That's it exactly. I finally unpacked it and actually read the Owner Manual that came with it.

Who'd have thought that a ladder required an Owner Manual, but it sure required one for all the things/adjustments you can do with it.

It is, indeed, working out well. Especially around uneven ground. It's very steady too.

up early, mighty cold out, 21 going to 41 but that seems warm compared to others

mouth feeling better, still taking penicillin, can feel where soreness went all the way down into jaw.
not sure why I seem prone to this

off this morning to supermarket to get fixings for warm cider. Going to make that for ex-wife coming for a Christmas visit with husband.
And I'll pawn off some of the cookies given to me; if I ate this stuff I'd head straight to the diabetes clinic.
I try to find friends with kids to offload them.
ex wife's husband is a good friend, 12 years into a multiple mylenoma (sp?) where you are only supposed to last ten years.
And treatment last time did not work.

only exception to cookies is Popgadget's little xmas cake he gave me. Spice date walnut, just yummy.
I admit that only lasted 24 hours in my house it was so good. Now that was quality calories.
trick is to avoid the junk and cherry pick the good stuff.

woke up and house was warm. Too warm. Hmmm. Ok, there's the cause, left the electric radiator on in office, thankfully set on 70.
I'm paranoid about electric heaters, even with radiator types, I never leave home with them left on.
Though clearly sometime I fall asleep forgetting. Well, floor in office is nice and warm on my toes.

Poured first cup of coffee. 21° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 30° cloudy skies. Forgot to buy Sassy her Christmas toy while out shopping on Monday. As always I left my list at home. Went to Menards and spent some time making a the right choice. Topped off car with $2.68 per gallon gas. When I got home did final check of Tractor. Checked oil, fuel and put battery tender on battery. Sprayed snow plow with PAM. I think I am ready for Thursday/Fridays weather.
Woodpeckers like to peck at this tree. I have seen as many as 4 at a time on it.

Drew, thats kind of high for electric. My bill for electric and NG was $220 last month. NG is to heat my 1700 sf house and 450 sf shop. Stay warm. I have a electric heater for making back bathroom extra warm when I take a shower. Set temperature and it has a timer to set how long it will heat. I forget to turn it off if I do not set timer.

after reading an article on the Big Texan Steak Ranch in Amarillo, I looked it up on Google Maps and wandered nearby.
Well this Eastern boy was amazed at what he saw. There to the s/w of Amarillo is the Randall County Feedyard.
If you zoom in on this, all the way in, all those tiny ants are cows.
So that's where the steaks come from...

had to chuckle, there are several small rv campsites not far away.
I wonder if they are prepared for the smell. that's a lot of cow poop

Ron, my late wife never turned anything off....so I'm used to high electric bills. My NC farm bill was always over 200 dollars.
Three hvacs running in NC summer pushed that up to 500 at times.
Money down the drain I know, but I can't do much better in this very poorly insulated cottage. At least thirty years ago they put in Andersen windows.
I'm sure I need another layer of blown in insulation up in the attic.

my arthritis and the cold are not friends at all.

I have stayed at Campsites in Amarillo. Never noticed the smell. Restaurant has a shuttle service for RV parks to take you to dinner. I never did it. Way to much food.

Good morning, low temp 16 and a high of 19°F. Wind W 13 mph. 40% chance of flurries. Snowing right now and we've got about an inch since it started.

Tractor has over 1/2 tank of fuel, I will fill it after I plow next. The V-plow has shoes on the bottom, so I don't scalp the lawns with it, unlike the bucket which has teeth and I can make a right mess with it. We don't have enough snow for the V-plow, I just wanted to see how it would work for my application.

I would rather smell that 'fresh country air' from cows than pigs.
Once upon a time I had 26 laying hens in a 20x20' hen house along with 4 ducks and two geese. Through straw on the floor and in the nest boxes, when it go a bit wet in winter I just put in more straw.
Clean them out in the spring and again in the fall. They do get ripe.
Isn't it strange that we eat something that comes out of a chickens butt?

daugan, blown insulation will settle over the years. I put Roxal bats R22 insulation in the attic right over top of the blown. I put it cross ways on top of the trusses. It helps and mice don't like it.

I am not sure what I will be getting into today, but rest assured it wont be much.

Happy Winter Solstice, later today. I'm sure we'll notice the days getting longer before too long.

21 here, too. Looking for 45 before tomorrow's rain. Later in week shows a little snow and maybe single digit low.

Great trip and pix LS. Wish you had more time with your daughter. We are debating whether to take one more trip out west before getting a new puppy to replace Coco. You may get lots of visitors.

Ron, the Boss woodpecker at our feeders is the red-bellied, but those downies hold their ground pretty well. Thanks for keeping the pix coming.

Had a low energy day yesterday, but managed to find some relatively new LP tanks to swap for my empties. First store I tried...the tanks were older than mine...then tried Walmart...saved 6 bux and got pretty new, nice condition tanks. Later sharpened a chain for the saw...pretty proud of the job...one of my best, although the chain is getting "short" in the tooth. A friend stopped by to pick up some chairs, so shot the breeze for a while.

Good Morning.
It’s 19 with a high in the upper 30’s and sunshine for today.
Snow is likely for a short time tomorrow morning before turning to rain through Friday, and then temps take a dive, won’t get above 20 until the middle of the week. So it looks like a cold, but not white Christmas.
Funeral was as nice as a funeral can be, had a nice visit and lunch with his family afterwards, Bill was one of those guys with a heart of gold that kept it well hidden. We shared many stories to prove that. He made to 95, and didn’t suffer in the end. Hard to ask for more than that.
Did a small plumbing job at the restaurant afterwards, spent no time in the shop.
Today I’ll put the plumbing tools away, do some more puppy preparation, and see what pops up. Tonight we are going to take the grandson to Peddlers Village to see all the lights and decorations, and then get some dinner.

PJ, glad that new job is going well. I’m sure it’s nice not to have to worry about bullet holes in your car (or yourself) as well.
