check - that looks like my place exccept for the help.
we've had it snow for the past week, with snow in the forecast for the next week yet. my guess is that i'm walking on a foot of snow, and also walking through a foot of snow ... all in the past 3 weeks. the cold, the wind, blowing snow, and the windchill are the real challenges though. chickena and dogs are not fans of this either.
when the buildup in a snowfall is 4-6 inches my little kubota manages fine. at this point i'm running out of places to push it all, and the driveway is getting smaller. An inverted snowblower is the only type that I am interested in, but too pricey for me currently.
next year, some upgrades for the tractor ... 1) front snow blade 2) tire chains 3) wheel spacers 4) weights
i plowed for about 4.5 - 5 hrs today ... divided between 2 efforts. way too cold at -20C (-5F approx) and wind, for any extended time. i wanted it done today, because there will be more snow overnight, and i am hoping to get a ride to the Christmas Service at Church in the morning. Access to the property is essential ... we had 26 cms (about 10 inches) of snow yesterday alone.

Poured first cup of hot coffee. 14° with light snow this morning. Heading to 17° with more light snow. Looks like 4" of snow fell overnight. Did not get tractor out and plow snow yesterday. Took snow shovel to walkways. May do the same today. Had a good dinner and opened gifts at sons yesterday evening. Going to spend today calling a long list of family and friends.

Temperature is 7 and the high going to 14°F. Wind W 15 gusting to 22 mph. 40% chance of flurries. We got an inch since I plowed.
I am sure glad I don't live down around Cobourg or Port Hope, ON. They had b i g trees down all over the place and zero power. I would be surprised if they had power today.
401 AND 402 were closed in both directions for a time yesterday and Friday from London to Windsor (401) and from Talbot Rd. (Hwy 4) to Sarnia on the 402. Between accidents and whiteouts and the way people down there drive it is little wonder they get into accidents. Going he77 bent for election and tailgating. A few injuries and hurt pride, that is all I know of so far.

check, you got a lot more snow than we did, but you ARE in the snow belt whereas I am north of it. My total for this storm is about 8". We didn't get the wind, thankfully.

Ron, Sassy looks very nice for Christmas. I'm sure she misses your wife too.
This is a day of many fond memories. I miss having someone to give to.
My late wife adored Christmas. Despite much reduction over past three years, I still have enough
ornaments for three trees.
I also miss Toppop and Roy. So on Christmas morning, a special prayer said to both, to join us one last time in spirit.

Merry Christmas and good morning to all,
Not sure what I am doing up now at O-dark thirty. It is 24F with clear sky's, forecast high of 32 today. Winds have backed off greatly, presently blowing 5-12mph with gusts to 20.
Flickering power finally stopped about 9am yesterday, after starting their flickering nonsense at 6pm the night before. Didn't loose any electronics but the mini-splits in the shop were in error mode and not running. Reset them and they seem to be okay, will need to check on them first thing this morning.
With temps up into the 20's today it is time to shut down the propane heat and go back to the heat pump.
While out wandering the property yesterday I noticed a leaning pine tree in the woods. It was leaning right towards where my new shop is going to be, so taking that down will be a priority for today. Don't need it to come down on my shop and don't want to pay tree folks $3K to take it down after the shop is build. Need to get it down while the ground is frozen in case it lands on the shop pad. The pad is all ready for concrete and I don't need the pad messed up if the tree falls on it.

glad to hear power is coming back online - STAY WARM EVERYBODY, and make sure all our critters stay warm, watered and fed some extra calories.
14.5Fright now. Had to get up around 2AM and add some wood to the stove, and added some more just now - I am into some poplar logs. They burn great, they burn hot, they burn clean, and they burn QUICK. . .
Time to start prepping the ham to go in the oven before church.
I hope everyone has a Happy, Healthy, Safe, Dull, BORING Christmas!

Good Morning and a Merry Christmas to all!
It’s a balmy 10 degrees out this morning and will stay in the teens.
Still warmer than yesterday.
I already reported on yesterdays activities, except that I finished the day by watching “polar express” with my grandson.
This morning, I have to get up and going, all the kids are coming here for breakfast and presents, I’m in charge of cooking all the bacon and sausage, which I do outside on the flat top grill. It’s going to be fun in this temperature. Everyone goes to oldest son’s for dinner except for youngest son is going to his in-laws.
