tunes going

Nature cleaning itself gstrom99?
Mother nature has way getting her point across one way or another.
Morning all! Currently 28 going to a high of 39.
Lou, condolences for the loss of your brother. Hope they fix you up quickly!
Not much happening here. Still waiting out the cold weather before starting outside projects. Wife and I are doing ok health wise. No changes since my last post.
We are making plans to head south for a few weeks to check out South Carolina and Georgia for future wintering.
Wife gave me a place of distinction for all of my creations.
View attachment 787435Have a few more projects in my head! Need to replace my bandsaw and find a good source for cheaper hard woods.
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!
You sure doing mighty fine work Phil. (y)

old friend coming for dinner, bringing a pizza with her, we shall eat in the rv for fun, hoping she might want to take a short trip with me some time, particularly to
mutual friend's home in NY Catskills. She called all in a swivet, got to pizza place and they had made the wrong pizza, so she would be late. No problem.
Rv is warm, music playing quietly in background, wine is ready to open.
We have been good friends for 30 years and despite both being single now, are quite content to remain just friends. Without benefits.
Other than dinner out. When I'm traveling, she will come and water my garden. A good friend indeed.

Snagglepuss, being an outside cat, knows a good warm chair when she gets it.

36F and sunny @ 18:00, heading down to around 26 tonight for the overnight low. High today was 43.7F.

Still working the night shift.

Hopper, deer, and two tube feeders refilled yesterday first thing yesterday. Deer feeder had been cleaned out by this morning, other critters appear to be enjoying the refilled feeders.

Then another week's worth of meds doled out.

Yesterday's Amazon deliveries were Milescraft 700 piece pocket hole screw assortment (Torx drive, not square), the correct 5" pads to fit the Makita ROS (I initially ordered 6" because that was all that were available at the time. I have a couple of 6" hook-n-loop sanding mice on order which I will use those on, for hand sanding), a Dewalt drill bit set for down here at the house, and a three piece Whiteside Dado router bit set for undersized plywood:

Ended up having to remove the Wonderboard panel after Woman asked "Where is that 3rd knob for the shower ?" ... which I had been using on the valves. Had sealed it up in the wall.

Worst part of that was, I thought "Well, the Good Morning crew will get a kick out that ..." ... so after having set it back in there to get a picture, guess what happened ...

IMG_2287 copy.jpg

Yup ... put the Wonderboard panel back up ... without removing the knob ... again ... so it has to come down once more ....

Hilarious ...

Flipped over shelf board and got two coats of poly applied to it, then flipped it again late last night after the second coat had dried and sanded the original side I started on with some 220, cleaned that off, and threw a 3rd coat of poly on it. Have used about 1/3 to 1/2 a quart of poly so far.

The Woman says it looks good. Probably could stand a 4th coat ... ;)

Ordered Domino's for dinner last night, Woman got the Chicken Alfredo bowl and Parmesan Bites, I got the Buffalo wings. Also tried the Parmesan Bites for the first time. Mmmmm. We have a free pizza there, will need to take advantage of that ... maybe tonight ?

Made some good progress on cabinetry design last night as well.

Had been working on the design for the woodworking bench and that had kind of stalled a bit so I started on the router table. Happy with how it's turning out.

Using Denis The Dutchman's system that allows any size drawers to be relocated wherever they will fit:

Picture 6.png

Picture 5.png

Picture 3.png

Picture 4.png

Drawer width's are standardized at a 13.5 inch width with three drawer depths: 2.75", 5.5" and 8.25"

Need to migrate that over to the woodworking bench and verify that will work, as far as fitting goes, and then should be ready to generate a cut list and start cutting parts.

Tomorrow would be a good day for that, as it will get up to around 50F.

Amazon deliveries today were the template for the router lift, 500 pieces of 1 1/4" pocket hole screws (for joining 3/4 material), a can of CRC Dry Graphite Lube, and some Starbond CA glue:

Time to get cracking.

Hope everyone is having a good Wednesday ... (y)

Good (Thursday) morning. Overnight Low was a chilly 4.5C and it's presently warmed up to 20.2C. It's fairly clear and calm.

I put the flagpole back up and discovered where that odd 'rattle' was coming from... a section of the old, unused, chook-coop roof had come off. That's OK as the coop is derelict and I can use that 'tin' roofing section on the woodshed where it's going rusty.

Other than that, I've got a future project looming that I'm loath to start; one of my blackwood trees is well and truly dying (all others are healthy) and I'm going to have to figure out how to fell it. There's not one single trunk. I may (probably) need to employ a professional tree-feller to remove it. <sigh>

Collected my two cases of wine from the PO yesterday and, pleasantly surprised to find that an Amazon Prime parcel (carabiner watch) had arrived a week ahead of the estimate. Yay!

That's about it, take care all.

/ Good morning!!!! #166,020
Speaking of Airheads, got a call from a neighbor that his wife, who works at the local grade school, found my copy of this month's club magazine in with the school's mail yesterday. That's a new low for our mailman.

"That's a new low for our mailman."

It seems like something is wrong at the post office. Have the post people been so jerked around that they don't care anymore?

Chris
At least your postman isn't stealing anything that can be easily fenced. We turned in a complaint online back just after Christmas on a stolen card worth $200. Still haven't heard a word from the post office. We have rec'd envelopes torn open (looking for cash), packages torn open looking for easily sold goods. I believe it's local...or possibly in the Austin unit that handles our mail prior to it getting here.

Korean war term. You get the blue star!

Work, work, work, makes the day fly by. I need 48 hours in a day. I worry about what slips thru the cracks, not getting done.

Son's 2nd track meet tomorrow, daughter's tennis game tomorrow, would like to see both, can't be in 2 places at once. My boss said take off, and don't even consider reconciling with vacation.

Refurbished laptop sitrep: I upgraded it to Win11. It took a while. Then plenty of Win updates also installed. Next, Dell's website recommended I install an app that keeps it updated as far as Bios and drivers are concerned. That took a while. We only have about 14mg down internet. My son was complaining about it getting too warm. I need to make sure the fan is coming on when the temp is high. I can't actually feel it humming or hear it. But haven't checked now after all the updates. It was built in 2019.
