Good morning!!!!

66F and mostly cloudy @ 10:45, heading up to a high of around 81F. Calling for considerable cloudiness today, which is great for not getting totally baked by the sun. Still have to watch the UV, which they say will be "Very High" (9).

From the looks of it we had some rain overnight ... LWS reports 0.21" since midnight ... (y)

Still calling for a chance (20%) of a stray shower or thunderstorm.

That open window sleeping weather felt so good yesterday morning I just went back to bed after waking up early and taking a whizz.

Until The Squeak decided I should be be up ... and bit me on the back of my hand ... 🤬

Yesterday's agenda:

Did some online banking (deposit, schedule some bills for payment)

Refilled hopper and 1 suet feeder.

Watered potted plants front and back.

Got the two artemisia "Silver Mound" dug up and potted for relocation, making room for the peonies.

Refilled Water Buffalo.

Planted 4 toad lilies in the second circle where the coral bells and hosta are planted:

IMG_1871 copy.jpg

Got those well watered in and everything else there got a drink as well.

After that took the WB up to the bed in front of the shop and gave the new plants up there a drink as well.

Then down to the northeast planting bed where the last azalea and three rhododendrons got watered and fed, also watered the lilac bush.

Dropped the WB around back and set it to refilling.

Got the two "mixed" peonies planted in the flower bed while that was happening.

Once those things were done I hooked up the dump cart and filled it with three bags of mulch (or was it six ?) and got those placed around the new toad lily plantings in the second circle.

Cooked some more spaghetti for dinner, was ready and waiting when The Woman hit the door.

After dinner took Cub up and mowed compost/woodlot to finish the day.

Agenda for today will likely include:

Change out bag on Japanese Beetle trap which is probably full by now.

Maybe take dump cart up and grab a load or two of screened compost for that new planting bed under the maple tree up on the northeast corner.

Probably do some planting of more hosta and shade perennials in several locations.

Need to get some mulching done in the flower bed where The Woman has weeded (otherwise I'll be in trouble)

Mow front lawn.

Got our second notice from the Census Bureau about completing the American Community Survey, so will probably see about completing that tonight if I can remember it.

Area where we planted those plain green hosta we got from a friend, they seem to be doing ok:

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe Saturday ... (y)

70°F and .61 inches rain. The remnants of Darby forecast to pass to the south of us today. Wind and rain. My kind of inside day.

Invited to neighbor’s this afternoon. Kinda a show and tell of all their renovations over the pandemic.

Been watching a show on Prime/FreeVee called Almost Paradise. More an old style drama comedy that won’t be getting any awards for the PC/Woke BS that has infected current programming. Christian Kane the main actor, shot in Philippines.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Got last of the painted pieces on the shed. Need to paint 1 more full sheet. And then cut and paint the top pieces
IMG_5394.JPG

Started sprinkle as I was finishing. So decided to move that downed tree on other side of creek while the EA wicked grapple was on. A small sledge hammer just bounces off trying to straighten the bent tine. But discovered a problem on a rear tire.
IMG_5396.JPG

Tightened them up and went to work, sprinkle stopped, spent hour or two moving downed limbs on other side of creek. Swapped back to pallet forks, pulled out 2 of 3 remaining osb sheets. Lunch
Cleaned grill, and it started to rain as I was finishing that up.
Got a shower, now it’s raining good with a thunderstorm.

We have a new couple from church coming over for supper. The plan is for me to grill.

That 20% chance of rain is 100%.

Almost had the front all mowed when I felt the first drops:

Now raining hard enough I can hear it hitting the roof.

Hope it continues.

I guess I'm glad I don't watch tv.
PC/Woke BS that has infected current programming.
Would probably throw things at tv and that gets expensive.

Always thought that would be a great way to get rid of old tvs.
Tune them in to your most hated show and get out the shotgun.
Just do it outside...

that wheel looks bad, I wouldn't stress it too much until you get it fixed.
Metal used in steel wheels should be tougher than that.
Sure shows why you need to examine your lug nuts carefully.

have to go load up mower on trailer for tomorrow.
Ken and Paul are helping me work on on a good sized list of repairs. Should be fun.
Then when done getting sweaty from that, will come in and cook some Keto blueberry muffins made with almond flour
and zero sugar. And lots of blueberries.

Been kinda slow motion day.
After good half hour cleaning grill with Mrs.and pointing out needed replacement parts soon, she decided it was time for new grill...prices sure gone up in 12 years.

Mrs. said dinner in 20 sooo I better get headed.

Enjoy your evening all.

mower loaded on trailer, no problems
done by 6pm Boss...

time to rest. Some somewhat strange blueberry muffins in oven.
Almond and rice flour, zero sugar. Don might even eat it.
Popgadget said he was trying to stay away from sweet things, except his wife of course...
so I promised him some healthy muffins.
I'm hoping he won't have to use them for target practice.

light rain is coming in soon, we need it, only a third of an inch predicted. Sure makes the grass grow.

   / Good morning!!!! #153,215
before anyone starts counting the mix didn't make that many muffins
smells good
have my eye on that little one in the back corner.
It's marked QC

orange pepper about ready to pick

Hmm, what else is in them. Maybe, no added oil or eggs or milk . . .

Well Don since I added two eggs I know I'm beat there. And two tbsp of butter
muffin was darn good, lighter texture
I almost went back and snitched another one, but there weren't enough left; next time I make a double batch
now that I know this is edible. Plate for Paul, plate for Ken. got to feed the help.

I wouldn’t delay repairing that. You could cut out a disc of 1/4” plate, and layout and drill the bolt circle, and ideally a fairly precise bore for the hub. Then weld it in place.

Here are 5 substitutes for eggs and butter numbers 1-4 and 7. I would not include #5 and #6 of the 7 because of the saturated fat content.
1. ground flax seed and water
2. unsweetened applesauce
3. mashed bananas
4. pumpkin puree
7. beans

Another 100˚ day today and the rest of the 10 day forecast is, of course, hotter.
Went to mom's today no green grass in the fields. The guy running cattle is feeding them 3 times a week as he watches any profits this year slip away.
