Back fro the successful trip to the nursery in town. Very nice gal (who knows her stuff) helped us find the trees. She stated that they just arrived yesterday, and most were "in shock" from the long truck ride.
BUT.... she went into the grouping, dug out the 2 best ones for us to look at and select one. SOLD. Excellent customer service.... a rarity these days.
Wrapped it up and made the trip home without a branch being damaged. Of course, the wind was too strong for us to get it planted, and the temp was up to 86°. Unloaded it around back in a fairly protected area. We'll plant it tomorrow.
Then, while getting a bite to eat, a giant dirt-nado crossed right into the house and yard. Took the wrought iron patio chairs right off the front porch! It only lasted a few seconds going over. When I went out to check the tree, it was still upright.... but, just 10 ft away, the greenhouse wasn't as lucky. Blew out and destroyed 5 out of 6 panels only on one side of the roof (same side where the tree was). Now there is more work on the to-do list.
The son is going to pick up some polycarbonate panels for me when he gets done at work. Hopefully they will work for the repair nicely. I know what I will be doing tomorrow morning......
Hope everyone has had a better day!
