Good morning! 70 now, 92 later with a 60% chance of storms. High on our thermometer yesterday was 89. It felt warmer. But the humidity wasn’t bad.

Storm clean up continues. There is a lot to do. Also mowed. Insurance adjuster was here as well.

Chains for saws are thin on the ground locally. Need one for the small saw. It needs a plug too…..still not convinced the coil isn’t failing again.

well, better get moving

Everyone stay safe out there

My little Tasmania devil Pebbles is busy chasing her tail, instead of munching on my fingers, so that’s good. When she and our new cat Tiger get together, they just chase each other all over, back and forth. So much entertainment.

Got starlink antenna up on front of garage last night. Still need to run cable thru wall into a crawl space. Right now it still runs under garage door. Have not tried the home network on it, just my phone so far.

Better get to work.

76°F and partly cloudy this morning, only going up to 92° today. Chance for some scattered storms this afternoon.

I sure do miss full service stations, SC. If there are any left in the St. Louis area, I do not know where they are. Haven't seen one since the mid-'80s, when there was one left in my hometown, Len's Amoco on Pontoon Rd in Granite City IL. His gas prices were a penny or two higher than the other places that had gone self-serve, but he never wanted for business. He was also the last gas/service station in town, and even he eventually closed the service side.

Thomas, I'm reminded of a story about my childhood best friend, whose great-grandfather used to walk into town every morning to get a pint of whiskey and a cigar, which he would enjoy on his porch every evening. He lived to be 95 years old.

Good morning, gents.

I'm pretty sure kittens have you wrap around their paws. :)

It's sunny and 87F already @ 10:30, HI 95F, calling for an actual high of 91F ... wouldn't be surprised if we beat that number.

Need to check hopper feeder, it may be due for a refill.

May put another load of squash/pumpkin plants in the dump cart and take them around back and stick them in the 3rd wading pool while it's still in shade back there.

Potted plants all looking good at the moment, but the ones still up front will probably need watered by some point today if it doesn't rain.

I left the AC on in the shop last night, so it's probably plenty cool up there right now ... so will be headed up there at some point in the not too distant future to continue working on the B2910.

Woman heading out shortly for a doctor's appointment so I'll be flying solo at least for a while.

Doubtful there will be much in the way of outside activities today.

Hope everyone has a great Hump Day ... (y)

Good question Ted. The 64,000 dollar question?
How many bulbs do RS and his wife have coming up?
Hundreds and hundreds.

sorry RS, can't refer to her as The Woman, I think I'd deserve a boxed ear.
Yeah ... technically, you'd refer to Her as "Your Woman ..." ... if you were speaking to me ...

It's something an inside joke ... an appellation started by a Latina friend of ours who's originally from South of The Border.

But you would not refer to her as my "wifey" ... or call her "Honey" ... which she absolutely hates.

Either of those would likely get you not one but a pair of boxed ears.

I bet there are 200 hosta.
Easy.

Double that and it would probably be closer.

Time to charge admission.
;)

RS, I watch some car repair videos and I was thinking of you fixing your tractor, which only a handful of guys here would be capable of doing.

You think you are all ready to change out that part and find out you need to take off six things to get there. And don't lose any ball bearings....

Yup ... the standard Kubota method of making this repair would be to split the tractor or at least drop the FEL mounting frame. The first would add around 12 hours to the job.

But it clearly isn't necessary.

However, the Kubota WSM isn't really all that helpful in getting you there.

While it's great for certain things like specs that you probably won't find elsewhere, it leaves a little to be desired as far as full, complete descriptions of procedures at times.

For the most part however, it is fairly decent ... and appears to have been side-checked for any Japanese to English translations (no Chinglish)

Woman provided an extra set of hands and did some detailing on the B2910 removing grease and goo

wow, now that's a good wife.

She's a Keeper.

Glad to hear you are having some pleasant weather.

Good luck on the search for the spacer.

Good Morning!!!! 83F @ 5:30AM. Abundant sunshine. High 102F. Winds SSE at 10 to 15 mph.
The low last night is the current temp; it'll only get hotter from here. Not much of a cool off, and the highs will stay above 100F until next Tuesday, when they'll be in the high 90s. Summer is starting off with a sizzle.

I've had good luck on chainsaw parts from Amazon and SawAgain, Rich. I guess shortages are the new normal: it took two months to get a new bar for the Makita, and it was a Stihl part.

I bet Buppies would have had a field day with that repaving job, Paul!

By the time I got out to the garage yesterday morning it was too hot to even think about running the tire machine, so I settled for washing the bugs off the big touring bike. Didn't bother blowing the water off, as it evaporated almost as fast as it got wet.

Spent the rest of the day writing up the remaining solar power system issues, using short sentences and small words. Trying to keep it as simple as possible. Sent the first one off; we'll see if I get a response today. I'd better.

Hump Day already.

Put this post together much earlier, then forgot to hit the Post reply button...
