I cobbled together a frame to hang my PHD from. Pallet as a base, so I can move it around with my pallet Jack.
Good idea on the T posts. I have a heavy duty mail box, I saw yellow paint marks on it once where a bat just bounced off.
I too am blessed with a good wife, although I never hit her up for a hydraulic digger, but she has said ok to 3 tractors, and let me build a house & barn.

I think tomorrow I might try to get stuff put back in the shed. Not sure I’m going to try to move it. I’d like to free up some room in the barn to get the truck in if weather gets bad. Not sure I can make that much space.

I filled the PHD gearbox with John Deer corn head grease. No leaks when laying it down

We got 7" of nice wet packing snow, the kind that plugs up snow blowers and is excellent for snowball fights. The V-plow and back blade combo works not bad on straight aways, not so good on curves. Kept the blade like this ). Ground still not frozen, but by the time I plow next it might be. An inch of snow coming tonight and another inch tomorrow.
Way back in the last century when I was a young whipper snapper, I would build snow forts and have a huge stash of snow balls for the upcoming fights.
Go outside in the morning dry and warm, throw snowballs most of the day and go into the house in the late afternoon soaking wet and cold. Turn right around the next day and do it all over again.
I got colder tobogganing down the big hill 1/4 mile north east of me than I did tossing snowballs.

Just do this:
I found out it's easier to just put it on piece by piece than as a complete unit.
I tried the 'just screw it into the ground' storage idea.... NEVER again! I had to dismantle it anyway to get it hooked back up!
I have heard of hanging them from chains.... either on a tree or on a wooden frame, or rafters in a barn. I don't like keeping attachments outside.

That looks good great job. In my case the Danuser PHD is very heavy and not practical for that approach. I have tried the auger down half way in dirt approach and also tying to fence post with chain or just flat on floor. Currently use one tractor to lift it and then mount it to the other tractor and leave it on for as long as I don't need it for other things.

Successful day! It took me longer to hobble into BestBuy than it took to return the UPS. Then over to Costco.... lines were only 1 or 2 cars at the pumps (instead of 10-12), so topped off the tank for the trip to Colorado. Still $2.48/gal.
Picked up the UPS as soon as I went in.... yesterday there were probably 50. Today, maybe 10 left. I'm glad I went back today and didn't wait until next week.
Pellet stove purring right now.... 16° outside. Most recent forecast shows a low of 5° tonight, with a -25° wind chill warning! The wind is expected to be 15-20 mph with gusts to 35. Supposed to quit early morning.
Did get the pond's fountain shut down today. The 'cone' of ice was completely enclosed, with the water still shooting up inside. I think it was time to turn it off for the winter....
