Randy, glad your complication was minor so you can continue on the road to full recovery.
David, How can you not include pics of a new tractor on your first new tractor post?

OK, here’s one being delivered.

nice dinner at friends, nice to drive back while it's still light out. Still high 80's out and muggy.
I have a case of wine in the car I really don't want to overheat, but with car a/c running I'm ok.
Just can't park it anywhere in the sun til it gets unloaded tomorrow afternoon in Folly Beach.
picked up a bag of ice on way back for cooler, now for some quiet time reading.

had to turn thermostat down in room. They had it cranked all the way down, 68 degrees in here on a 93 degree day. That's costing them a bunch. I cranked it up to 71, even that's cool for me.
I wonder how much they would save if they paid better attention to this.

Sophie got a new tractor, and David got the bill.
Congrats.

Home from work at 7:30, gulped down some food, and jumped on ZT. Mowed along creek and back hill, and started field but got dark.
Got reminded the blades need sharpened.

My son is supposed to be moving to new apartment in Nashville today. Haven’t heard from him yet. Area looks nice on google.

68F and "Fair" @ 21:00, high hit 83.5F today. Heading down to a low of 66F ... definitely "open windows" sleeping weather.

The Woman came in this morning after I got up from doing what She Said She Wouldn't Do™: Weeding the Flower Bed, got overheated from sitting in the sun apparently.

Still a long ways to go to have it all done, but it's looking good so far ... (y)

Will look even better with some mulch spread on the parts that can be mulched. The irises - which appear to be thriving for the most part - should not be mulched from what I understand. There are a couple I bought mail order that did not make it (were pulled up, etc.) so need to get a list of those so they can be reordered.

She ran out to do a little grocery shopping after that and I headed off to mow the compost/wood lot.

After that I started digging up hosta in a little 2' x 4' planting bed just outside the man door in the garage. Need to get those cleared out so the side walk can be leveled and a planter of retaining wall block can be built in it.

Only got one hosta removed which was then split into 5 or 6 which then got planted over in the east planting bed to fill in some empty spots. After that we worked on cutting down the one trunk of the hawthorn tree which was dead and had this funky orange fungus growing on it. Hauled that up to the burn pile and tossed it on along with some critter carcass a buzzard had apparently dug out.

Then we worked on weeding and putting down mulch, got 9 bags placed. Would have taken a picture but my phone's battery died just as I was about to snap one.

That bed is probably now at least 50% done ... but I still have to work on adding some plants on the back side before it can be mulched much further. Probably add several solid green hostas we got from our friend plus 2 or 3 of the large blue-green ones in the shadiest areas.

Once we finished up there we came up to the house and She made up some burgers and prepped some potatoes and onions to fry up while I prepped the charcoal for the grill.

Tractor dealer texted me the parts are in for the Kubota and Menards order is ready for pick up, so those trips will be on the agenda for tomorrow.

Lawn down here around the house needs mowed so that will be on my agenda tomorrow at some point, probably later once it dries out - as they are calling for showers in the morning.

Front lawn today, a couple days after being mowed:

Hope everyone had a great day ... (y)

Good luck with surgery Toppop

Another skin cancer removal for me tomorrow
Prayers for a good outcome Bupps and Topps.

Been very busy....wrapping up a lot of loose ends at work. One of the reasons I'm leaving is my current pay. 2 individuals whom are fairly qualified have applied, (they have engineering diplomas), and 1 is asking 25K more than I made, and the other 31K. I'm telling them the truth in my exit interview. Being an R&D facility, they put a lot more stock in diplomas than abilities. They brag that they have about 25+ Ph. D's out of about 100 people. It's all about getting gov't funding for proposals.

I have a mountain of "New Hire" paperwork and subjects to read and take a test over.....I should have applied to be a student instead of being an employee.

Sophie, congrats on your new tractor!

rs, place looking great.

Doug, don't get downwind....you know....2nd hand smoke. All those cops were afraid they'd miss out on the big sell. :) Just kidding.

62°F and some spotty fog this morning, going up to 85°. More storms expected this afternoon. We may break a 120 year old record with tomorrow's forecast of 93°, then more storms and 80° for Saturday, and cloudy and 66° for a high on Sunday. The Spring roller coaster is not done with us yet.

Turned on the spigot on the well house to take fresh water to the chickens yesterday evening, and a large bumble bee came shooting out into the bucket. He hadn't managed to get out before the bucket filled, so I stuck a leaf in there for him to grab onto and pulled him out. Sure hope he doesn't sting me later for trying to drown him.

Good to hear from David (MFW).

Thank You sir.

Healing and best of outcomes tomorrow for both Randy & Buppies...

I will limit my drama to the danged remodeling thread...

Be well all of you, Y'all is good folk.
David

Good evening all. Trip to Missouri to ride Katy trail went well. 215 miles in 5 days, tent camped, no flats. Thunderstorms 2 nights not much wind, trail was soft after rain. Pic was taken in Boonville restaurant. Got to visit former coworker on way home. 71ºF for the start, windy, partly cloudy. Moderate wind with some brisk gusts, Sky cleared off, and high temp was 91ºF, HI 94ºF. Today was recovery day as much from travel as from bike ride. Bike maintenance to start riding Volagi again, noise from Peugeot front wheel and chain lube issues also worked on.
