Our daughter in Vilnius loving the place:

: I’m loving it here. The art. The quiet streets. The colors. The entire vibe.
: I wish I could stay longer but I’ll definitely be back.

Morning all, rain is on the way.
Movie night went really well, food is all gone. Family and dog still in sleep mode.

Alien-our thoughts for your wife to get a good eval.

BEF - we have a crazy neighbor, lots of trees between us and he's not a bother as long as we stay away.
Hope they back off and respect the actual property lines and mellow out.

Scaredy - sorry to hear about the the issues, hopefully it will work out, know the feeling and empathize.

PopG - so glad everything went well, a lot to coordinate and prepare. Big day with great results always makes the effort worthwhile.

Night shot of the AtmosFX stuff, screen on the right, blow up 3d ghost projection on the left.
The Ghost blow up has a leak, so will need to fix that. Gotta go get the rest of the stuff in before the rain starts.

Change in plans (what's new?)
Taking wifey out for a while...no idea where we'll go or end up...but I'm sure it'll cost me money (i.e. Walmart)

Well, no snow in the forecast and temperatures should be in the upper 50's for the next week or so.
While we're out, I need to get winterized windshield washer fluid (for the tractor and the truck) and one or two tubes of grease

Ken has the most well entertained squirrels and deer in Eastern PA.
would be fun to turn around at end of movie and see a whole line of deer sitting watching the movie
Almost like Thomas does every night.
Now to design the one button put away model

if you teach electronics to drink, they will soon learn to smoke.

71° and .01 inches rain.

In 2007 I installed 11 outside rated fluorescent fixtures. They all hang from the 4x10 roof beams. The hangars are a galvanized metal, 2 piece affair that hasn’t weathered well. Some failing
FullSizeRender.JPG

A couple weeks ago, I determined a method to fix, replacing the hangar with a U shaped bracket made from 1x1/8 flat aluminum.
Yesterday we replaced 3. Takes about 1 1/2 hours to take down light, remove old hangar, clean light, fab & install new bracket, and reinstall fixture. My above grown work is slower these days

Finished day with run to brewery for resupply.

Football today.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

59F and gray. It's gray because we are under an air quality alert.

My neighbor is decorating for Halloween. He strings fishing line between the trees then hangs ghosts and bats and such from the fishing line. We always enjoy it although we never get any trick or treaters. Some people are really into Halloween.

If you're interested in what Florida looks like after the storm.

SC I don't have any advice but I am thinking of you.

69F and sunny @ 12:30, heading up to a high of around 77F.

Absolutely beautiful day yesterday, high hit 70.9F.

Ten Day predicting reasonably nice weather (although rain on some days) and warm temps (60's/70's for high temps) through the entire period.

Collected up a bunch of compostable stuff in the bucket of the Kubota and took it to the compost pile first thing. Then did the same with the dump cart which The Woman had filled.

Ran out of gas up at the compost pile, had to walk back down to the house. Dispatched Woman to go pick up gas and diesel, but before She left I put what little gas there was in the can into the Cub and got it moved back down to the house.

While She was gone I loaded some 5 gallon buckets in the dump cart.

Refueled Cub and Kubota after She got back.

Woman worked most of the afternoon on cleaning out better than a dozen buckets and a bunch PVC pipe and fittings from over in the barn. PVC fittings will need boxed up today and moved back over.

I then spent the rest afternoon and evening organizing tools and supplies and materials onto two of the work tables.

Plus I also pulled the rest of the ballasts in the 8' fluorescent fixtures and got some of the knockouts punched out and romex clamps installed. Those all got put on a pallet of OSB and plywood and tarped.

Also worked on cutting the bad parts out of a long braided rope and melting the ends. Some that will be used to replace the polypropylene pull ropes on the overhead doors which have deteriorated due to UV damage. Managed to slice my hand with the razor knife somehow while doing that.

Floor in the barn is so dry that driving over it turns it into a fine dust about like confectioners sugar ... which is several inches deep in spots. My dark brown work boots now appear to a light tan. Drives me nuts.

Another large bowl of chili with shredded cheddar cheese for dinner.

Then some more of "The Rings of Power" on Amazon Prime.

Agenda today is back to working on the gutters.

Hope everyone is having a great Sunday ... (y)

I'm back !!!
Good morning to all! Low of 52°, going up to the mid 60's today but that will change tonight..... Winds today with gusts over 55 mph, chance of some rain showers / snow showers overnight. Low tonight forecasted to go as low as 25°. The next few days will be the typical fall 'rollercoaster ride' ---- temps doing the dramatic ups and downs --- high temp for Tuesday only expected to hit 45°. Then back into the high 60's by Thursday.

I decided that a self imposed ban from any type of social media was needed for my well being. We had 6 days of cloudy / rainy weather (a good thing as we have had over 4 1/2" of rain over the last few weeks) but not so good for me.... went down too many rabbit holes on multiple platforms....
This resulted in my mental health taking drastic U-turns, becoming aggressive, agitated, euphoric, and depressed..... just not good!

Also dealing with the red tape of my disability/retirement stuff. The issues have been dealing with sending files and records over the past year (yes, almost a year) and the 'powers that be', loosing one or two pages. That then sets the whole process back to the beginning. Now they possibly want additional medical assessments done.... I almost feel defeated. How can they question documented medical records? I think progress has been made this past week.... after our attorney got involved.

And, while I was sucked into the quagmire of social media, more family drama reared it's ugly head. Nothing too bad, but just compounded the problems. Basically the oldest son got involved with a true "gold digger" girlfriend. He fell hook, line, and sinker, for her sob-story. He handled it well, now we are all dealing with the fallout from that now.

I'm still trying to get caught up on here.... something like 40-50 pages. I might not go back that far.... I only checked back a couple of recent pages.
It seems like a lot of issues going on... hopefully they will all get straightened out without too much trouble.

BEF, hope you get the land property lines straightened out.
Scaredy chicken, I hope you can overcome the wife/family issues.
Paul, looks like you had a successful ceremony for your son and wife!
Roy, hope you get well soon!
Kyle, a new toy...ehhh...tool! Hope you can find time to get it set up!
RNG, sounds like you had a nice road trip!
Thomas, are you winning the battle against the leaves?
Doug, sorry about the plane. I have always been told it's a matter of when, not if you crash. I have lost count of how many planes I have turned into confetti!

The weather put a damper on our courtyard project, nothing done with the walkway yet. Did plant a couple more trees in the area, and 4 groupings of mums. We might be able to start on doing the walkway borders mid-week (at least that's what we're hoping for) as long as we don't get too much rain or snow.

The fields got mowed, most things prepared / stowed for winter. Just a few more little things to prep. Need to grease the tractor and change the oil. Next week or 2, I'm hoping to get more gravel for the drive... about 45 tons should do....

I have a couple little woodworking projects on the back burner.... maybe get to do those sometime this week. Still didn't get the new (to me) dust collector hooked up. That may be a good winter project when it's too cold outside for anything else.

Next month will be busy.... appointment with the ortho surgeon, wifey and I both need eye exams and new glasses, then maybe I'll have to do those medical exams for the insurance. Then Max goes for a vet appointment to get his teeth cleaned. He's 4 years old and has really bad plaque buildup..... he needs a thorough exam.... too young to have bad teeth already!

Today will be a rest / relaxation day, looking forward to watching the Formula 1 race being run down in Austin today. Only 2 formula 1 races are held in the US.... one in Miami in the spring and this one in Austin. Surprisingly, there are no US drivers in either race....

Everyone have a great day!

Social media, IMHO, is a total waste of time

Yeah, I normally only go to Farcebook for a couple of Schnauzer forums and LS tractor forums, but got sucked in deep..... I even got trapped by YouTube, which I very rarely visit unless redirected there.....

There are a lot of rabbit holes..... some good, some really bad. I will avoid getting myself caught in that BS again. I definitely was amazed and dumbfounded with some of the stupid people on there... not all of them are, but a lot!

Our trees here are barely turning color, just a few fallen leaves, but the Aspens on the mountains are a vibrant golden yellow that you can see for miles. To get other colors, you have to go into the valleys. Only Aspens and evergreens up on the mountains.

You were gone?😳😂 Glad you're back, and hope things straighten out soon for you and yours. Seems like the change of seasons always gets things going sideways.
Next week or 2, I'm hoping to get more gravel for the drive... about 45 tons should do....
I was thinking about you a couple days ago when I spread 20 tons or so. You make it sound so easy, but I'll be darned if I got anything close to an even spread. Still need another 40 tons or so to finish it, and I'm really not looking forward to the trucking charges.

when you need a carrier vehicle and not a tractor
I think there are only two of these and they likely had to hide them from the Russians

I wonder what the ride is like bobbing around in that operator capsule.

tractors are up to 700hp now so this isn't that much of a leap, guessing it is twin engine at 1100hp.
not for us, but maybe thinking out of the box for Kansas wheat fields that go on forever.
Ukraine is not only very industrial but also has exceptional farmland, why the country has always been desired by others.
My grandfather's family farmed there, in Western Ukraine.

Ted, nice to hear from you. Slow and steady wins the race, sorry you are having to jump through unnecessary hoops.
illegitimi non carborundum

being exceptionally lazy today. No rain yet, may be fizzling out

61°F and some passing showers this morning, going up to 80° today. Even saw/heard some lightning and thunder in a couple of them. Not a lot of rain, but every little bit helps.

Rented a U-Haul box truck yesterday morning and moved the stuff we have in storage to a different facility. The one we've been in for about nine years was bought by another company two years ago, and they've raised the rates three times since. This last notice was enough. I did confirm yesterday that I am old, fat, and out of shape. I have acquired a lot of music equipment over the last four decades, and moving all that heavy stuff twice in one day required much more stamina that I currently have. Just the music gear alone filled half of a 15 foot truck. But, Wife and I got it done. We rewarded ourselves with tacos for (late) lunch, then a short nap. Pretty sore today.

Got a few more things knocked off the Honey Do List this morning. Got some pegboard cut to size for The Wife's paintings rack, cut and installed a new rod for the spare bedroom closet, hten cut down a couple pieces of 1/2" foam core board, to be covered with flannel for her new project wall in the sewing room. Still need to move the television in the spare bedroom, but that's not going to happen today.

Best wishes for your wife, Doug.

Hope you can get everything worked out, SC.

Nice pics, Paul. Glad everything went well.

Happy (belated) Birthday, BEF.

Glad you're still with us, Ted. We were starting to get worried. I occasionally go through self-imposed bans on social media as well. It's entirely too easy to get sucked into that world of other people's drama.

Good afternoon, gents.
