69° now highs around 80° today, got some rain overnight .65” better than nothing. Humidity is 94% dew point 68° so a bit soggy out now, supposed to dry out and be sunny later.

Not much planned maybe grocery maybe dump run, or maybe nothing lol.

Did some tool maintenance yesterday, cleaned up chainsaw and ran a file over the chain and adjusted it. String trimmer got a good cleaning and line re-spooled. Need to mix a new batch of fresh gas.

Enjoy your day everyone
Stay safe and healthy

Prayers for those in need, our country and peace around the world

I can think of about ten guys who would like to pull up a chair besides RNG with their shotguns ready for the next curious drone.

this can clearly get beyond annoying. Are they allowed to come up and video in through your windows? When does invasion of privacy begin?

I'd join your group.

I'm a moderator in a car group that has 85,000 members, I'll have to see if there are changes in that group.

If it’s a public group, than they changed it so anyone can join. The alternative is to make it a private group, which then can never go public again.
Anyone can see content in a public group which is what I want. only members in private group can see content in it. But now anyone can join and post in any public group. For now I changed it so I have to approve all posts, which is not what I want either.

Good morning! 77˚F heading into the 100s again today. Lots of sun no rain in future.
I waited till the temp dropped to 99˚ yesterday before Whippers evening stroll that was at 7:45 PM.

The grocery store nearest us started using digital coupons via an app only. I figured out how to obtain them, put them on my store card and then went to the store to see if they would automatically work. I could get no confirmation because they were out of the coupon items. I had to settle for a rain check - ear corn 17¢ each and Cherries $2.97 a lb. Since the coupons expired yesterday, now I have to go through the hassles of figuring out how to get the checkers to ring up the right price, They will probably have to call a manager over for an over-ride. Progress?

July 4th poppers were fewer than July 3rd and did not upset Whipper. I guess when the new generation (right outside the border of our neighborhood) buys some they just can't wait a day to use them. The neighbor that illegally popped on New Years Eve and was reported to the CA on a deed restriction violation was silent this 4th. The police do little but the CA carries a big hammer and fine - love them, don't have to deal with stupid neighbors like RNG has to. Our neighborhood would have done a lot more than a talking to for a drone violation.

We are using 90% of our water capacity and are on restrictions, 1 day a week only, on irrigation systems, but the city approved another another 5,000 houses. If you plan on moving to Texas bring your water with you and plan on 3 months of 100˚ temps.

Good morning! 76 now, 82 later. Chance of thunderstorms again, and radar looks like we may get some more rain. It did rain overnight.

Kept busy yesterday with assorted little projects. Likely do the same thing today.

Everyone stay safe out there

Getting dry out west. It Looks to me as if the powers that be ought to plan on building water pipelines. It ought to be easier to get approval cause if they leak it is just water.

79°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 99° today. Mid-80s coming for the weekend. Looking forward to that.

We officially got up to 101° in St. Louis yesterday. When I was getting ready to leave work yesterday, I walked out to the thermometer in the shop, and it read 104° ... inside the building. Glad I have an air conditioned office.

We have a neighbor across the road who usually puts on a big fireworks display every year. Many around the area donate to the cost, including us. They didn't ask about donations this year, and didn't fire anything at all. We presumed they opted out because of how dry everything is here right now. The Wife's cousin on the property next to us shot off a few things Sunday evening, but it only lasted about 15 minutes, and there was no big stuff. Our dogs were only mildly uneasy about it.

Kyle, I found a legal website that notes "You need to have a tract of land at least 10 acres in size if you want to shoot a shotgun, air rifle, air pistol, or BB gun. If you’re planning on shooting a rifle or pistol, your land needs to be even larger. Texas law specifies you must be on a tract of land at least 50 acres in size to shoot these types of guns."
I had no idea. Glad now that we didn't buy that five acres we were looking at near Bastrop. I would have been supremely ticked had we moved all the way to Texas only to find out that we can't even shoot on our own land.
As far as I can find, there are no such statewide restrictions in Illinois, only for properties within the various municipalities.

David, the DQ nearest us in Highland IL has been closed for a couple of months. The sign out front says it's "closed for remodeling." However, there has been no activity at all there. Someone finally posted on a local Facebook group about a week ago that they are buying that franchise from the previous owner and will be remodeling the place. It is an old building. I think new ownership will be good for that place, as it's been not worth the eight mile drive for some time now.

My Wife has a second cousin who runs a funeral home with his father in our hometown. Our plans are set, and include cremation as well. We've (jokingly) told her sons to put us both in a shaker jar (urn) and give us a little shake every once in awhile to keep us mixed up together.

Good morning, gents.

I wonder how many acres I'd need to fire off a bazooka?.......

took several hundred photos today of all graves under tree limbs, where the drone can't get to.
Fun walk around, hot out there.
Lots of history here

had to report to house and grounds to stop procrastinating about this big tree and get it down before it crushes our stone wall around the graveyard.
Looking pretty precarious and long overdue.

They have a water pipeline, from lake Meade to Southern California. They suck it dry.
