The Fanjuls were Cuban immigrants with sugarcane experience working themselves up to a big operation in the industry. They had a ranch close to the sugar fields that I often was invited to. They had Cuban cooks that were absolutely amazing. A lot of the dishes were pork based and deliciousUsed to travel there over a several year time span building several projects including the largest Biomass burning project in the US ( Ockeelanta ). This coast line down to West Palm Beach is a very affluent area of Florida> The owners of the biomass projects was the Fanjul Family living in Palm Beach. They operate 170000 acres of sugarcane fields around Lake Ockeechobee
