Thank you so much...means a lot! My 95 yo Mom said a couple years ago my Dad & my wife's Mom both worked at Sears and they had family Christmas dinners. I would always make faces at this cute little girl & she made them back (we were 5-6)...then years later that was her daughter in law.
We met again as teenagers, haven't been apart more than a few days.

that is an entire chapter right there :)

@kenmbz - my wife wanted to learn to shoot a number of years ago. I tried getting her comfortable with what i already owned. Basically, she hated them all. So took her to the gun store and let her handle/pick a gun.

She ended up with a Rossi 971 revolver (.38/.357). And with training in safety/handling/sight picture/etc., she became very proficient very quickly. The Rossi got recalled which morphed into a Taurus revolver as a replacement.

She now is proficient with a fair number of handguns, but still prefers the basic DA revolver. The process was very eye opening to me. Made me a big believer in letting the woman make the choice.

I know what you mean. Dang it, I have bought my wife all kinds of guns and she just doesn't like any of them. Guess I'll just keep trying. :)

Good morning !
-4 C with some snow later afternoon. Hope to start test new broom and snow plow. I got them late spring, too late for real tests. Looks like finally winter is here

Went to parade y-day. 10 y ago our army was like advanced rescue team with some rifles. Guys with helicopters where transporting injured from remote areas to hospitals and helped to track down those lost in forests. And it was just fine. Then our big neighbor started to make strange movements. And we have spent fortune on howitzers and armored vehicles. That is well spent money, maybe we should have spent even more. But man, looking on those "advanced tractors" I coudnt stop thinking about what we could have done with that fortune. And everybody is doing that because of those rus bastards. 10 years ago, apart ouf ours here was only our neighbors (EST & LIT) marching. You know, those "wedding soldiers" units - like Brits have guys with red uniforms and bear hats. Yesterday here was Canadians, US ship, Danish, Spanish, Slovakian, Polish, Italian tanks. Some more, I dont recall anymore. Really like a lot for so small country. no other options ....

Today wife went to funeral. Her "uncle" passed. I really didnt like that man, way to much drinking has made hard time for his wife (which is sister of my wife's mother) and his daughters, which are really nice persons. Anyway I feel like cold or flu so decided to stay at home. At beginning wife was angry on me, but later she admit that staying at home is good decision
So a bit of hard time, but nothing bad

Good morning, 26 going to high of 41 today. No snow in forecast thankfully. The snowfall in Buffalo is historic and even with them being used to this it is a lot of cleanup and risks for building collapse.
Watered the newly planted Leland Cypress and Green Giant trees yesterday and blew out the hoses. Ground will freeze so that will be last watering this year.
The excavator thumb is back working. Somehow the setting was changed to hydraulic hammer which made it one way acting. Using gloves may have inadvertently pushed some controls.
Daughter had her hip replacement Dr checkup and she is making good progress and angle of movement changed from 17 degrees to 47 degree. She works from home already full time except for appointments for PT and followup and that is only 3 weeks out from surgery.
Sealed up a couple of more windows for winter.
Helo, invasion of Ukraine have caused many countries to boost defense spending and make plans to step up to Nato targets for spending on defense. Many countries have been lagging and relying on US as the backstop so some of the social welfare spending will be under pressure.

Having a cup of tea this morning. 19° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 26° with more snow flurries in afternoon. Add 25+mph winds. Should be a good day to stay inside. Got snow shovels and ice melt on back porch. Cleaned up couple inches of snow off walkways. Got Trac-Vac repairs done. Then got metal and parts together hose support. May work on that today in shop.
Had a long talk with my sister in AZ yesterday. My BIL is going on Hospice Care. Prayers needed for them please.
Stay warm.

good morning all
brrrr, 25 out now, only getting up to 41 today

Dennis, get that second test, brother tested negative five days in a row, took different test at drugstore, positive. Feel better soon.

Ron, prayers and best wishes for your BIL. That is one seriously fat squirrel.

I think the biggest snow storm I can remember was 32 inches. 4 feet, or more, is just nuts.

still haven't cleaned out the garden, at least it's sunny today, will see if I get motivated. Need to go food shopping this morning, get food to take
with me on trip so I don't have to eat fast food. Going to pack the cooler, fridge in hotel room will get a workout

sure wish it was going to be warmer in NC next week. Nope, all this cold air is down there too.

four bird feeders now up and full. If they climb the shepherd's hooks, which I expect, I'll buy the coolie hat preventers.
There is so much seed on ground that is easy to get to, but squirrels seem to like the challenge.

be well, be happy, be kind.

Good morning, low temp 23 and the high to 30°F. Wind S 8 mph. A few flurries. Snowing right now and we've got an inch since I went to bed. Snow squall warning in effect. Block heater turned on. I might be able to try out my new to me V plow.

Going to take my computer apart on Sunday and replace all of the 12 year old fans in the case. There are 3 of 320 mm and one 140 mm fans to replace. We are putting all 140s back in.

Nice chubby squirrel, how many for a pot of stew?

Not much to do today except maybe plow.

Have a safe day all

Bill, you have four fans in one pc? Or is it a big server case?

   / Good morning!!!! #159,219
oh my looked outside and it's all white out, we got a nice dusting before the precip left.
And I have a bunch of big birds hanging out, one sitting in the frozen water, though maybe he's melting it
for a drink?

I really need to take the screen out of this window so I can get better pictures.

any idea on how to water the birds without electricity in freezing weather?

c'mon Makita, make a cordless heated bird waterer...

(I bet Popgadget could make one, 60W heater, mini inverter, etc)
