Good (Saturday) morning. Overnight Low of 4.6C, it's overcast and calm. There was another 1.0mm of rain in the gauge @ 0900. It's presently 13.5C.

The 'rain event' is still predicted for tomorrow and into Monday, perhaps 35mm, but the 'Flood Watch' warning (and now there's a 'Sheep Graziers' warning) is a precautionary alert to get livestock to higher ground. It's not going to be all that bad, we're just saturated from fairly steady rain over the months due to La Nina... which the BoM has declared that we're heading into a third year of this.

Of course, three years ago we were coming out of a drought situation. It's all cyclical.

I went out right before dark to investigate where to punch a hole in the garage wall for my starlink cable. Pulled back a piece of vinyl siding under the dish, drilled small pilot hole which didn’t go all way thru, got longer bit and hit insulation, Then drilled 3/4” hole. Went inside in crawl space and couldn’t find the hole, back out and stuck long drill bit it. Back inside finally found it, having to feel up behind the insulation. So got my starlink router upstairs in utility room that my mobley sits in, now I can move whole house to starlink.
What started out as just checking it out finished with the job done.
Now I can move extension ladder back to the barn.

Kitty missed me. I won’t wake her to go move the house internet cable.

Good evening all. 73ºF for the start, calm wind, mostly clear sky. Light wind with some moderate gusts, partly cloudy sky, and high temp was 95ºF, HI 98ºF. Bike rid to start day, mowed the few patches still growing, and cleaned fridge coils. Had to use compressed air, no room to work brushes on anything but front side . Turned shop vac and wife's vac in back. Got most of dust off coils and in vacs. Celebrated with nap Tried Korean BBQ tonight, spicy but good.
David bet your glad you hired the roof work out
RS glad you got a conserve energy day mid-week. Good to see more pots getting planted in ground, was wondering how much the plants will do this late in year. nice pics

It's been a busy day, nothing work wise, but merely a bunch of errands.

Ordered a bunch of parts for the jeep, I'll go locally for a few bearings tomorrow, and get back to work on it. Broke the bad news to the daughter and boyfriend.... he sent another couple hundred bucks to get the rest of the parts.

No rain today, not even any distant storms.... they all moved west to Arizona. Sophie might be getting a little wet, but nothing like home, I'm sure.....

Don, saw yours...looks like a nice big tractor you'll be using. I enjoy not having a cab, but the dust does get old.

Had a great hike in the mountains yesterday as the humidity fell to a level not noticeable, and temps in mid 60s. Seems like lots of other folks got bit by the mountain bug on a cool day...haven't seen that many other hikers all summer combined.

56 high of 78 today beautiful moon last night too 6 point bucks in back yard still friends but not much longer as rut is comin. One of the most respected timber rattlers died recently 80 years old snake bite.

Good morning! The coolest morning we had had for a few weeks at 71˚F, however the high will still be 100˚, reminding us it's still mid August in Texas.
Wngsprd, a mid 60˚ hike, how nice.
The hiking club will soon start to mark and clear new trails as our neighborhood continues to expand across upper Berry Creek, looks like this Fall will be a busy time for me.
The Low in the Gulf only increased our rain chance to 10% Sunday, hopefully South TX will get some relief from the drought.

Finish trimming almost 4 hours of mowing done yesterday.

Good Morning!!!! 69F @ 5:15AM. Sunny. High 99F. Winds light and variable.

Yesterday I spent way too much time digging a short trench to the gate post where a small electrical cabinet will be mounted. Didn't get it as deep as I'd have liked because there were so many rocks. I also need to repair a weld that has started to crack on one of the gate hinges. That means moving the welder and generator up to the gate. And since the generator is mid way through a propane fuel conversion, it means finishing that first. Not what I had in mind for today, but it'll be a nice change of pace not digging for a day. And once the generator is up there, I'll use the electric impact hammer on the rocks, which will be a lot easier on my arms than the six foot digging bar.

Not sure what I'll get into once the temps start to sizzle, but a siesta is sounding pretty good.

66 outside this AM, be lucky to see 80 today. Nice and cool this AM. I see the misting off the pool in the sunshine. All the horses in the back were at attention this AM, so I waited and watched. Yep, buppies buck was walking the fence line. LOL. Funny how only boys garner the attention of the herd. Walking the routine I noticed the grass can use another cut. But I have fallen behind on the trimmer work and fence lines. Today might be the day. Although the Milk House calls. I managed to get the foam board for two more sides. I should put that project into high gear. or at least make it a daily task....but you all know...other things pop up.

We shall see what today brings. Think I will start with another cup of coffee and go enjoy the front porch views.

Not enough trash to justify a dump run. Grass doesn't need mowing either.
I do need to trim some more branches...then chip...no hurry on that since mowing season will soon be over
