Good morning!!!!

Got almost an hour of mowing with Sophie’s BX before getting rained out. Have to admit to being impressed with her BX. With the filled tires and extra 4” width I found it quite stable on slopes, far better than even my LS (not filled). Grass was still wet from overnight rain but not enough to clog the discharge. I told her I thought it a better mower for our conditions than the Craftsman or Scag Z turn. Only 11AM, so hopeful conditions improve and I can get back out there.

Trimming is done with the weed whacker
Some branches are down and staged at the chipper, but not enough to start the tractor to chip....maybe more over the next week. There's enough to do, but I'll need the pole saw.
Done today...time for a beer

Productive day was had..... string trimmer worked flawlessly! Got a little more than halfway of what was left to do. By then, it was too hot to continue....
Not as hot as Don or Dftodd, but, lets say it was just too warm....

Finished up a few zones of drip irrigation, so the plants are happy for a few days.

No sign of a storm cloud in sight! Supposed to be a cold front coming in bringing some moisture overnight tomorrow. That might trigger some storms for Tuesday.

Came in and cooled off with a hot shower .... then put some sirloin burgers out on the grill. They were tasty.

Time to relax.

Morning all, back from Europe.

I now know what happens to a car when rocks fall down a mountain in Switzerland.
Still waiting on the bill from the rental car company.

Big rock hits in front of us and explodes. then lots of rocks hit us.

i hit the gas and looked in the rear view mirror.

Person behind us stopped, rocks hit their car, bolder knocked off his roof rack, car sat their smoking.

Road closed and people behind him to help.

We could not get past the rocks behind us, so kept going, hoping we would not get hit more.
Windshield broken, large dents in the hood and scratches everywhere. Still had some rock bits attached to the car afterwards.

We are all ok and the rest of our trip was great.

Still catching up,

Good (Monday) morning. Yet another mild overnight Low of 7C, calm and overcast. It's 11C now and may reach 13C. No rain but showers are predicted for tomorrow arvo.

The daughter of the horse owner is out on the front paddock/exercise arena. A lovely, active 'young lady' and I was happy to set-up an arena for her to use. It's the start of the Winter school 'break'; probably lasts for a fortnight. I certainly don't remember getting this much time off when I was in school! <said in a curmudgeonly voice> ;)

I'll get stuck into chain-harrowing this arvo. I noticed a lot of light grey fur in that paddock so it looks like a couple of wallabies had a 'discussion' last night.

That's about it, take care all.

Day started with a few snags streaming worship, but got it done. As minister started his sermon, his PowerPoint froze, and I had to fix it. Which was just restarting PowerPoint, but to the minister I had performed a miracle.

Large after church crowd at lunch, usually there is 10-12 of us, today over 20. We set 4 tables in a long row. Local Italian place, owners who do most of the cooking are Italian and her mom still lives in Italy. He loves us coming, a super nice generous guy who donates a lot back to the community.
Stopped by orchard for more black raspberries.
After I got home, jumped on ZT and mowed it all, mowing 8 for field, 14 for around house. Mower did very well after changing hydro fluid yesterday.
Sprayed just a little sevin left over from last year, had trouble, sprayer hose leaking before the spray valve. Ended up grabbing old spray hose from old tank that had cracked, but I had kept the hose “just incase”, so today it got reused. My hands still smell like sevin after many washes and another shower.
Got trash and recycle out for tomorrow.
Quick shower and head to evening service, I had songs. Good study in Gal 3.

Last night I posted 12 part series on George Washington’s 1770 survey of Ohio river, in my FB picture group. Lots of responses. I traced the route for each day on google maps using the measure function and posted that with a write up I copied from the web. One place they found a sycamore tree that was 36 ft around, 3 ft off the ground. He had a friendship with the Indians. One place they killed several Buffalo, the town there today takes that name. Very interesting reading.

Thomas, got a little time in the chair with the kitten.
