BEF, think your bleary eyes and scratchy throat may be caused by the train wreck air blowing over from eastern Ohio? Hope it's not near your dad's farm.

Farm is well south of there, but have a sister who is lot closer. Prevailing winds will take most of it up into NW PA. What a disaster.

Glad you got hike in. Did you cross the bridge to hit MD?

I’m definitely getting the crud.

Morning all, 46 going up to 64 and WU says sunny, clouds certainly don't think so.
Can't believe it's april already, oh wait, still feb, just april weather.

Spent some time in the micro-garden yesterday cleaning it out, still a bit more work and need to prune the blackberries.

Pennwalk - I seem to find a car sized load of branches in each of my small fields each month.

PJS - sorry to hear about Evey, Know you'll make her last days wonderful

Maybe get to do some brushcutting if the rain holds off.

Drew - We have wild strawberries- everything seems to fight over them, but I don't see birds on them like the blackberries and raspberries (though the deer and rabbits go wild)

Be well

Good Morning.
A bit grey and rain coming later, but nice outside now.

Yesterday did not disappoint, it kept me busy all day.
We have a camera in the barn, connected by WI-FI link that has not been very reliable. When we put the water line into the barn, I placed 1” and 1-1/2” conduits in the trench along with the water line, “just in case” as the trench crossed the incoming electric line and driveway, which was repaved about 3 years ago.
So I ran a piece of cat 6 Ethernet cable through the 1” conduit. The conduit is about 250 long, the total cable run was 330 feet, which is exactly the limit for Cat 6 performance. It works great now.

So the high power outdoor access point on the shop is now primarily for streaming music to the tractor…
As far as the day not disappointing, first thing, I had to run to HD to get LB fittings for the conduit as it just came out of the ground and was capped. On the way down the lane I saw this-

After a quick trip back up for the carryall with the Makita chainsaw and blower, it looked like this-

The rest of the trip and job went as planned. My wife was impressed with how easy it was to get a poly pull line through the conduit with a piece of a plastic shopping bag and a shop vac. 250 feet took about 30 seconds at most.
After the cable was run, terminated and tested, I connected it to the switch and the camera and was rewarded with success.

It was at least 60 degrees out, so the next outside task was to move the rest of the remaining hay from the hay shed to the barn, followed by loading grain and shavings in there as well. The ground was dry enough for the carryall to not leave marks, but a truck wouldn’t be so lucky.

Not sure what I’ll come up with for today, the little plane has a flat tire, so I’ll go pull the wheel on that and bring it home to change. Ordered a new tube for it, I’m not a fan of patching them. Son discovered it when he went to fly it to work yesterday. He uses it fairly often, and takes his son up in it as well. Considering that I bought it 25 years ago to teach him to fly, I would say it doesn’t owe me a dime.
Might look around to see if I have a Wi-Fi access point and if I do I’ll put it in the barn now that it has a gigabit connection.

PJ-
I am so very sorry about Evey. It’s hard to describe the bond between dogs and the humans that they choose. When we lost Emily last spring, we said that at our age, with no kids at home, raising another puppy wasn’t in the cards for us.
This was last night, between us on the couch. 16 week old Zoe.
We might be crazy, but we’re happy.

Good morning, 47 going to 57 and this is February amazing weather. Snow plows are getting lots of rest.

The whole house surge protector should come in today and hopefully get installed. Had to move over two breakers to the aux panel to make room for it in the main panel.

My shoulder Dr appointment is mid March with the same doctor that did surgery on wife's ankle fractures.

Loosing a pet is never easy. When we had steers wife gave them appropriate names for the intended purpose such as T-bone, Sirloin etc

The Harpers Ferry area is so pretty. We go there often on weekdays when there are fewer people there.
