Good morning. 53 this morning headed to mid 80's. Sunny now with rain chance this afternoon.
Probably go cut up a few trees that are on the ground from hurricane Ida.

Morning all, 40 going up to 54 and the sun is back.
Bought a grill yesterday and assembled last night. Was slightly larger and cheaper than my last cheap grill.
Looks like it was made 6/21, so wonder if all the grills showed up finally and the Lowes warehouse is full up?

Sons team did well enough that they made finals, means more travel, more practice and a few more weekends I can't finish projects. Don't think he wants to do this again next year, but he won't quit now, so that's good.

We have had one crape myrtle spring to life in July, when the rest budded in May.

Paul - glad you made it ok. You make it sound like just a minor problem, sure it didn't seem that way when it happened. Hope the fix is not too expensive and the root cause is found so it doesn't happen again.

BEF - Happy anniversary and many more !

Stay safe and be well, hopefully today chainsaw work to clear up side yard for planting. Have a few 30"+ trunks on the ground that need to be bucked.

Picked up a small piece of clean Metal, 22ga to weld into the mower deck-$10 !

Yesterday’s trip did not go as planned. Climbing out of 18,000 feet, still in the clouds, the right engine in the turboprop lost oil pressure, causing me to shut it down.

We made an uneventful (other than the fire engines and other flashing lights) landing at Allentown, PA.

Looks like the oil departed the engine, but it was raining and not nice out, so I didn’t investigate, I’ll learn more today.
if you tinker with”classic” British motorcycles, that stream of oil would indicate it had oil in originally and things are relatively normal! :D

Good evening all. 52ºF for the start, clear sky light wind. Wind light in morning, brisk gust in afternoon, sky became partly cloudy in afternoon, and high temp was 82ºF, DP 49ºF. Chapel to start day, made Creme of wheat for breakfast, then went to town to deliver meals, then home again. After lunch bike maintenance, lost mounting screw last ride, no damage to threads in bike frmae so cleaned them up put thread lock on new scew and cross fingers. Got new tires on bike, and adjusted disc brakes. Was going to take nap but too close to dinner:(.
Randy just wondering, I met a few people that had plowed with both mules and horses, and they felt they could plow more acres with mules than horses.
Randy(wag) glad meeting went well and the added bonus of good pastry. Sorry about the time change.
RS some very pretty flowers you have planted.
Dennis glad you got all the data to where you can use it. Future very hard to predict right now.
Eric sorry about the typing issues with your fingers. hope most of the oak is taken care of. Some people just want to let their dogs roam. As more fields are containing cows as well as horses, I suspect there will be a thinning of the packs.
Billy glad you are done with firewood this year. Hope the pines do well enough to use as Christmas trees.
Drew hope the mason was able to get a good look and get you a good quote.
Buppies most of the rain this spring has been light, less then 1/3 inch. We are already in drought mode.
Bill hope today went well and the garage gets your lights wired soon. Glad no silver selling.
Thomas hope raking went well.
Kilroy hope your elderberry bushes don't get zapped.
RNG on dogs chasing bicycles, some of it is a speed thing. I pass one particular dog while it is being walked and it tries to go nuts, quite a handful. owner now has him sit down. Still wants to chase me on bike, but wife and I walked be him once, and he ignored us! Good to hear progress on burn piles and stick/rocks.
Rich have a lot of days like that, as long as the day was entertaining.
RS hope you got your plants potted, fish room maintenance and nap in.
Bird have some pepper spray, hopefully same effect.
Roy good to hear sleeping goes well. Wife has yet to perfect that.
Kyle nice looking chics :) that tractor should buff right out.
Randy nice looking rig on mules, cute kids games.
Ken hope son made finals, hope planting went well. nice pic
David sorry about the fence pricing.
Ted sorry the drip irrigation had to started so soon. Glad not a lot of plant loss over winter. Hope painting went well. Crepe Myrtles are slower to respond hear also.
Thomas glad raking going well.
Doug hope the Ipad goes over well also. Enjoy the new TV
Lou glad your kids got you some new TVs.

stay safe and healthy you all.

Mostly, my understanding is that draft horses move a bit faster but require more downtime, so most people agree that draft mules are better workers.

My father had a 1950 triumph thunderbird that tried to always lose it's oil and electrics

Good morning! 39 now, may get to 49 later. Supposed to be warmer but with rain this week.

Been doing some “office” type stuff this morning. Needed a vet appointment, the big cat has a respiratory infection, they can’t get him in until Wednesday. See how he does, may call a different vet.

Worked on the race bike I won in the raffle more yesterday. Yea it was cheap, but it is frustrating. It is so poorly put together it may not have been safe to ride. The fuel system is a mess, return line off the regulator was rubbing hard on the rear of the engine. Probably going to try sorting more of that mess out today.

Everyone stay safe out there!

There's a Norton Commando sitting in the great room right now, Rich, which hasn't had oil in the engine or oil tank for a very long time. Yet it still manages to leak. I think if there were enough of them around still, there would be no oil shortage and we'd all still be paying two bux a gallon for gas.

40F and cloudy @ 11:00, WU claims that we're currently having a rain shower but I see no evidence of it. They are calling for rain through 16:00. Being a little further north than Rich, WU is calling for a high of only 47F today.

Starting to see hints of yellow on the forsythia finally.

Hopper and one sunflower tube feeder now empty, other one low ... so those will need refilled today.

Appointment at the vet's later for "Mister" the Big Orange Cat - he's coming up on 16 years old and starting to look a little ragged. Suspect he may have diabetes so hopefully we'll get that checked out and get him on some kind of program/medications.

Will be the first time at this particular vet, be interesting to see how that goes (I'm hopeful) - she is of German ancestry and did her veterinary training in Germany.

Other than that, not much else on the agenda yet.

Might head up to the shop later and fire up the stove and see what trouble I can get into up there.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe Monday ... (y)

50°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 68° today. Looks like we'll be getting more rain for the better part of this week.

Not a lot done over the weekend. Ran some errands on Saturday. Burned some cardboard Sunday morning, then finally found my round tuit and assembled the speaker cabinet. Glued and screwed, but still need to cover it and add all the hardware. Wife brought a bunch of stuff back from storage, and now half the garage is full of stuff to sort and either sell, donate, or discard.

Happy (belated) Birthday, check.

Happy Anniversary, BEF.

Glad your incident was not more serious, Paul.

I always found that most dogs can be outrun on a bicycle, and that changing speed on them throws off their trajectory. I have, though, kicked more than my share of persistent ones over the years. These days, The Wife and I just carry one of those little sonic deterrent devices. Has both a high frequency sound and a flashing LED that sends them scurrying the other direction. Works great.
