Yep, I had a ‘67 350 Horse SS, quick but not 375 quick.

A high school class mate’s parents ordered him a 396/360 at start of the 66 model year and he got his before thanksgiving 1965. He was the big dog ....... for a while.

I’d saved majority of money I made from working in high school and ordered mine in March 1966 paying cash. The local Chevy dealer had just found out the availability of the 375HP engine during time we were negotiating. My SS396/375 arrived just before my high school graduation.

Needless to say ...... I became the big dog, that summer, beating my friend 12 straight times.

Rick, do you remember how many miles you got out of that first set of tires? Wide Ovals? Polyglas GT's? boy have tires come a long way
Engines made plenty of power but you couldn't get hooked up

For Eric, you will be pleased that my sister will be putting her new grandson to sleep with a proper British tractor bedtime book.
I sent this to the parents in NYC with a JD sippy cup and a couple of tiny tshirts with tractors on them

So we will make the website about our making an old place with a horrible reputation into a jewel. At one time some years ago there was 3 single wides and an old shop made into an apartment on it. We bought it because it had a water meter, a well, four electric bases, and two septic tanks.

Sounds good, Harvey. Hope you and Glenda enjoy the place.

Are you talking about Milford, MI, just south of Flint? I believe it was about 1984 when I visited the GM Proving Grounds there; very interesting place. Fleet management was part of my job at the time and I had gone to the annual fleet managers meeting in Flint, then we went on a bus for a tour of the proving grounds. I remember there was a vehicle up on a lift that I'd never seen and when someone asked about it, our guide said he couldn't talk about that one. I think it hit the market the following year and was called an Astro Van.

And who, our age, doesn't remember Joie Chitwood?

Yes it is Milford, MI. I made bimonthly visits there certifying there balancing machines. Lots of interesting cars and trucks to see. We also see lots of cars and trucks on our roads with camouflage paint jobs and covers to hide there identity.

There are usually 2 version a 27 and a 27F back in the day we always called the "F" the Ford version and the post were swapped was the only difference.

Brings back old, not necessarily good, memories. My Dad bought a service station when I was 16, and of course I had to help him. That Winter, on a cold morning, the Mayor called and said his car wouldn't start. He asked if we could go put a new battery in it, sitting in his driveway. So I did. I thought it was odd that those cables were so much trouble. I reckon you've guessed by now what I did. Yep, the reversed polarity ruined that battery, but fortunately didn't hurt the car, a Plymouth. And I learned a lesson that I never forgot.

Good afternoon! 93˚ according to the neighborhood Wunderground station.

Drew, Whipper has not barked since we arrived. She is mostly in the Sunroom, only wanting to venture out with us, just the opposite when she lived in the country.
I though she would be insecure. We have joined the pet club. We have already signed her up for the neighborhood beginner dog training classes in July. This fall she will go to the next level of training. The dog whisperer just got off the phone after a hour 30 minute talk on the phone and apparently we are doing everything right to help Whipper with this transition, mainly go slow, let her set the pace and keep her in a quiet environment and do not go to the dog park. The dog next door made his first appearance this morning barking like crazy at whipper and only stopped to smell noses. Whipper just ignored him. Last evening after the deer left a coyote trotted across the golf course. Whipper seems to be more afraid of the bad golfers that come too close looking for their balls.
Collected another two balls. Buckeye where were you playing golf?

Harvey, smart move getting a piece of land that has the inter structure - electric, water and sewer in already. Keep us posted with your improvements. Good luck on your the sell of your home, it is very nice and should sell quickly. Texas is said to be in a good selling market, and I believe it after the first person that looked at our place bought it.

My brother bought the first 66 Ram Air GTO from Roughton Pontiac in Norfolk, VA. The Big McKeller #10 cam and kit, as well as the ram air box and scoop grill came in a box in the trunk from Pontiac, along with 4.33 gears to replace the 3.55 units. Dealer installed it all per Pontiac instructions and it was covered by full warranty like any other Pontiac. By late 66 everything but the ram air box was factory installed. By 67 what few Ram Air cars there were came from the factory fully done instead of sending the stock HO 360 horse Tri Power and the horsepower in the trunk, like they did in 66. They were still rated at 360 hp, but NHRA soon refactored them to 375.
