Temp tonight is going down to 32°F. Frost warnings are up.
Didn't do a blessed thing outside other than move the Dodge so the oil guy could fill the tank.

Cats or dogs, all your pics are great. Likely a bunch of pampered pets, which is good
Today my mom's cat got pampered. After his vaccinations he went to the groomers. Pretty kitty. I would post a pic but someone would probably turn me in for animal abuse because the cat is 18 years old and skinny, but it's just his summer weight. He checked out OK with the vet today. I even got him some canned salmon cat food for being so good.

Could not find regular gasoline for under $4 today so I finally had to pay over $4.
$4.019 per gallon.

Well, today's agenda came and went.... nowhere. Decided early on to take a PTO day.
Tomorrow's schedule is set.... the grandson is going to help with doing some fencing with me. I have to take advantage before he heads back home to Colorado on Friday.

The winds are expected to return on Thursday, so tomorrow is the day to work outside. We will be able to get the hard parts done.

I watched the wildfire smoke plume get really big today. The local news has it over 300,000 acres, over 500 structures burned. Really a shame. Some of those homes have been in families for generations.

Busy evening.
Home at 7 pm, ate and was going to start mowing, and son said he was going to mow. Got started at 7:30.
I fired up trimmer, first time in long time.
Trimmed under deck and along back of house. Line jammed once and had to take spool off, but didn’t run out. Didn’t do everything, but almost a tank of fuel.
Pebbles is helping me type this. By help I mean biting and clawing my fingers as I type.

And acts innocent when I take a picture.

Then tilled garden since the tractor was able to get out.
Shuffled stuff in barn to park tractor further back, then mowed along road and a little behind house that son didn’t get. Was pretty dark when I got that done.
Gotta get the birds out of the barn. They are making a crappy mess. They got in where facia came off the back, and they squeeze in above the soffit. They had babies, now I think babies are flying. Momma gets out via soffit, babies not.

Got mower blowed off and everything back in barn and was in house by 9.
Now pebbles is asleep in my lap. Which lasted a minute.

Hope Mostly having a nice ride.

52F and "Fair" @ 22:30, headed to a low of 46F overnight.

Got most of the Big Max Pumpkin seeds planted in pots today - maybe around 15 or so - before running out of potting soil and almost out of pots, so will maybe to make another tote tomorrow and order more pots. Hard to believe I blew through 100 of them already.

Wanted to get these going to give them plenty of time, they can take up to 120 days to mature and go over 100 lbs.

After that I used the string trimmer to cut down along the east side of the parking area and the house and followed that with finishing off the planting area at the southwest corner of the house. Raked up the trimmings and leaves but still need to load them up and take them up to the compost pile.

Then I decided to mow the front since I had enough fuel on hand and it looked like it could stand mowing. Raised the deck up to 2.75" in preparation for coming warmer weather. Will probably raise it again at least once.

After that I took the string trimmer and cut down all the weeds surrounding the 7 oak trees up along the road. Interestingly, they all survived over winter ... maybe because the weeds had grown up and the deer weren't browsing them. Ended up using 2+ batteries to get all the trimming done.

Quit early in order to get cleaned up to go pick up The Woman.

Slid by Eadies Fish House before heading to the airport since it was close by. They usually have an all-you-can-eat deal going on Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday and this time it was battered-dipped fried grouper + onion rings. Was delicious and I left stuffed. Took a little care package to the airport for The Woman but she had snacked at Reagan while waiting to board and on the plane. Which means I will probably have a midnight snack later ... :giggle:

Her flight got in 8 minutes early and I was on time to pick her up. After telling her it was supposed to be 92F this coming Friday She couldn't believe how cool it was here.

She enjoyed her trip and the visit with friends, but is glad to be back home.

Hope everyone had a great day ... (y)

Not as productive a day as hoped.
Meds weren’t at PO, tracking says they are in Honolulu, so hopeful for tomorrow. That prompted call to Ophthalmologist, if I don’t receive tomorrow may have to make trip to town for alternative supply.

Only got to mow just over an hour before breaking for lunch as it was starting to rain. Unfortunately that turned into on and off rain rest of the afternoon, never got more than 50 feet from tractor shed before giving up.

Enjoyed a nice fruit smoothie before taking a nap to the musical pitter patter of the rain.

Tomorrow is another day.

good morning all
looks like another nice day, high in 70's and sunny, with more rain coming in tonight.
I'm off around 9am to head for DE, and then NC and SC tomorrow. High of 92 in NC, sure is hotter there, all that Texas heat must have
finally worked its way over.
going to take my time packing car, and will fill the cooler with lettuce I'm about to pick to take to family dinner in SC.

Am not looking forward to all this driving, and wish Amtrak had not cancelled train but I'm not going to miss out on seeing my sister for first time
in three years.

Paul, hope your flights were easy. Bet you come home and find all that grass has grown a full inch already.

pitter patter of rain puts me to sleep, hope you got your nap David.

Ted, hope the fires and smoke stay far away from you.
