The root ball has a lot of dirt in it making it very heavy to lift and it was at the limit for the loader to pick up. So dropped it and used the minix to hack some of the dirt off before moving it out
Dropping stumps works well to knock the dirt off of them. But I learned the hard way that they can bounce into the front of the tractor sometimes. Haven't broken anything like that, yet...

Agree, but in this case I could barely lift it off the ground more than a few inches

How are they the neighbors from hell?

We first met the people making hay. They had left a hay rake on “my” lot. Neighbors had left a note on it saying they were trespassing. The rake was over 300 yards from the line.
So after talking with them awhile, we went down to the area where the neighbors have been mowing on “my” lot.
Neighbor woman comes down. Our first meeting. Wanted to know if she could help us. I said no, we are buying this lot and are looking at it. She said, you’re on my lot. I replayed, no, I know where the property corner is )pointing over to it), and I have a copy of the survey. She replies this land is ours. I again mentioned I know where the line is.
We left her and looked around, walked up to other end. (And the hay guys had mowed off 5 of the 6 septic stakes🤬). the neighbor and her husband were walking up in the corner behind their house (i saw a pink flag up there) and they went down to other end. I half expected they would pull the flags there.
We talked some more with the baler guy
IMG_6825.JPG
, and as we were walking to our vehicle noticed the neighbor lady had driven another no trespassing sign in the ground well on “my” lot.
We left then.

I just can’t believe people would act like that the first meeting.

I will have a surveyor set stakes on the property line, the same surveyor who did the survey when it was just subdivided in July. I’m not getting involved with the neighbor, I’ll let surveyor and lawyers handle it.

But the whole incident was depressing to say the least.

In Virginia:

Does not seem to need to be posted. The land needs to be posted to ban trespassing.
/edit - to clarify - it looks like hunters and fishers require permission from the owner regardless of if it's posted or not. But apparently others, like hikers only need permission if it's posted.
In Mississippi everyone needs permission to go on other peoples land.
Whereas in Vermont they are proud of letting people go on unposted land.

Read my earlier post. Found out The reason the neighbors posted their land (and some of mine) is the guy who has been cutting hay there for 10 yrs drove his tractor across the corner of the neighbors lot. Instead of walking over and saying something, they put up multiple signs and parked a truck between them. The hay guys didn’t know.

Real sorry about those neighbors. They've probably been using that land like their own for a long time if no one lived there.

They just bought theirs 2 months ago from same realtor and same owner. The lots were just subdivided in July. All markers are still visible.

BEF, We had a neighbor that after buying was telling me his property line was several hundred ft into our land based on who sold it had told them "where the line was". Bill said etc.......... Walking down the corners with them and showing them the property stakes convinced them that they had been had. And then we had another new neighbor that simply asked me to show him the line and he has respected that except he wants to cut down his trees.

To be honest, I don't think your CK30 will have the "oomph" necessary for a decent backhoe
But, best of luck!!!
Ha ha, Yeah I wasn't really talking about my CK30, just a backhoe in general.

Good evening Everyone,

I have been offline for 3 days, and now I am 16 pgs behind.

Long Story - things on the homefront are not going well, wife and I are trying to work things out, but she has basically decided that her dad (and sister) take priority over me and the marriage. She will be moving both of them back to Prince George in the coming days, and has in the meantime requested that I stay elsewhere until things settle down (I go home most days to take care of the critters at this point). Anyways, time will tell how this all works out, but I'm still praying that she is interested in the marriage. I am staying at a buddies place for a day or two (therefore no internet until now). I'm hoping that after an 11 month absence, this is just another glitchy detail to get through before we can chat. I am hopeful, but not naive. The outside interference in the marriage has not helped at all. I'm Trusting God (Proverbs 3:5-6) whatever happens.

The Shipping Container is a bonus as we clean out the garage.

I will reply again, but just needed to send you all a quick note, in case anyone missed me.

There is a cord and a half left to go in, but first we gotta make room for it. Note to self; I should have got the 24' conveyor rather than the 16 footer.
The 16 footer is extendable to 24 with trough extensions (basicaly just another trough 8' long) and the chain. Maybe a bigger Honda or a different drive pully.
With this cool damp weather my knees act up constantly. I keep them swimming in CBD oil and that helps some, but the best help is when I get fried in the evenings.

I have the same problems to varying degrees but found that exercise helps. I walk 3 miles or so daily and then do 30 or 40 knee bends and stretches and I have found it really helps in my case. My issue was beginning cramps that woke me up and if I did not get up right away it would develop quickly into a more severe cramp

Thanks,
Thought about that. Not quite as active as when younger, but I do 6 minutes on Treadclimber increasing speed every 30 seconds, followed by 6 miles on recumbent bike where I increase intensity steps every .5 miles, reaching max (25) last 2.5 miles. Average ride time about 17 minutes. Usually 7 mornings a week, but may miss 1 if going someplace before 7AM.
Already had both knees replaced so thinking the bike as just continuation of that rehab.
According to my Apple Watch I usually exceed my Stand Goal of 12 most days. Guessing I might not be considered sedentary quite yet.

David, I have pains in lower legs/ankles too. My brother swears by his compression socks and anklets. He puts on the anklet first, then the compression sock. Says they help him great. You can buy them in differing compression levels. I was wondering if anyone here has any experience with them?

My pain is not the same as gout (like I had about 25 years ago when I drank 2-3 beers/day).

Thanks Kyle. I have a pair with foot up to top of calf. Going to give a try.

/ Good morning!!!! #157,798
Thanks Doug, don’t think I’ll trade with you.
I am not a big water drinker, so hydration maybe a factor. So, have to wonder if having to get up for bathroom run without the pain is a good tradeoff. Of course, I prefer not having to get up at all.

/ Good morning!!!! #157,799
Wife use compression socks to reduce swelling and it helps her a lot. She puts them on in the morning and takes them off in the evening when she gets into the easy chair.

Now you have me wondering when to wear during day? Thinking I’m going to try end of day before bed.
