Scaredy - how are you healing up, getting easier to move around?

Thanks for asking kenmbz.

I would have said it's still a slow recovery, but my post minutes ago indicates a set-back. Your timing was perfect. :) Anyway, shoulder is a bit stressed / sore from last night's fall, and with some new pains, but I'll be okay.
Would be nice to get a full breath in, but ribs are complaining still

m7040 - there is a lot going on for you and your family. Definitely Praying for all of that

Good Morning All,

Reader caution - details are not pleasant, but I'm okay

Well Guys, late last night I FELL again, my wife was right there and could do nothing.

By announcing that I fell, I mean that this time it hurt. (I will typically fall 5-6x weekly, but I get up again and dust myself off, carry on. Freaks out my friends a bit, until they know the getting up routine.)

It happens so quickly, losing my balance in a split second, that there is nothing that I can do except "prepare" for a landing on the floor. I go down instantly, in slow motion.

I saw the concrete wall of the garage, and knew that if my head / face hit that ... who knows - broken nose, broken neck? I managed a slight roll, and my face landed in the open doorframe about 2 inches from the concrete. Thanking the Lord, it could have been a lot worse. My wife said - is this a hospital run ? NO, I'm assessing the damage. The hospital is 20 minutes away, and the Emergency Room track record is 3-4 hours before treatment.
It took me the next 30 mins agonizing on the floor, to work up the mental and physical energy to cope with just getting up. Even that process was going to hurt. Wife assisted, once I managed to roll onto stomach. I relied on her physically to brace me (not pick me up) as I crawled back to my feet. I hope that I didn't cause her any bruises as I gripped her arms.
- did not hit my head
- did not break anything obvious
- no blood
- but completely winded myself for about a minute ... creating the breathing issues
- hip was very sore, landed on my right side
- my ribs were extremely sore ... also making breathing difficult. Hours later, I think that I probably bruised 3-4 ribs, though none seem cracked or broken. It really hurt when I sneezed though.

I sat down in a chair outside as we took some time to chill. Had a coffee, and back to my recliner chair. My ribs and hip are still very sore, I need to take care just walking at this point. Cane helps ... a bit. I think that I will stay home and watch today's service online.

Hurting, but Thankful. I'll be okay. Thanks for letting me share.

Thank god your are ok
That is scary for sure
Hope you can avoid further falls

Good morning! 50 now, maybe 65 later. Then the bottom falls out, gonna be some very cool days this week.

Hope it was nothing serious damaged in the fall SC. That is scary.

Gonna go get a new chain and bar for the MS290 today. It has a new chain but it won’t stay sharp. The bar has some age to it. But I also have a new chain on the new MS180 that is not keeping an edge like I think it should. The older MS180 has an Oregon chain that is doing well. Decisions on which way to go…..

Did get a trailer full of wood in spite of saw issues. Mostly ash. Likely will split wood later today.

Everyone stay safe out there

Good morning
It’s 52 going to 65 mix of clouds and sun, the sun is supposed to overtake the clouds as the day goes on.

Yesterday was unremarkable flight went well, part repair was easy. Basically take two different fittings, cut them in half and silver solder the proper combination together. Here it is installed and holding pressure. The resulting fitting was 1/4 MPT x 1/2 inverted flare for the power steering.

Today’s project will be to run an Ethernet cable for a camera in the shop to replace an old Foscam WI-FI camera with a Dahua POE one. When I first started tinkering with cameras, I used the Foscams, the Wi-Fi was easy and they were cheap. But as they give up the ghost, I replaced them with higher resolution POE cameras from Dahua.
Amazon says the camera will be here to day, so I’ll run the cable, terminate and test it so I can put the camera up when it gets here.
Not much else planned, I need to make some signs for son’s wedding coming up, and some other stuff that hasn’t occurred to me yet.

54F and partly cloudy @ 11:30, calling for a high of around 66F for the day. Overnight low this morning was 39.2F.

Made a little more progress yesterday:

Got clay piled up under the south and center overhead doors to seal up the building. Still need to compact it though.

Rolled up some dangling romex wires to get them out of the way.

Started digging out the water supply line - it's location needs adjusted to move it a little further north to get the end of the line above floor grade. It's pretty deep ... already down 2'+ and still have a ways to go ... but starting to see the curve where it goes horizontal.

Today I'll use the shrub bucket to remove the overburden, now that I know for certain how deep it is. That will make it a little easier.

Also dug out and located the end of a DVW line that needs completed and stubbed out.

Moved the free table I got from the neighbors inside and got it set up on a pair of sawhorses.

Also moved a box of PVC fittings that will be needed inside.

Unboxed four 8' fluorescent lights and started putting those together. They all need to have the ballasts pulled as the LED tubes I'm using don't require a ballast.

Going to be a lot easier to hang without the ballasts in them ... ;)

Woman worked most of the day on clean up around back ... then came over to help with the excavating ... :giggle:

Looks like we have a mostly clear path to get the chop saw, radial arm, and table saws out and move them over today.

Rest of agenda for the day:

Refill hopper feeder.

Blow leaves out of gutters over at pole barn.

Water supply line excavation.

Finish up removing ballasts from and rewiring 8' light fixtures.

Finish up next Menards order and get that placed so we can use the cold temps and bad weather over the next couple of days to go down and get that picked up.

Plus whatever else comes up.

Hope all those ailing or suffering the slings and arrows of Life are feeling better and improve in short order.

Have a great Sunday ... (y)

67°F and .39 inches rain.

Yesterday’s rain was pretty much easy and steady, beneficial. Lots of happy friends.

May practice some energy conservation today as well as watch some football.

Didn’t get a pic, but braised and cooked a chuck roast in the instant pot yesterday. Melt in your mouth good. Leftovers today.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
