Too hot to mow...it would burn the lawn

My other chore was to grease the tractor and chipper (just 2 fittings on the chipper, probably 18 on the tractor and loader. Bummer is, I got 4 or 5 fittings greased on the loader, then ran out of grease...could have sworn I had another tube.
It's about 85°...not going to run to the hardware store today.
Got Margeaux in the house (fairly cool in here)
Wifey and stepdaughters having a good time in Florida...happy to hear that!!

Glad we could get Drews tractor fixed up.

I did the crawling and Paul did the Welding.
I am glad he did the welding, as I would have needed to redo it twice and then ground it down to look anywhere as good as his.

Paul's place is really nice and we got to meet some family members.
A great morning for me.

Home now and off to fix some stuff and more pool work.
Will need to do some wasp removal tonight, too rainy last night.
1 mud dauber, 1 paper wasp and one yellow jacket in the rock wall by the grill.

Luckily the YJ did not get upset when I was powerwashing near their nest. It had been so dry I think they just liked the water.

And the guard Alpaca Making sure I wasn't causing problems :)

I am very blessed to have two such generous and capable friends nearby.
Most of us don't have a Bridgeport in our garage. Working at Paul's isn't work.
Though we all did get pretty hot outside, Ken and I sweating away over a hot trailer getting hotter by drilling.
Ken was a real trooper, got under the mower where I can't anymore and tirelessly drilled and drilled on the trailer.
It's fun to work with folks who set high standards and enjoy doing what they do.

Paul showed me how to sharpen bits on his bit sharpener. I wrecked five drills on this job before I gave up, and it was no
walk in the park today. It was lean and push and sweat. Thanks to both you guys.

ok, long enough, out to test this contraption. then more pics on the build.

that alpaca is very cool looking. Friendly or does it want a nip out of me like a horse?

Glad the trailer/tractor repair went well.

When can I bring my rim up?

Good worship, I had song leading today.
24 for lunch, we weren’t able to pull tables together for all, so we were at 4 tables.

Got red haven peaches from the orchard.

Nap time.

I'm back already which means it worked!
still sweaty, kinda sticky out there, but gosh was this easier using the small garden tractor.
No issues with traction.
a total success.

look at all the gunk in that filter

tomorrow morning when it's cooler I will flapdisk, sand and clean that welded area, take off the ball, and give it all a couple coats of gloss black Rustoleum. Have a lot of blue taping to do.
Not a fan of overspray.

Good afternoon! 100˚F heading to 102˚, the sky is full of sun and Sahara sand.

Today is National Ice Cream Day, my ripe bananas are in the freezer (The base for my ice cream).

PA crew, good job on Drew's projects.

Popgadget and Drew, I was mistaken the Brownies I make have no maple syrup or sugars. So they are sugar free, gluten free, egg free, oil free, dairy free. The main ingredients are black beans, cocoa, oatmeal and dates.

Below is the Youtube recipe. Instead of the date lady syrup I use 14 dates, and I don't use the plant milk. Chocolate chips are optional and can be dairy free chocolate chips or sugar free dark chocolate chips.

I think that might be really good with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream on top so you can't see it's beans

what a successful morning

It was a fun and productive morning at that, the team worked like a well oiled machine.
My only real comment was that Drew replaced us in the picture with a batch of old guys.
And Ken was a trooper letting my grandson “graze” him with the hose!

Mother Doe brought her 2 fawns for their first visit,20 mins before another Doe made quick stop by with her single fawn this evening...twin fawns weren't too happy when gray fox spook them.

Good late (Monday) morning. The overnight Low was 2C but now that the wind has come back the High is probably only going to reach 10C. It's supposed to remain like this until the weekend. (daugen, Mate, be careful what you wish for. I reckon that your 'mid-January' temps & conditions are more brutal than mine) There was 1.5mm of rain in the gauge, mostly from yesterday.

A few branches down from yesterday's winds, including one that was across a fence. Fortunately it didn't break the wire and I was able to lift it off.

There was supposed to be a Church Council meeting this arvo but the 'Chairman' is down with, I believe you're calling it, alligatoritis. So that'll be postponed.

I've spotted the "Mad Horse Woman" a couple of times, so I know that she's alive & well. :) (she's a very nice lady, just 'giddy as a schoolgirl' regarding 'her horse'.)

That's about it, take care all.

Ted, all the PV are mounted on the tractorshed roof, not the house. All the screw replacement is the house roof. Tractorshed roof only benefit from some power washing right now. If, in future I do need to replace those screws I would have to lift each section of panels, not something I would look forward to

Thanks for sharing your layout! looks great.
Rain shower just hit unexpectedly, so cooled off a bit...but should climb back up...to 87.

Thanks for concerns and prayers for my wife...she is doing much better.

Son and DIL came in last night and brought pizza so we wouldn't have to cook. We stayed up talking until after 1am, which is really late for me, since I still wake up and get up early to feed the birds and chipmunks.

I went grocery shopping yesterday and my wife calls and says the drainpipe under the kitchen sink had slipped apart, and water everywhere. So worked on that when I got home...temp repair until I buy some new plastic pipe...while under the sink, noticed a tiny drip from the hot water feed (copper)...so I'll have to take a closer look once our guests leave tomorrow, then make a run to the hardware store.

Also need to roast coffee for my son and DIL to take home...my roasting plan was interrupted when I had to take my wife to the clinic Friday.

BEF, is that an EA grapple? Sorry it got damaged.

Thomas, sorry your Florida friend passed.
Prayers for your wifey, Buppies, Randy, and the rest of our team members in need. Also for our country and Ukraine.

Took wifey and 2 kids to "Hot Nights Cool Tunes" in Brenham Texas yesterday evening. Very good band from DFW, Ashmore. Played many an oldie.

Speedaire Air compressor seems to be doing fine. We had a Jet 1.5 hp motor go south at work. Motor guy says usually when/if the starter contacts don't disengage. Jet equipment is not all that great IMHO.

I got the small 2 stroke Troybilt mini tiller running. I had ordered a new carb but the one they sent did not have a primer bulb circuit. Sent it back, ordered a new gasket kit from Tillotson, and some other parts. Had trouble with the thin wire spring that controls the butterfly valve in the carb, but eventually got it to the right length. It has a Tecumseh TC 200 engine.

Other than that, it's been so hot, I have no motivation to go work in the barn. Looks like all week here will be 104-107F highs each day....uhgh.

Mostly, only 37 miles??? Wow! Dedication.

Drew, I'm glad your PA team helped you get a solution. hope your upcoming treatment helps you out.

PJS, any further activity across the street? Many inner cities have a revolving door for criminals.

Church was good today. Martha Martha....putting things into perspective. Going to get setup to air The Chosen in my Sunday school class.

Good evening all. 77ºF for the start, partly cloudy sky, light breeze. Light wind today, sky clouded up late afternoon, and high temp was 104ºF, HI 107ºF. Chapel to start morning, made pancakes for breakfast. Not much else happened except for conserving energy and napping.
Don than for link to sub for eggs, not far behind you on 100ºF days, 109ºF in forecast.
Paul sorry about no PA sys on next gig. Hope Drew's project and muffins go well.
Randy not a big change in temps after the front. Kind of like "cold" front in Texas in summer :(
Drew understand about not being at church, nobody wants to do a 5 AM service when the bicycle ride comes to town :(
Drew enjoy your stories about growing up.

Roy sorry about the mowing, and the lack of another grease tube. Glad the travel group checked in.

When is good for you?

Next Saturday.
I was joking, but by the time I get to Messicks I’d be about half way there.
Looks like I can buy the inner disk, will have to get a price.
Tires are loaded, so not sure how to support them to take them off by myself. Maybe build a frame on a pallet that I can strap it to, then I could move it upright with pallet Jack.

There are 2 studs with lug nuts, and 4 bolts. Two of the bolts and one lug nut would frequently come loose. So I check them often. Kept meaning to put loc tite on. I didn’t check before moving some logs last week, and I thought it felt funny running it just about 20-30 ft down the road. Only 286 hrs on the tractor which is 12 yrs old

Sounds like thunder in the distance.

Now close.

I’m only 3 hrs from doylestown, what could go wrong on a 3 hr tour?
