Good morning all. Overnight low of 13C with 2.4mm of rain in the gauge. The high, yesterday showed 26C (although the Aerodrome only recorded 21C). Currently it's 17.5C, overcast with light winds.

More shed work today... and tomorrow. Thursday I'm into Launceston (the 'big smoke') for a Ute servicing + some shopping. The danger will be when I visit "Bunnings" hardware (what you'd call a Big Box store) where I plan on getting a 'star-picket' driver. The danger being that I'm sure that I'll come out with more "needful things" than I intended.;)

I got another call from the Community Garden asking for my tractor to fill more raised-beds with mulch & top soil on Friday.

That's it for now, take care all.

Good evening. Ended up being a very nice day outside today.... calm breezes, temp at 70°.

Wanted to get working on the fence with such a nice day.....

Unfortunately, I only got about 3 hours of intermittent sleep last night, tossed and turned, couldn't get comfortable. Was really dragging this morning and was really lightheaded.
BUT.... I may have found out why I have been having trouble sleeping for the last year+.....

Thinking back, the B/P meds were changed at around the same time.....

Since cutting the dosage in half a week ago, I have been sleeping great....
Until last night....after mistakingly taking the 'old' full dose (25mg vs. 12.5mg).
The B/P has been doing great on the lower dose -- right around 116/70. This mornin, it was again really low, below 100 and pulse was only 56.

I would make a wager that my B/P was dropping too low when sleeping, causing me to wake up and also causing the syncopal episodes.

Won't make that mistake again..... Went back to bed around 10am, napped for about 3 hours, which definitely helped to feel better.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! To Mr. and Mrs BEF.

Paul, glad you were on top of the situation! Just saw on our news out here about a small plane going down in NJ. Did you find out what caused the problem with the engine?

Drew, the shrub bed looks nice! I have been wanting to put in a blackberry and raspberry patch for a couple years.... maybe next season. We have given up on blueberries.

RS and Ken, I too, am awaiting the anticipated spring blooms that you guys have planted! please post pics!

I was able to get a big chunk on the staining done yesterday, over halfway done. Maybe do some more tomorrow afternoon. I have some errands to do in the morning. It would be a good day to finish up with it, inside the shop....

Winds are supposed to be in the 25-35 mph range starting at around 03:00, then we have high wind / red flag warnings starting at 11:00 tomorrow morning. 40-50 mph wind with gusts to 65 mph, humidity at 5%. Not going to be nice outside.

Everyone have a quiet evening.

Popgadget, maybe the best landing you ever walked away from. (any landing you walk away from is a good landing). So glad yours ended safely. Was your plane heavy loaded? Also glad you can trim the prop. Did you have to give a lot of left rudder? I hope they figure out what went wrong....(and that they didn't do the same to the left engine.

I may have told this before. Friend's dad had new rebuilt engines installed in his Cessna 421. Took a full load of our town's bigwigs to Mexico to hunt. Motors had almost 50 hours on them. Heavily loaded, one engine quit somewhere in South Texas, maybe near the King Ranch. He had to give the other engine over 100% to hold altitude, trying to make it to a runway. That engine got overheated and quit, so he decided to make a wheels up belly landing. He said it was the smoothest landing he'd ever made. 1 guy had to get "cold cocked" for panicking.

30 going to 63 and sun.

Kyle, those old tractors are cool, especially the ones with little trees growing through them. I don't know the old ones very well...is that an Allis?
Your guess is as good as mine. A coat of paint, and she'll be plowing again, right?
39° need to get moving.

Glad you was safe landing popgadget.

Go to work today, then take off early to celebrate 35 years together with my wife. Time flies when you’re having fun.
Will eat in Gettysburg.

Good morning! A cloudy 64˚F day heading to the 80s.

Poppagadet, some excitement in life is nice, having to shut 50% of your motors off at 18,000' is not. It will be interesting to find the part that failed.

I'm too late the 15,000 invitations to the Tesla Cyber Rodeo down the road have been given away.
I also didn't fit in one of the three categories unless posting on TBN qualifies me as a Social Media Influencer.
"Tesla has also started sending a colorful Cyber Rodeo Giga Texas invitation email to Tesla owners, investors, and social media influencers to join the event."
Don, we passed that place both ways. It is a bit of a drive from you. Welcome to commuting world. Haha

Also, you have influenced me many times. So yes. You influenced me to put some peat moss in the ground before planting a blueberry shrub, and low and behold, for the 1st time, it has survived the winter. It has bloomed and now putting out little small green leaves now. Many other influences too.

Rich, I'm guilty of sometimes cobbling things together too....especially if I'm in a hurry.

BEF and Wifey, happy happy anniversary.

Having to make some small, detailed parts out of Peek plastic at work tomorrow. Spent half the day trying to merge Outlook archive.pst files, looking for an old email...spent the 2nd half programming the aforementioned part and setting up the mill.

Prayers for our team, our country, and Ukraine. (sounds like the local pronunciation of Ukraine is "Ook-rah-eeen") It is horrible what's been done to civilians over there.

43F and partly cloudy @ 23:00.

Got hopper feeder and both sunflower tube feeders refilled before we left for the vet earlier.

After we got back I drew about 30 gallons of water for partial water changes and got lots done on maintenance down in the fish room this afternoon and evening, but I had reinforcements ... :giggle:

We knocked off around 20:00 for dinner, probably still another days worth of down work there though to get fully caught up.

Had initially planned to get the flue pipe for the wood-burning furnace hooked up but discovered it was about 1' too long. The old crumbled when I took it out so it hard to get accurate measurements on but it looks like at least 1 section of pipe was only 1' long rather than 2'. Will need to pick that up at the hardware store next time I'm down that way.

Opted for not going up to the shop this afternoon as it was kind of chilly as Rich mentioned. Likely will head up there tomorrow as they are calling for it to be warmer (64F)

Amazon order came in, grow bags look good. The saucers/catch basins for the bottoms look like they may be a bit too small however. Will have to fill the bags with dirt though to be sure. If they end up being too small, we'll just use them with other pots we have which are smaller and then order some larger ones for the grow bags.

Still need to run the trash and recycles up to the road which I'll do here in a couple of minutes.

After that I have some Black-eyed Susan seeds I need to prep to be cold-stratified in the fridge so they can be planted in a couple of months.

Hope everyone had a great day ... (y)

I can't seem to get my internal clock set right lately; just alternate between being unable to sleep to sleeping too long. I tend to go to bed early, as much out of boredam as anything else, as I usually don't care for whatever my wife is watching on the boob tube in the early evening or late afternoon. So then I get up too early in the morning.

Anyway, I felt tired and sleepy most of the day yesterday, so I went to bed about 3 p.m. I knew we had rain and maybe severe weather in the forecast, but I got up about 8 p.m. for a short time, not signs of rain, went back to bed. Then this morning I got up about 2:30 a.m. and when I looked outside and saw some water in the driveway, I went out and found just over 3 inches in my little gauge. NWS shows the Denton Airport 10 miles from here got 2.47"; biggest rain we've had now in a year.

Apparently it all came just before midnight.

good morning all
3 inches of rain is a lot of rain Bird, a real soaker

cloudy day here before rains come in, low 50's.
I have church work to do this morning, meeting several different folks, including one of our members who has an oak sapling
grown from an acorn off the Salem Oak. https://visitsalemcountynj.com/about-salem-county/the-salem-oak/
We need to find a place to plant it this week on the edge of the graveyard. No more planting in the graveyard, cost of arborist on ancient trees
is huge but we can't have the old trees fall on the gravestones, some of which go back to early 1700's.

up early this morning, not sure why

RS, I bought some grow bags for potatoes also. Thought I'd use potting mix in the bags, wonder if that is heavy enough or do I need to mix some topsoil in.

32 right now...high in the mid-50's

Damn UTI struck back with a vengeance yesterday. 'Nuff said about that...rough day. My own fault...when it had subsided a couple weeks ago, I stopped taking the antibiotics. Won't make that mistake again...no whiskey either...and just one cup of coffee in the morning
