well my day improved. New freezer getting delivered on Wednesday, and found a storage home locally for my gravel driveway planer.
Relative has a local farm with a long gravel driveway and he was very interested in using it on his place. So a win win. I'll take it over on Saturday.

came home and picked a nice handful of radishes. A few split, a few nibbled on, wondering if I have grubs in my raised gardens.
And if so, how to get them out without chemicals.

Good choice Drew fake plants and Fake Fish too those should last forever!
they actually did have some live underwater plants that looked more interesting.
poor fish come up and nibble on that plastic stuff, must be mighty depressing...

beginning to think one of those lizards, well a pair, would be fun. I had a nice chat with that little fellow
in the pic and he rolled his eyes at me. Didn't know if he wanted to say hi or chew on me.
Maybe with my glasses I looked like a big bug.

M7040...strong thoughts and speedy recover for your daughter. :)

Good morning, 48 going to 62 rain in the forecast today.

Daughter is in surgery for hip replacement this morning. She has literally organized this among her friends as a military mission setting up dedicated WhatsApp channel and prepared it all down to the smallest detail. Should be out of surgery later this morning.
Surgery went well. She took a long time in recovery due to dizziness and being nauseous but got up and made first step

Amazing up and walking a few hours after surgery. Believe the plan is to discharge later today. Being young in the thirties helps for sure. She has struggled with this hip problem since the teen years and time had come to not delaying it since it was starting to affect her spine and she had back problems from compensating for the hip problem

North Bay trip was uneventful. One speed trap in the usual place at the bottom of a big hill. Two cars passed me (I was doing 115 kph/72 mph) and the cop never even blinked. Limit there was 100 kph (62.5 mph).

I love flying and actually enjoy flying upside down. I should've gotten my PPL when I had the chance (read money) but I didn't have the time. Now I have the time but not the money. Oh well, if I really want to fly I have Microsoft flight sim.

M7040, good on your daughter to be up and running (sort of) this soon after surgery. Hope the rest of her recovery goes as good.

M7040, good to hear your daughter is up and mobile already! I would classify as a success!

LFN, I, too, regret not finishing my PPL. I had started, completed the ground school, but never got more than a handful of flight hours. Ran out of both money and time.

Drew, is Martin's aquarium still open in Jenkintown? I think they are closed now but couldn't find a definite answer. I remember always going there as a kid.... it was like a giant zoo where you could purchase monkeys, alligators, exotic birds.... all sorts of critters.

A successful day on the home front. All oil changes done, drip system modified and flowing nicely.

Had an early dinner, L/O's from last nights steak dinner.... it was still great! Wifey made some mixed berry filled danish... eagerly awaiting to have some with vanilla ice cream later.

Time to go put the feet up.....

this is for you Navy guys
after almost five years the USS Gerald Ford is finally on its way, coming into Halifax Canada.
In the pic is a cruise ship dock, I remember visiting Halifax on that cruise ship about ten years ago.
I always thought the Canadians were extra friendly.

this ship produces enough electricity for 250,000 homes. An amazing floating city and your tax
dollars hard at work. Sistership coming out in 2024. Incredibly complex machines. I do wonder what an EMP would do
to shut it all down very quickly. That ship would be hard to paddle.

Deterrence. Hope it works. And a continued thank you to our folks in uniform.
I've never seen a decent sized ship in my life. It must be amazing to watch.
Apparently USA is sending 6 old B52 bombers over here to Tindal in the NT. (as deterrent) Personally I welcome American partnership in defence. There was a stealth bomber flying around here recently but sadly I missed seeing that too. I daresay in the future we will see more of them.

Heat has been exhausting lately. I bought a new AC home yesterday to replace the one in our bedroom that died a year or so ago. Old one was a Panasonic and lasted for many years but couldn't find a similar one so went with a Dimplex. Seems to have no negative reviews so crossing fingers.
After some very hot days it is now raining again. Not needed so I will be happy when it is gone.

0W20, bought on sale at Costco.
.

I have 3 vehicles now that take 0W20. Notice I’m down to 6 qts, and is over $40 now at Costco. I’m waiting for their $10 off sale on it.

Happy Halloween.

No trick or treaters here either. At our last house in a development we would get hundreds.
Wife did bring in a bowl of candy.

M7040 glad surgery went well.
Celebration of life ceremony I went to yesterday was for a former neighbor of yours over along the mountain near the AT.

Nice biplane pic.
