52F and "Fair" @ 22:30, headed to a low of 46F overnight.
Got most of the Big Max Pumpkin seeds planted in pots today - maybe around 15 or so - before running out of potting soil and almost out of pots, so will maybe to make another tote tomorrow and order more pots. Hard to believe I blew through 100 of them already.
Wanted to get these going to give them plenty of time, they can take up to 120 days to mature and go over 100 lbs.
After that I used the string trimmer to cut down along the east side of the parking area and the house and followed that with finishing off the planting area at the southwest corner of the house. Raked up the trimmings and leaves but still need to load them up and take them up to the compost pile.
Then I decided to mow the front since I had enough fuel on hand and it looked like it could stand mowing. Raised the deck up to 2.75" in preparation for coming warmer weather. Will probably raise it again at least once.
After that I took the string trimmer and cut down all the weeds surrounding the 7 oak trees up along the road. Interestingly, they all survived over winter ... maybe because the weeds had grown up and the deer weren't browsing them. Ended up using 2+ batteries to get all the trimming done.
Quit early in order to get cleaned up to go pick up The Woman.
Slid by Eadies Fish House before heading to the airport since it was close by. They usually have an all-you-can-eat deal going on Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday and this time it was battered-dipped fried grouper + onion rings. Was delicious and I left stuffed. Took a little care package to the airport for The Woman but she had snacked at Reagan while waiting to board and on the plane. Which means I will probably have a midnight snack later ...
Her flight got in 8 minutes early and I was on time to pick her up. After telling her it was supposed to be 92F this coming Friday She couldn't believe how cool it was here.
She enjoyed her trip and the visit with friends, but is glad to be back home.
Hope everyone had a great day ...
