I went over and picked it up. It needs a fuel tank/handle, grab handle, starter housing and some screws. Probably $150 in parts. I'm not sure I feel like farting with this (the triggers are a pain and needs to be transferred over) and I'm thinking to just buy him a new one (TSC $359). I'd prolly get around to fixing it and keeping it as (another) backup saw.Now, I get to go over there to see how bad it is and start making repair/replacement plans.
