Good morning!!!!

Morning all, 14 going up to 27 and sunny. Really strong winds last night knocked a bunch of stuff over.

Lines to the oil tank jelled, warmed them up and added to "heat" and all good again. Cold enough it took hours for the whole house to heat back up.

Tried to run the fish through from utility room to living room and got it on first try but too far. Tried to back it up a few inches and it sprung and went over the bulk head :-(
Tried a few more times but no luck, will try again today when fresh, trying not to have another hole to patch/paint.

Drew - good timing for return, it was brutal last night with wind chill in the negatives. Does heat work in that brand new sleeper?

Don-must be frustrating to have to do so much work on previously completed trails. More hand time with the trail crew.

RS - looks like a nice setup and layout

Took pictures on the way to Doylestown, looks like antiques center added some giraffes, cows and camels to the dinosaur mix. Anyone need one for their front lawn

Good morning to all! Low of 31°, heading upwards to 52°. Supposed to hit 56° tomorrow. Questionable chances of snow / rain next Wednesday. Large area of "uncertainty" where it will track and hit. ..... I guess it's a wait and see ....

Those temps are cold! Way too cold! Hopefully it is short lived. Seems like there will be a lot of damage. You guys stay safe and warm.

Drew, have a good trip back. Yes, you definitely dodged the cold.....

The weather here has been fairly 'stable' for us, but actually quite a bit drier than usual.

Need to pick up a few things at the grocery, also take the edge tamers over to my TBN neighbor. Then back home to 'chill'......
I think the wifey is going to make pizzas again for dinner... yum... never refuse pizza.....

I was in town yesterday and had about 2 1/2 hours to kill.... went to a few tractor dealers to kick the tires and ask about prices.... HOLY COW! Prices have now doubled over what I paid 4 years ago! That price was for a comparable Mahindra. The JD and Kubota were another 20% higher still!

They had an over abundance of implements stacked all over the lots. Prices have over doubled on them too....but there is 'dealer markup' added to them also. One sales guy told me the next batch coming in will go up another 20%.

Everyone have a great day!

67°F and .11 inches rain.

Tentative plans to go to Waimea Cherry Blossom Festival this morning. If raining I’d prefer to stay home and work in the laundry room. I’ll let Sophie decide.

Gals took early lead in HF, then the guys came back only to be crushed by the gals in later play. Sometimes it’s just all in the cards. The giggling got a little annoying though.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Glad to be out of the freezing rain club now. Our part of Central Texas is at 49* now and overnight low was 35*. All is clear and sunny around here now. I'll get the manual pole saw out and cut a few broken hanging limbs that didn't completely fall.

Hope everyone has good weather and no more damage.

I need a long manual pole saw for Mom's yard. Any recommendations?

19°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 48° today. 42° already. That wind is chilly, though.

Already done a bunch of domestic chores this morning. Still need to get to Carlyle to get a battery, and get it swapped out in tractor today. For whatever reason, the Carlyle NAPA store has it $30 less than our store in Trenton, so I'm making that drive to get it.

Wife tells me I have dinner duty tonight. I'm thinking lasagna.

That's crazy cold, check. Stay warm up there.

Good morning, gents.

Not the M18 Pole saw, problems with oiler. I have disassembled and it works, just not enough pressure so clogs and under oils even when not clogged.

Got the wire through the 2 90 degree bends in the ceiling without cutting a third hole.
12th times a charm with fishing it through.

Kid says he is chef tonight with veggie flat bread pizza. Will see :)

Back to work, but much happier with the wiring in a good place now. Finish run and then prep for sheet rock.

Balmy 4F clear sky over night temp -0F...better than -20F+ not complaining.

Been slow motion day barley kept the dust off me. 🙄

First winter in 7 years with original battery pickup just click click click,2 mins on charger started like it was summer time...wife Buick 3 year old battery spin over like wash machine on final rinse. :)
Sunday around 36F afternoon I'll plug heater in and putter battery charger on Kubota before trying to start.

Still thinking about it. :)

Enjoy your evening all.

I don’t have first hand experience with this, but a couple of friends swear by them.
I use a telescoping Makita cordless myself.

Kind of slow for a crew doing it then. I’ve seen videos of crews putting pretty good size up in 2 days, including metal.

I was on the 1 yr plan myself.

Sophie might say I’m on the “never finished” plan.

She did opt out of Cherry Blossom Festival due to the rain. That means I should get laundry tiled today.
Will be starting after another coffee

Plans sure changed in a hurry this morning when we had no hot water.
Washed hair in freezing water, went and got hair cut.
Home Depot carries my brand of water heater, but the marathon elements are apparently larger than the normal size. My socket doesn’t fit, so ordered a dual size socket. Ordered top element on Amazon, comes tomorrow but socket comes Monday.
Ended up going to a HD in PA that had a marathon water heater in stock and just bought a new one. I’ll fix up the old as a spare.
After getting it home, realized I needed nipples to connect to, so back to Lowe’s. Looked long time, only saw black iron and galvanized nipples. On my way thru appliances a guy asked if I needed help, and he was able to steer me to a mini section of brass fittings and I picked a bunch to try. A handful costs over $100. Used 2, rest will get returned.
It’s in and warming the water.

Tried taking a nipple off the old one, but something loosen up below the pipe I was trying to get off, even though I held the piece it was screwed into with a wrench and turned the nipple with pipe wrench. Now the whole piece wobbles at top of tank, so might not be able to fix it up.

BEF, If I remember correctly the fittings on the marathon I installed are like a union nut with an o-ring inside so when you tighten the nipple it seals. Conversely when you loosen the nipple the fitting flops around and can spin, it may not be broke! Hope this makes some sense.

Yes, there is an o ring under the nipple. But it shouldn’t be loose where it is loose, the nipple should have come out, but it didn’t

Something for next week. Didn’t get the new mixer installed at church, but I got one temporary there that will do for tomorrow.

Doesn’t sound like a fun time, Dennis

Plumbing is not my favorite thing. I bought some new ball valve shut offs to replace the gate valve type, but with all the running around today, decided not to go cutting pipes and soldering.

Good (Sunday) just past noon. Overnight Low of 11.5C and it's presently 25.3C, clear with a gentle breeze. There was 0.7mm in the gauge at 0900.

Just back from Church on this beautiful day. I didn't get to the mowing due to the threatened rain yesterday... the 'coast' received 3mm which was great for them as I've been more fortunate in that department than them. Unless you're a 'townie' you're pretty much on 'tank' or a well.

I'll get to mowing tomorrow. Or the next day. Although I do have to wander into town this week to give a blood sample.

That's about it, take care all.
