Seriously though, there's not shortage of planting beds at this point ... just need to get the ones that aren't yet planted prepped so they can be planted.

Love the bench and the oasis it sits in, glad you are getting some much needed rain.

Did outside stuff early but may need to water garden again this afternoon.

How you folks that are in triple digits on a regular basis deal with it. “You’re a better man than I am, Gunga Din”. If it gets into the 80’s with humidity my lungs say AC please lol.

Not much been going on other than mow, trim, weed, water and repeat.

71°F and cloudy this morning, only going up to 82° today. Lots of lightning and thunder overnight last night, but doesn't look like we got a lot of rain out of it. Another patch of rain is falling on us now, and dropped the temp from 79° back to 71°. Any rain is good rain at this point.

Wifey and I took the kayaks over to St. Charles County MO yesterday morning and paddled on Dardenne Creek. The county recently upgraded that facilities at a little park at the confluence of the creek and the Mississippi River, which they now call Riverside Park. They have a nice wide boat ramp, a small dock, and an ample pebble beach, as well as a good-size camping area with hookups. We launched from the beach and paddled up the creek about two miles, then returned to the park before it got too hot. There was almost no current, so paddling was easy both ways. We only saw two other kayakers while we were out there, but by the time we returned to the park, there were a dozen or more either already launched or getting staged to launch. Late starters. We had a nice day, though, and will likely go back, as there's another park about 3.5 miles from the confluence, which would make a nice round trip.

We stopped at Bobby's Frozen Custard in Maryville IL on the way home, then once home we both decided a nap was in order.

Rain is keeping me from getting anything done outside today, so I guess I'll find something inside to get in trouble for.

I wish you didn't live so far away. I haven't been able to inventory my FIL's stuff. Since his passing, my MIL is wanting to sell some or most of his hardware. I'm hoping to buy a couple/few myself...

I will let you know if you want what's available. He had some nice stuff. At 1 time, he had at least 5 Ruger #1's. But I know he had sold some.

PJS and wifey, what a nice way to spend time together.

So the alligatoritus at work had hit as many as 7-10 people that I know about. Most all had low problems/ minor cold like symptoms. I had the same symptoms one lady was telling she had, but I tested negative...The nurse told me the current vaccines don't have much power against the current strain. My cold like symptoms are almost all gone.

Subway sandwiches has a new menu starting today, and new prices. 12" Philly cheesesteak is about $11.49 Ouch.

I had a FJ40 about 40 years ago. I towed a 30 ft triple axle caravan all over the east coast of aussie and a smaller van over to the west coast. Believe it or not the larger van towed the nicest. Never had a problem with it ever. Super reliable. In outback WA where I went there were no roads. All travelled by compass and maps in those days when I was gold prospecting.

very nice day, glad to be back in West Kill after spending the day on the side of a mountain near Arkville NY.
one mile long grass road was way too bumpy to have fun with golf cart, it rode terribly though kids didn't mind. Faster! Faster!
I am not impressed with the power of this cart. We almost stopped completely at the top of a steep field, which had been mowed enough to take the cart in there. It was pretty steep but with two adults and two kids it became a I think I can I think I can. And we just made the top and turned around. I know they took it out last night, wonder if they ran the lights a lot. Regardless we ran the portable gen for an hour when we got back and put some charge back in batteries.

I basically had the same cart in NC but it's flat as a board there. I think this cart is all of 6 hp and it felt pretty strained today. On nice surfaces it's fun to drive. I think I'd get a gas engine for the mountains.

Dinner tonight was the shrimp cocktail and steak I brought cooked for twice as many people. Turns out three were little kids, two of whom ate two bites, and liked their corn on the cob better and that was it. Supposed to rain here tomorrow morning. I will pick up rolls and more ice on the way over, the rolls for steak sandwiches for lunch.
