Good morning!!!!

That is one nice plow setup. I have always wanted an RTV setup like that, but have never been able to justify it, except that it would be the impetus to build the equipment shed that I would also like to have, so I could move some stuff that it now stored in the shop into it. That might be twisted logic, just saying…….
I have always wanted to put up a 60 x 40 pole barn with a concrete floor and a lift and looked into it for a while. The bank barn needed siding and new roof which cost a lot of money and I could not justify doing both. So decided to spend money on the bank barn to preserve it and use it for shop and storage. Many of these 200 year old barns go down when the roof starts to leak and people not able to afford the repairs. Replaced the access doors with two 16 ft by 14 ft sliding doors and set up the inside for shop and storage on the main floor. There are also two large mezzanine areas on that floor that was used for hay storage back in the day and a trolley running under the roof ridge that I still have to use for something. The lower floor was used for cattle and we used it for our French Alpine goats. We had 50 of them at one time. One area on the lower floor has a concrete floor and plan is to convert that into a welding/fabrication shop and perhaps with space for the blacksmith equipment. Doing welding on a wood plank floor is not a good idea. Insulated a room upstairs for heated shop space but the rest is unheated. Getting tight siding on the barn made a huge difference. The old barns are set up for hay drying with cracks between the boards but it feels like the wind goes right through you in the winter.

Thanks for preserving the old bank barn. I hate to see so many just falling down.
Neighbors near me preserved the old barn for the farm my land came off of. The old farm was tax Id 12 or near that, one of the original farms settled before the revolution.

25 outside this AM.

Road trip to MD, family get together still on, despite FIL in hospital. Not saying anything. Just keeping mouth shut.

New roof on run-in. It's a 30k run-in now. Not joking. Guys had to have one of their work trucks towed out of here. Always, always something. Some odd, unforeseen event or circumstance happening of late.

Looking forward to the holidays. And New Year.

Hope all are on the mends, get or stay healthy. Take it easy today and be safe.

"I recently went thru and destroyed a bunch of old hard drives"

I went through and disassembled a bunch of hard drives to recycle the metal. I didn't think it was worth the time unless you were bored with nothing to do. The magnets inside can be handy. Heavy duty and seem to last forever. Great for building a Chalky (sp?) cup

"Just keeping mouth shut."

Silence is golden.

My life has gotten so I plan on unforeseen events or circumstances. I automatically plan nothing will go as expected.
With the almost random supply chain disruptions the current chaos in materials and logistics make get anything done without all materials, labor, backup supplies etc. on hand iffy at best.
It's like down hill skiing over unfamiliar terrain in a blinding snowstorm.

I took platers out and made them unreadable, like with a hammer. Kept a few magnets.

My lovely wife just brought me coffee, which is already gone. Feels good on a sore throat.

Good Morning
It’s up to 30, and not getting any higher today. Wind is making it feel much colder, even though the sun is out and bright. The Davis is showing a wind chill of 18 degrees, the Tempest temperature is showing 18 which is not correct.

Yesterday was a typical day, wandering from one task to another, spent the afternoon at the restaurant installing new gas ovens.

Today will probably start with sorting out the erroneous temperature readings on the Tempest. Not sure what will follow.

41º going to 75º to day and 80º forecasted for Thursday and Friday. A heat wave. I'll take it. My new shop area in the barn for welding and fab work is unheated. I hope to spend some time up there this coming long weekend. I have a few projects going including some control mods for the MX5200.
Work continues on the backyard drain. Power snakes have done all they could yesterday. Today will be the flush test and then hopefully I can put this all back together when it dries out in the coming heat this week.
Have a great day.
