Good morning!!!!

Our driveway is starting to show its age with cracks and deterioration in some spots. Considering the cost to repave I think I will just live with it and patch if need be. The driveway is over a 1/4 mile long and there are also a couple of paved parking areas. Will have to be careful with the snow plow come winter to not tear it up more. Will have to look into best ways to patch pavements?

69°F and .1 inches rain.

Need to make a PO run this morning.

The revamping of my tractor shed will start in earnest. Guess maybe last week’s concrete work was actually the start. Could be some bittersweet moments as I decide any number of things just have to go, but have to reduce the crowding Multiple trips to the dump I’m sure. Dump only open Tue, Fri, and Sun. Fun times ahead.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

65F, damp, and partly cloudy @ 11:30, heading up to a high of around 74F with partial clearing and a slight chance of a rain shower. LWS showing that we got 0.34" yesterday plus another 0.52" since midnight.

Ten Day shows a beautiful stretch of weather to end the summer: less than 25% chance of rain every day after today with highs mostly in the upper 70's to mid 80's.

Pain/itching from Yellowjackets stings/bites seems to have gone away, hopefully for good this time.

Went out yesterday and was going to do some screening but it started spitting rain before I even got started. Haven't been outside yet today, might head out here in a little bit and see just how sloppy it is.

If nothing else, get the bird feeders refilled and stick out another suet cake. Probably bait the live trap for the groundhog.

Maybe finish up the mowing over on the west side, with all the rain it won't be long before everything is due to be mowed yet again.

Trash and recyclables will need to be taken up to the cans at the road.

Otherwise may do some screening of that clay.

Also have to make some calls and get pricing on concrete, gravel, fill, and a few other items so I can finish working up the budget on the barn.

Spoke with local friend and got him lined up to provide his laser level for setting grading stakes and air-operated framing nailer to put up the inside skirt boards.

Hope everyone has a great day ... (y)

I found renting a dumpster to be invaluable. It saved time, it saved my muscles, I worked at a pace of my choosing and I ended up loading it with way more than the project at hand.

Perhaps that is an option for you too?

Same problem here after, I'm guessing, 30 years.
Apparently, the original owners went cheap on the driveway bedding too...the drive is far from flat....humped in the middle, lower on the sides...similar to what one would see on a dirt road that wasn't maintained.
My guess is I'd be looking at $20K-$30K to fix it...money I ain't got and too close to retirement to even consider it

Mostly
heart rate according to my Apple watch

Treadclimber - 127 avg, 159 high
Indoor cycle - 84 avg, 88 high. A bit surprising as my poor memory seems to recall usually mid 140s with the built in grips.

Paul, I’ll have to learn more about that Tempest calibration. I gave up looking at mind, just accept the Davis amount. Still like the Tempest for other reasons though.

The contractors showed up, on time and with their full teams. Wednesday the work starts. Barn and run-in get new standing seam roofs. House gets siding and roof repairs. Garage gets repaired.

I may be able to salvage enough metal to build a place for the wife's tractor.

Because....

I don't have enough too do. LOL.

got lawn mowed, sure is humid out, and met with new cleaning lady and hired her. She drove up in late model Cadillac, must be
doing ok...She's Polish and comes highly recommended.

Thanks, Mike
Don’t think (hope) I have that much actual trash. Stuff that will easily fit those heavy duty cleanup bags. I think some will be candidates for recycle bin, other stuff to get listed on Craigslist, some at good price, maybe even some for Free.

Today I was supposed to take some golfers to Gaithersburg for an all day outing. I had planned to Uber to the Udvar-Hazy museum to pass the time. When I told the passengers that we might have to go to Dulles (farther from the golf course, closer to the museum) due to low ceilings and fog, they canceled the trip.

So now I’ve got to figure out how to occupy myself today.

Lousy day for golf. I’m not that far from GaIthersburg, maybe 40 minutes. Udvar-Hazy is nice, if you like airplanes.

It was a lousy day for disc golf also. Pic shows the 9th hole pole (left side middle by tree line). Too hot and air warning, and all the 3 par holes should have been 6 par. Wore Whipper and me out.
