Good morning! A warm 70˚F heading to 72˚, cloudy and winds starting from the South, then West, then North.

Still researching how to do the granite countertops. I did call a company to give me an estimate but they couldn't even tell me when they could come out. I imagine they are swamped before Christmas, I should just wait till January.

Ron went through the same 2 hour multi people aggravation last week with At&t. They could not help my mom even with her on the line, he forgot her pin and the one I had they said did not work and all they could do to confirm was to send a text with a code that she cannot retrieve. Next time I will use that 2 hours to drive to her house.

Drew, most people here have ditched the paid TV. Mom still has hers ($55 month - satellite) because that is her entertainment and she does not have internet or want to learn how to use it if she did.

Good Morning

so far behind now, my apologies to everyone, i am about 25 pgs behind.
plan ... skip to the last 5 pages and hopefully catch up that way

lots of bookkeeping keeping me busy. Waiting on details /advice regarding next steps re mediation for a separation agreement / divorce. I dislike this so much, never even a concept for me 2 months ago. this will take 6 months or more, to sort out finances. I hope and pray that my buy-out offer allows me to keep the house, the tractor (with custom fabrication for my needs), my project El Camino, snd the dog. There is no option for her to buy me out. I have a lot of support. Hoping to get a visit in with daughter, son in law, and grandson before they leave for Christmas in Alberta.

we've had a lot of snow, close to 18 inches on the ground compacted a bit ... but i'm still in shorts 🤠 . The chickens are staying in the coop. some seat time tomorrow to plow the driveway out
m
My buddy grabbed the '93 Silverado on his deck / tow truck, and hauled it to a mechanic across town, hopefully it will be a simple, affordable solution, i should know more in a few days.

another friend stopped by with coffee, and visited for a bit. we caught up. that broke up my day a bit from all of the office work

catching up. cheers all.

Don good catch on the safety switch. Is that the tape fix lower right corner :)
That is the switch in the lower right corner before I taped it in. The switch is close to the edge of the front face plate edge that it will go on the side of the plate as you are trying to line up the screw holes underneath and then it is not depressed. But I have never heard of a switch that when not activated will cause the breaker to trip. I hope that was the only problem.

Good Morning.
It’s 22 and clear, won’t get to 40.

Yesterday, I did get things rearranged so that I could fit the tractor with the snow blade and counterweight in the shop, backed in and ready to pull out into the snow. It was too wet to mount the plow and weight, I plan to do that this morning while it’s frozen outside.

Got a call from a friend with no heat, so I packed up some stuff in the KubVan and headed out. He has a high efficiency natural gas furnace. It would lock out immediately and not light. The inducer fan was running, but the pressure switch wasn’t closing. I jumped it, and it lit off, but shut down after a little while for a flame fault.
After a bit of disassembly, I found that the hub was loose on the inducer fan, so while the motor was running, the fan was barely turning.

IMG_0304.jpg

The fan was not immediately available, a trip to another friend’s shop to rummage through his “graveyard” produced an entire inducer assembly.

Got it all put back together and they now have heat again. A good way to spend the day.

Today the wife and I are going out to breakfast with the professor,
After that I want to get the implements on the tractor while the ground is still frozen. Also want to make a current measurement on the new mini split in heat mode to compare with my buddy’s (that I got the inducer from) 33 seer mini split that he just put in his office. Mine is only 21 seer, it will be interesting to see.
Then I’ll wait and see what pops up.

The Great White North is living up to it's name, and chilly, with wind.

CP Holiday Train rolls through town on Thursday - should be a great fund-raiser for the Food Banks

Good Morning all. Yesterdays forecast for today was mostly cloudy with morning temps at 29 rising to 44. I woke up to temps in the mid 30's with bright sunshine with forecast to hit 40.

I have one gutter left to clean of the leaves and one section of yard to clean up, if all goes well I should be done with that in about 1 hour. Did manage to break a strut on my leaf catcher so I need to order a new strut and brace for that.

THEN... we need to go to DMV to get the wife her new VA license and for me to get 2 of my vehicles registered. BP is already rising with the thought of dealing with those folks.

Good morning! 31 now, was 31 when I crawled out of bed several hours ago. High is “supposed” to be 39 today. Don’t think we have hit the predicted high for a number of days. Rain tomorrow night.

Doing what I can wngsprd next week going to be rough weather wise coldest Christmas in years

I seem to remember Christmas 2020 was pretty cold locally. I had just gotten home from the Cleveland Clinic Resort & Spa before Christmas, it turned cold after I got home. I was living on the couch, remember how the cold air would hurt my lungs when my wife would go in/out of the house. My first real efforts to do something was crawling (literally) from the couch to woodburner to put some logs on the fire, then crawl back to the couch.

Pretty much finished up Christmas shopping yesterday. And started dealing with a passport renewal.

Truck is going in for service this morning, then wife and I are going to buy wine for some family members for Christmas. They seem to appreciate the local wines for presents. Next week I need to get some local cheese for Christmas in MD. The family likes Ohio cheese better than local cheese.

Not sure what else I will get into.

Everyone stay safe out there,

Good Morning!!!! 43F @ 6:30AM.
Sunny. High 52F. Winds light and variable.
Beautiful sunny day yesterday, a bit cool though. By California standards, anyway.

Found a Toyota dealer in Carson City, NV with an AWD Prius and the 50 state emissions option. Maybe they're all like that? The more I think about it, though, the more it makes sense to wait for the '23 models. Nobody's gonna want a '22 once the '23s are available, and there's no reason to get bent over a barrel on a '22 now when I'll get bent over the same barrel for a '23. Also learned I can register a new car purchased out of state as long as it meets California emissions. Now I just have to make sure I don't have to pay Nevada sales tax. I'll have to pay California "Use" tax, same as sales tax, and I don't wanna have to pay twice. Or maybe I can get my local dealer to do a trade or transfer of a Nevada car?

Still no joy on the security gateway, but I have something new to try suggested by someone on the UI support forum.

I did get a ride in on the roller yesterday, and this time it started right up. Ran up and down the driveway, overlapping at least 50%. But there aren't a lot of fines in this roadbase, so it's not really packing as hard as I'd have hoped. Still better than mud, though, and the rains haven't managed to wash any of it off the hill.

The only good thing about this recent inflation is that CD yields are starting to look interesting for the first time in a long while. It sure would be nice to have a crystal ball...

One of the nice feature of Weather Underground is you can look up the history of weather conditions going back several years. It is not available thru the APP that I have found. Looking up your location with a browser. History will show up.

With snow in London yesterday, it was interesting talking to my coworkers there.
While it does snow there, it is kinda rare.
a few flakes can shutdown traffic and transit for the whole city.

Good morning to all! Low of 19° --- brrrrr. Highs this week are now only forecast to hover around 32°. That's the expected high for today. We got off easy... only a couple inches of snow.

Not enough to try out the tamers on the bucket.....

If this snow was down in the big city (Albuquerque), it would shut down! Just a few years ago(actually about 10 years), they only had 6 plow trucks for the whole county. The city got caught in a fast moving storm that dumped 14" of snow in about 6 hours.... the city was shut down for 3-4 days! There are now about 25 plow trucks. Up here in the mountains, they get after the snow quick, but these are the state plows, not the city ones.

Scaredy, hope everything goes well for you. Sounds like you are on top of the situation. Thoughts and prayers sent to you.

Drew, have a nice visit with the MIL. A box of chocolates.... mmmmm

Paul, "PopG to the rescue!" .... very nice that you were able to get the heat working again. I bet your friends were very grateful!

Wifey wants to run a few errands today.... so that's the agenda. Not too many stops --- as long as they have what she's after. Hopefully won't turn into a goose chase......

Pellet stove purring away.... toasty warm. Max is enjoying laying in front of it. Actually me too (but I'm sitting in a chair).....

The extended winter forecast a couple months ago showed a "warmer winter and lower precipitation "..... so I didn't buy as many pellets as previous years. If this pattern continues, we won't have enough. I may pick up another 1/2 pallet just in case......

OK, wifey is giving me that infamous 'stink eye' ---- must be time for me to get moving.....

Everyone have a great day!

68°F and 2.94 inches rain.

Never got dry enough to mow yesterday, not promising for today.

It did clear up in afternoon for a great Happy Hour under the carport at cottage.

Sophie has bone density appointment this morning in Hilo.
Small lunch gathering at a neighbors which I would expect to linger. Host is also billing same as a birthday celebration for me. Birthday was T Day, but that’s fine.

Honda gas tank replacement came in but doubtful I get to it today.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
