Morning everyone.
Had a nice visit from my NZ brother and his wife. He is about 6 years younger than me and I was quite shocked to see he appears to be more crippled in the back and knees than I am and walks with a hunch. A big change from when he visited a few years ago. He has also gone balder on top. I haven't lost any hair at all. Guess I am lucky having to pay a hairdresser every 6 - 8 weeks.
Rain has stopped briefly but is coming back apparently. Still water lying around and going stagnant. Ground is beyond saturated. Lots of badly damaged roads in the district and Council hasn't even completed repairs from the last flood a few weeks ago. I can forsee our rates rising in the future to compensate. :(
Giant plantation of marijuana discovered in giant green houses not far from me. Acres of the stuff. I was heading to town and wondered why 3 police vehicles in a row went flying past me with lights and sirens. I thought there must have been a major disaster somewhere.
Thursday, wheelie bin day. Collections have been disrupted due to the floods.
Have a great day all.

The last of the privacy fence frames are complete! (For now) WOOHOO! Got out there at 09:00, finished by 11:45. We were going to start with the metal panels, but decided to do them another day.... the temp got up to 88. Just too hot too quick. Probably finish the panels this weekend.

Tomorrow, I'm taking the wifey down to a nursery in town... they got a shipment of 'purple robe locust' trees. It was decided that one of those will replace the dead mimosa tree. We had 2 of the trees over at the old house and really liked them, especially when they bloom.

The rest of the agenda is to get the tree planted when we get back. Hopefully that will be all for the day..... I should be worn out by them.

Made some breakfast burritos for dinner, bowl of ice cream on the evening menu. Picked up a new flavor..... Tillamook , mountain huckleberry swirl.
I hope it's good.

Drew, have a safe uneventful trip!

BEF, heal fast!

Toppop, good luck with the procedure. Hope it goes as well as the first!

RNG, ---- awaiting your drone videos.....

Thomas, I bet you thought you worked hard BEFORE you retired....

Ken, hope you can salvage a few ash trees.

Jackfruit raw and BBQ jackfruit.
This is the first time I used the BBQ sauce recipe and it is a keeper. The main ingredient is dates the second is tomatoes and spices.

55F with WU radar showing a rain shower in the area @ 22:00 ... had rain on and off throughout the day. Total since last midnight: 0.23" ... which is enough to keep things watered.

The Woman and I both slept past 10 AM this morning.

Hopper feeder filled first thing.

Phone company guy was out, with no result ... he called in the bucket truck ... same as last time. Got a call later, is supposedly fixed now: was bad underground wire in a cable vault down near the CO. If it is handled that would sure be nice.

Woman commented on how great the lawn is looking ... (y)

Got inside plants and seedlings all watered.

Gathered up the leaves at the southwest corner of the house and took those up to the compost pile.

Pulled the weeds and maple seeds out of 5 of The Woman's dahlias, also fertilizer added and worked into the soil in the grow bags. Will finish that up on the rest of them tomorrow.

Spent the rest of the afternoon/evening up in the shop doing further clean up and working on the Kubota. Making some progress.

Forecast high temp for tomorrow now upgraded to 81F (from 78F), then followed by two days worth of 90's.

Will hopefully have to go pick up the parts for the Kubota tomorrow.

Hope everyone had a great day ... (y)

62 and was raining 2 hours ago. Gonna see 88 later, and then close to 100 this weekend.

Dogs and cats living together, oh my! Great pix. When we had cats along with dogs, they barely tolerated each other.

We had a great day at the river yesterday, water was clear, mountain laurels in full bloom, caught more fish than ever (largemouth, smallmouth, brim) paddling the kayak felt good, and had a great cookout.
