26 outside this AM. More crunchy grass. LOL. Maybe the mower can remain parked.

Roofers supposed to be here this AM. Materials are on the ground waiting. Should be fun watching.

Not much else going on, FIL back in ER, may have to cancel family get together tomorrow at his place.

Hope all get or stay healthy. Bad time of year to get sick.

Be safe.

Good Morning Buppies, I hope all is well for you! Or as best as can be expected.

Stay warm these next few days.

   / Good morning!!!! #159,224
It's a little warmer today, 43º going to 71º. Clear skies :)
Borrowed a friends power snake for the clogged yard drain. Looks like it has a root cutter on the end. Hopefully this does the job. Tired of digging it up.
Got some control knobs for the Kubota in the mail. Somebody tell Kubota putting plastic shrink over flat stock is not a handle :rolleyes:

any idea on how to water the birds without electricity in freezing weather?

c'mon Makita, make a cordless heated bird waterer...

(I bet Popgadget could make one, 60W heater, mini inverter, etc)
Theoretically only solution without heating would be circulation. Running water doesnt freeze. OK, with limits....
But to make circulation you again gonna need power supply
If you can get some power, then it should be better to use "self adapting" cables, ones guys put in water drains. I dont know how they work. Right now I am in the middle of construction with my industrial cabin, and have just heard how plumber, roofer and electrician are discussing that thing for my shed

If electricity is not an option, I see only 2 ways.
Warming up with candles.
Or
very good insulation, very little exposure to cold, big portion of warm water
Both options is very challenging in terms - will your "customers" accept such set-up

Good Morning!!!! 49F @ 5:45AM.
Plentiful sunshine. High around 65F. Winds NW at 5 to 10 mph.
We were under a Wind Advisory yesterday, and the wind is strong this morning, too. made for a noisy night.

With the transmission out, the engine rear main seal and oil pump are accessible, and after almost 40 years, replacing an o-ring and a seal are good insurance. A lont time ago someone showed me a trick for removing lip seals. Punch a couple holes with an awl, install a couple sheet metal screws, and use a nail remover to extract the seal. The old trick still works. Removing four bolts gives access to the o-ring, a relatively simple chore. Cleaned up the clutch plates, put it all back together, but didn't quite finish by the time dinner rolled around. Should get done today before house guests show up this afternoon.

Got invited to Thanksgiving dinner at a neighbor's house. She's a great cook, and her husband is my bulldozer buddy, so it'll be a good time with good folks. Got to brush up on my baking skills, though, as I promised them an apple pie...

Hope everyone enjoys the weekend!

Back from getting a real alligator test. Now to see how long for results.
Got breakfast at Chick-fil-A and nursing the rest of the coffee. I’m not a coffee drinker, but it helps with congestion.
Kitty on me
Wife wants me to wear mask. Makes it hard to drink, wipe nose and breathe in general.

Good morning! 36˚F cloudy, light rain. Had an automated text last night from the "farm" saying abruptly: "Your shift has been deleted." A follow-up text was a little nicer saying the "farm" will be closed because of the weather have a nice day off and stay warm. Yea!!!

Fuddy, Happy Anniversary!

Ron, prayers for your BIL going to Hospice care.

Buckeye, yikes sounds like you got bit, too bad there is not a test to test the test.

Helo, hope you are not coming down with it also. If everybody would behave themselves the world would save a lot of money that is spent on armies.

Good Morning.
24 when I woke up at 7, now 29 with a high of 38 this afternoon under sunny skies.

Yesterday went as well as could be expected, winds at altitude were 125kts out of the west, giving us a substantial headwind on the way to Florida, but a nice push coming home. Here’s another view of Cape May, NJ, this time at night. It’s easy to see the inhabitant areas by the lights. Atlantic City is at the top right of the lighted area.

It started snowing very lightly as we we approached Philadelphia, but nothing on the ground.
By the time I got home it was a different picture, very well lit by the LED flood light on the shop.

Here was the view this morning-

Did get to play music last night, so it was a pretty full day overall.

Not much planned for today, I’ll have to see what it can get into.

DIL and grandson had symptoms like BEF, but never tested positive. Son had confirmed alligator bite, but recovered much quicker than they did. He did take Paxlovid, though.

Morning all;
It's been a nice lazy morning for me today, slept in a bit. Then my grandaughter that spent the night decided it was time to be up and moving around. Had some breakfast, cleaned up from breakfast, read the news a bit. The people in the western end of the state are sure getting hammered with snow over 5' almost 6 in places. Here on the eastern side the little bit of snow we had the other day is just about all melted off. I've been putting off mounting the tire chains on the Branson, never took them off the IH. Got my wifes snow tires on the other day need to put mine on soon, before it bites me in the butt.
All of you getting these colds or gator bites get well, seems like this upper respiratory virus is hitting many people hard. Had my bout a month ago took a bit to get over it.
Just about finished with my last cup of coffee for the morning.
Time to do something, I suppose.

Morning all, sun is up and its about 30 going up to a blazing 41
Today I will see if I can get myself together to prep the front garage wall, remove outlet boxes, fill in holes etc. and Order the foam panels.

Fuddy - happy 50th anniversary ! and many more happy ones.
Prayers for your BIL Ron

Part of my wifes family from Buffalo ,many years ago we were talking about how much snow they got, and she said it wasn't too bad. This was after a week of snow and they were up to 10 feet!

My GM used to tell me stories from her childhood in Denver, with snow so high they went in through the upstairs window one year and her father made snow shoes from barrel slats to get home.

Rip - prayers for your FIL

My wifes still has the affects of this coughing virus, but is feeling better. BEF and everyone, rest seems to be the only help and she uses Mucinex (but this is not medical advice).

L4N - could use those fans to power and airboat ?

Love the pictures of Cape May PopG - Wife followed with a conversation about going back this summer, or visiting dad and uncle in Cali. if plan tickets not too bad.

We had some very light snow last night, dog is getting excited.

Stay well,

Buckeye, Take care of yourself. It is my understanding that the the doctors can do more for you if they see you early. I have wondered if complications from alligatoritis may have got Roy.

Drew, surely they make solar powered bird equipment.

Feels like winter here. Time to do inside stuff.

Chris

It is a Cooler Master HAF 932. It is supposed to blow 932 cu ft/minute of air.
I'll say, that's a serious box.
Can't you just open your window to cool it off?.... ;)

Chris, my solar bird bath water pump works great. Now frozen solid...
I'm going to wait for Popgadget to build one. Inverter to work with 18VDC, I'm sure there are lots of those around.

actually with simple resistive heat, maybe the exact voltage not so important as long as coils heat up adequately.
