Good Morning
It’s 25 with a high of 36 today. First time above freezing since Friday.
Yesterday kept me busy, had 3 heaters to fix, was able to get 2-1/2 fixed. First was a geo thermal with a bad capacitor on the blower motor, I had one in the KubVan. Next one was an inducer bower impeller on a gas furnace, fortunately the one inducer assembly that I had was the correct one. The last one was a gas furnace with thermostat issues. It was a proprietary thermostat that I didn’t have, but was able to rig up a switch to run it in heat mode so they could manually control it and have heat until the part arrives.

Not sure what today will bring, might go with a friend to pick up a used Bridgeport mill in Easton, PA. Might just sit around and be amused by puppy Zoe, but while she is amusing, I can rarely sit around all day.

got call from VFD to pull codes on Tender, found no active codes. They suspect still having algae issues in fuel system, they have been using algaecide but same problems with tender as last time.
Have you changed the fuel filters? If yes, then why not cut open the primary filter and see what is in it? What are the chances of water in the fuel? This is available in the 'States, too. force of habit, I went to .ca, but .com should have it too.Gasoila WF25 Regular Water Finding Paste, 2.5 oz Jar : Amazon.ca: Industrial & Scientific

Three pulls, nothing. Fourth pull (and a little ether (hey, I have carpal tunnel - gimme a break)) fires right up

kilroy, it is your equipment AND your carpal tunnel. Do what you gotta do to get the job done.;)

I do give the equipment to do it on straight John Henry, but you reach a point where you just gotta make it happen. . .

A Jolly good morning to all,
Presently 30F under clear skies, after an overnight low of 26, forecast high of 47, winds light.

Wife never came up with a 'honey do' list so it was a quiet and relaxing day. We shall see what today brings.

Ronjhall- What camera/lens are you using to get those fantastic shots?

Let's all be careful out there and have a good day.

I sit all day long at work, which isn’t good.

I have spare run capacitors already sitting by my GEO units.

Watched a video yesterday where guy used car battery and 1000w inverter to run his gas furnace during power outage. Just add a battery minder and keep it for emergency use.
Won’t work for 240v motors.

LS, how big is the UPS you bought for your pellet stove?

Camera is a Canon 6D with Sigma 150-600 mm lens.
I also have a Canon 7D with Sigma 18-200 mm lens for closeup and scenery photos. Both older digital mirror cameras. But still take great pictures.

Good morning! 26 now and sunny, high of 40 or so today.

I know we are making a grocery run today, will find something else to do as well. Yesterday was pretty much an energy conservation day.

@check - have you lost your smell as well? I know when I had C@vid, Turkey and chicken were like earring soggy cardboard. When the taste began to return, some things were ok, other things were pretty nasty tasting, and other things simply had no taste. Onions and coffee were some of the worst offenders in nasty taste.

2 years+, smell is still pretty minimal. Tho this year, I can smell wood smoke.

@buckeyefarmer - I thought about 40 when we were about half way to Hagerstown. Next year, I may just take 40 from Frederick and avoid that mess on I-70. It seems to be getting worse.

Everyone stay safe out there!

good morning all. 27 this morning is warmer than it had been for days. Should go to 44 today. Nice

Spent some time on the phone with son at the VA facility yesterday

Also got updated on a couple of the grandkids. The 11 year old was into Video games too much but now showing an interest in learning to cook. Great to get different interest

Our former drug addict daughter continues to amaze us with her progress over the last 5 years. She is essentially running the drug rehab clinic learning as she went without having a college degree

Picked up groceries yesterday and no particular plans for today except what comes up.

My shoulder injury is not improving much and holding me back from doing several projects. Very frustrating to me. I am not used to be limited in what I can do.
I don't want to further aggravate it.

That mini split that I wanted to install has been on hold and I may go into finding a contractor to get it done.
Finding a good contractor is always a challenge but I will give my long time electrician a call.
He is likely to know who is the best in the field

I would be a bit leery running a modern. VFD driven blower motor with a square wave inverter, if you do this make sure to get a “true sine wave” model.

RNG, Hope I am not speaking out of turn but that doesn't seem as well built as it could have been. Hope the new work will be a little better. I fear the bill is going to be a breathtaker.
If the porch cover gets rebuilt, and at this point that's a big if, it'll be all steel, and I'll consult with a structural engineer to make sure it'll withstand 100 MPH wind loads.

get estimates for rebuilding as is and then settle with insurance and use that money to help do what you want. Some insurances will require lender sign off so that may not be an option

Mine had a $$$ limit before they got the lender involved.

Then that process became even more of a nightmare, getting the funds from the lender. <---

Beware.

Good morning, 27 going up to 45, some sun shining through.
Got the crape myrtles wrapped finally, so warm weather has arrived

I think our Dyson is a V9 animal, wonder what the difference is now up to V11? Seems like bigger battery which would be nice and some fancy lights.

Feel better Check-
RNG - lots of damage is sad, but it looks like it could have been worse. Have a safe trip.

Still tired, only got the crape myrtles done and a few other small tasks before I had to take a nap.
We will see if I can get more done today.

Be well,
