67°F and .19 inches rain. Looks like another on and off morning.

Guess for the most part I’ll be piddling about inside.

Nice, relaxing late lunch with wife’s brother and gf yesterday. One of the few times he was pleasantly civil the whole visit. Maybe at least one of us is mellowing. He’s her baby brother and she is more tolerant of his attitude than I. I even picked up the tab, gaining me a couple unexpected bonus points

Safeway had some good looking NY strips on sale for 6.99/lb. Picked up a package to grill on Sunday.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

My company is just starting AS9100 stuff. I don’t have the patience for it.
Just make sure your quality system is kept lean as possible...9100 requires 6 documented procedures. All the rest, just need objective evidence (proof that you're complying).
My problem is we have a number of bureaucratic a-holes that think we need work instructions for everything, including wiping one's butt. Try to minimize that.

Good Morning Everyone !

Sorry but I am so far behind on this thread, that I can't reply to 12 pages, so this will be just and hit and miss with update.

Canada Day was good, enjoyable and a full day. Normally there is a parade and all the cars are part of that. This year there was no parade, so I went to meet up with the car group at the parking lot at 10 AM. Then we were to drove to the Park and have the show & shine on large corner of the field, with activities, kids zone, market vendors, food trucks, our church's burger stand, music stage, evening fireworks (Volunteer Fire Dept hosting). I had a few extra minutes, the car wash was open and available bay, so I took the El Camino there for a wash. I went to the meeting spot, but they had left early ... I knew where they were headed, so I intercepted and joined them before they arrived at the park. (I always think it is kinds special / neat when I hear onlookers say ... Hey, that's an El Camino as we drive by ... :) I'm usually the only El Camino out there). Anyways, about 90 classic, muscle, vintage, custom vehicles present. There was an '88 Toyota Corolla 4 dr sedan there also :) I used to own one, never thought that would be something unique, but I guess it is now. I stayed till 4 pm when they cleared the car corner to set up fireworks.
I went home to feed the critters
Then met up with the Fri Night Car Cruise group at 6 pm - took the farm truck as there is a lot of road construction through town, and I needed chicken feed, and gas.
went to McDonalds for coffee with the other (non-car) gang at 7 pm
home at 9:30 pm, full day, exhausted
did not bother to go back to the fireworks (20 min drive) at 10:30 PM

I plan to go and visit the kids, grandson today, after the animals are taken care of. They are an hour away, so I'm planning my day accordingly.

Prayers to all in need and recuperating. I will do a better job of catching up tomorrow.

have a good day everyone.

sorry Buckeye. Sometimes stuff gets copied/pasted and you get fooled as to the original poster
I'll just assume it's senility

Kyle, agree the radiator needs fixed, but I’m 300 miles away and I can’t keep him off of it.
He was putting straight water in the radiator. I put antifreeze in it, was still spitting out the overflow tube when I shut it down, but gauge not showing overheating. At least dad watches the temperature and stops when it gets hot.

I said it was too hot to work on shed, but did anyways. Replaced floor piece, and got another siding piece on
IMG_5202.JPG

I have 1 more piece painted and 2 that needs replaced. Then I need to do the gables.

Came in soaked. But 86° and 62% humidity. Showered , so mowing might not get done.

Bdaugen, a few years ago I watched 6 mosquitoes fly off with one of my cats. A couple of days later 4 black flies brought it back.
Our worst bug nightmare is pine beetles. They will take a chunk out of you. They aren't very gracefull fliers and their landings are hard, so you can feel them land and sweep them off before they bite.
Monochamus galloprovincialis - Wikipedia
Believe it or not I have seen those beetles here but never been bitten by one.

Just got field finished with ZT, think that is 7 mowings for the field, 13 around house. I would not have gotten done as fast with tractor. Beat the storm which has went north of us. Looks like some rain might get here.

You can say that again. We had one for forklift driving. Filling out a form to get on the forklift to move a pallet.

Yes! Happy Anniversary Mr & Mrs NHBX

Last night, I took the family to a street dance that was moved to the park. Texas Unlimited Band was good. Played a good mix.

Today, I changed the oil in the Impala. I wanted to put fresh oil, since the motor had gotten hot. It appears everything is running fine. I'm glad. Now I have a blower fan resistor to install under the glove compartment.

We just BBQed some bone in ribeyes they had on sale. Smoked them with some hickory chips added to the coals. Also cooked some asparagus over the coils wrapped up in foil. A big pot of garlic mashed potatoes. Daughter cut up watermelon, then separately cut up some pineapple, kiwi, bananas and cherries for a fruit salad.

We talked about how long it has been since we've had steak...quite a long time. They had these bone in ribeyes on sale for $4.47/lb limit 2 packs. So I got 6 steaks.

My sister just asked me where I got the tractor for dad. Naturally I asked why? He’s going to have them come get it to look at the radiator!!!

Another 100˚day, they keep forecasting a mid 90s day but they are off. One forecaster has predicted ninety days of 100˚ days this summer for central TX. Now If I want climate change should I put more co in the air? I remember they changed it from global warming to climate change for a reason and we definitely need a climate change.

I'm just lucky I can complete all my outside work the first few hours in the morning. But one think I cannot skip is Whippers Evening walk. She will come up to me and nudge me till I take her and it's still 99-100˚ at 7PM in the evenings. Ok Whipper, but this is going to be a short walk on the trail. (The road/sidewalk will burn her feet and she has already worn out her doggie shoes.)

Ice cold watermelon waiting when we get back!

BEF, We must have the same weather guessers. The high was supposed to be 78° but it went up to 86°..... also 60% humidity. A T-storm passed close by, but not a drop here. I was also sweating, not something that I am accustomed to out here.....

I got the landscape fabric put down, and covered with mulch. Started raking up the 'old' mulch, but stopped after running out of the new stuff. I can't believe that I have used up 130- 2cf bags and need probably another 30 bags.

I checked Lowes (where I got it from) and they are now DOUBLE the price. $2 a bag is OK, $4 a bag is not. Checked HD and they have 2cf bags on sale for $2.98.... plus I have a 20% off coupon. I know where I will be going tomorrow.....

Time to relax and have a bowl of IC later.

Don, please make sure you keep that heat down there!

I was going to say 'hot air', but thought that might get misconstrued......

I usually get myself in trouble for saying stuff like that without even realizing it.......

   / Good morning!!!! #152,538
Alien, you know what they look like and what they will do to you if given the chance. Their mouths are designed for chewing through bark on dead trees to get at the grubs underneath. If you listen to the Canadian Goobermint, they will tell you that there are no pine beetles in Ontario. That is a load of hog wash. There are lots of them, but it depends on how hot it is out whether or not they come out of hiding. Temps over about 85°F will bring them out.

Good evening all. 73ºF for the start, clear sky, light breeze. Light wind, partly cloudy sky and high temp was 96ºF, HI 103ºF. Bike ride this morning, 75 miles in 5 hours. Broke a rear spoke after 40 miles, changed to Volagi and finished. About 8 of the group finished 100+ miles. After shower and nap went to dinner, and that was it except for re hydration.

Best place for tea is in the harbor.
Nah Mate, the water's too salty... but hey, if that's the way you like it, enjoy.

I myself enjoy a mug of 'loose leaf' Earl Grey practically every arvo. 1 sugar and a wee bit of full cream milk, ta.🫖
