Those crepe myrtles can be deceiving. We have a few. A lot of branches look dead and suddenly spring back better than ever. They are a bit later than some but ours still have some flowers now and we are in the middle of Autumn.
I hope so.... we really liked it. I think it is a goner though..... no new buds at all. If it starts out the bottom at the base, we'll let it resort back to it's normal habit of being a shrub.

Could you have your wife call mine..... I would like a bigger TV also:D(y)

I haven't bought a TV in 20 years, my kids seem to think I'm being deprived of something as I was watching and old rotary tune with an adapter.
So they got me a 48-55" for the living room, and it just sat there for a long time, then I bought a stand for it and hooked it up one weekend when one of them was here for the weekend. Then when they saw that I was still watching a little one in the kitchen in the morning they went and got me
a 17" flat lcd or led for there and about the same time one of them upgraded theirs and decided I should have this big ol 48" in the bedroom.
So all of my TV's have been free which is a good price and they are low houred in use :ROFLMAO::LOL::ROFLMAO:

Went to the city yesterday. My wife wanted to look at cabinets. I decided to look for a new tablet for her as she is forever complaining about her iPad. It took a while as I signed up for a larger internet plan at the same time. She disappeared while the paperwork was progressing. Eventually she arrived back and said she had been looking at TVs. She wants to re-arrange the lounge room and decided the 65" TV that I bought a less than a year ago wasn't big enough for where she wanted it. She said an 85" would be OK though. As we were leaving the shop she told me they were delivering a new 85" TV next week! ?? She said "I have paid for it".
I wonder whose card she used.?
Haven't got the cabinet yet.
Your wife is awesome for buying a larger TV, she is of a rare breed....usually the guy needs knee pads to get a bigger TV....haha

Morning all. Typical finicky Autumn weather as the overnight low was 15C and I woke up to 17C. It rained a bit overnight too, 3.3mm in the gauge. Currently 22C outside.

I'll get stuck-into some shed work this arvo. That's about it on this Monday.

Take care all.

Good evening all. 52ºF for the start, clear sky light wind. Wind light in morning, brisk gust in afternoon, sky became partly cloudy in afternoon, and high temp was 82ºF, DP 49ºF. Chapel to start day, made Creme of wheat for breakfast, then went to town to deliver meals, then home again. After lunch bike maintenance, lost mounting screw last ride, no damage to threads in bike frmae so cleaned them up put thread lock on new scew and cross fingers. Got new tires on bike, and adjusted disc brakes. Was going to take nap but too close to dinner:(.
Randy just wondering, I met a few people that had plowed with both mules and horses, and they felt they could plow more acres with mules than horses.
Randy(wag) glad meeting went well and the added bonus of good pastry. Sorry about the time change.
RS some very pretty flowers you have planted.
Dennis glad you got all the data to where you can use it. Future very hard to predict right now.
Eric sorry about the typing issues with your fingers. hope most of the oak is taken care of. Some people just want to let their dogs roam. As more fields are containing cows as well as horses, I suspect there will be a thinning of the packs.
Billy glad you are done with firewood this year. Hope the pines do well enough to use as Christmas trees.
Drew hope the mason was able to get a good look and get you a good quote.
Buppies most of the rain this spring has been light, less then 1/3 inch. We are already in drought mode.
Bill hope today went well and the garage gets your lights wired soon. Glad no silver selling.
Thomas hope raking went well.
Kilroy hope your elderberry bushes don't get zapped.
RNG on dogs chasing bicycles, some of it is a speed thing. I pass one particular dog while it is being walked and it tries to go nuts, quite a handful. owner now has him sit down. Still wants to chase me on bike, but wife and I walked be him once, and he ignored us! Good to hear progress on burn piles and stick/rocks.
Rich have a lot of days like that, as long as the day was entertaining.
RS hope you got your plants potted, fish room maintenance and nap in.
Bird have some pepper spray, hopefully same effect.
Roy good to hear sleeping goes well. Wife has yet to perfect that.
Kyle nice looking chics :) that tractor should buff right out.
Randy nice looking rig on mules, cute kids games.
Ken hope son made finals, hope planting went well. nice pic
David sorry about the fence pricing.
Ted sorry the drip irrigation had to started so soon. Glad not a lot of plant loss over winter. Hope painting went well. Crepe Myrtles are slower to respond hear also.
Thomas glad raking going well.
Doug hope the Ipad goes over well also. Enjoy the new TV
Lou glad your kids got you some new TVs.

Good morning, low temp 25 and going to a high of 43°F. Wind N 5 mph. Mainly sunny.

Dog goes for a pedicure this afternoon at the vets. She is super high strung (Pug), so they usually give her a mild sedative. She is not my choice for a dog, but then again she is not mine either. She belongs to DIL.

I will rest on my laurels until 9, then get it in gear and do what needs doing.

Have a safe day all

   / Good morning!!!! #148,150
31 outside, heading to lower 60's.

Busy weekend. All storm damage cleaned up, replace 14 window panes of glass on the barn, removed all metal and wood from horse pasture, recovered 2 pounds of screws. Waiting on insurance person to show. Got the chain saw out, gave up on two trees with snagged limbs. Attempted to get milk house window installed. Frame looks to have been eaten, so tore out entire window, reframed and now will have to think harder because I got replacement windows and not new install windows. Hoping I have the framing wood I need laying around somewhere. Hard matching up true wood dimensions to the nominal stuff of today. Quality is well...challenged too.

Both days I managed to walk over six miles between the barn, run in and milk house. LOL. Either I did a lot of work, or I was missing a tool or two. LOL.

And managed to - wait for it - Cut the grass. Yep, first cutting. Wife even weed whacked.

Think I will take a break this week. LOL.

Hope all are well. Be safe.

Prayers for Ukraine.

Good morning. A wet but not that unpleasant a day for us, with more buds and leaves opening up . We have blackthorn and a few cherry still in blossom, while hawthorns and willow trees are the first to turn green. First time in a while the roof tops and water troughs have not been covered in ice.

Many years ago, as a kid, I used to carry a water pistol loaded with ammonia when riding my bicycle in certain places.🤣🤣🤣

Bird !

I have heard of the French "Velo-dog" pistol, wouldn't be surprised if ammonia in a water pistol was just as effective for you - plus less chance of inadvertently puncturing a tire :giggle:

Good Morning!!!! 56F @ 3:30AM. Showers early, then partly cloudy for the afternoon. High around 75F. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 50%.
There is rain showing northwest of here on the radar map, but the weather lady on last night's broadcast said it will fall apart trying to get across the Coast Ranges and we'll remain dry. The cooler temps will be nice, though.

Seems like I tried the ammonia trick too, Bird. Stopped 'em like they hit a brick wall. Usually, though, me and my buddies just unclipped a foot and kicked the crap out of 'em.

You know deep down you wanna help your friend get that old tractor runnin', right Kyle? Is fried chicken on the menu once the chicks start producing eggs?

I bet that drive shaft made a noise when it let go, RS. Looking forward to seeing photos of all the pretty things you two have been planting when they pop out of the ground this spring.

Started yesterday feeding the hummers, then myself, then bouncing around between little jobs that have been piling up while I've been working the tractor. Then put four gallons through the backpack sprayer, giving poison oak and thistle a drink of RM43. Large rocks and steep ground had kept them safe from the 15 gallon sprayer on the side-by-side. Decided that some of the dirt coming out of the driveway cut could be used to improve the trail down there, and that the dozer needs to cut the property line all the way to the southeast corner. Might as well do it while the machine is already here.

Mike and Les dropped off a dump truck yesterday, so it looks like we're ready to start scratching away at the driveway today. It'll be interesting to see how far we can get.

Hope everybody's week gets off to a great start!

good morning all
55 and cloudy today and since nothing below freezing in ten day, it's time to plant.
Going to plant lettuce this morning, plus will be planting all the berry bushes. Landscapers coming back this morning to bring topsoil/compost, and then I plant 8 bushes, 6 blue and two blackberries. And then a good dose of hollytone to add needed acid, and a layer of peat moss on top.

had a very good meeting with mason yesterday at church. Am sure his proposal will be well received.

nice dinner at brother's last night and the home made blackberry pie was awesome. I was sent home with two more pieces and look forward to dessert tonight.
Also spoke with elderly MIL, she said her son and grandson both got alligatoritus from wife who went skiing in Colorado with five girl friends. Five out of six came down sick, and they had
to rent a private charter jet to bring them home to NC. I'm sure that cost a pretty penny, and an interesting situation for pilot knowing everyone in plane is sick.
BIL and son both home sick with bad sore throats. That makes four sick folks in close family in last month. Intense social gatherings are clearly still risky.

going to call dentist this morning to make appointment for mouth guard. It may accomplish nothing with my TMJ and tinnitus but have to try.

got the mower fully serviced, leaf bagger off and blades sharpened, I could mow some onion grass but think I'll wait. Lot of rain coming in over next five days and ground already soft.
I found the lock 'n lube fitting on grease gun made several fittings almost impossible to get to due to tight clearances and extra width and reduced flexibility of zerk connector.
Once it clicks on it works wonderfully but JD hides the zerks on the spindles, not on top as usual. Nothing like a little green grease under the fingernails. I always forget to wear gloves and always wish I had.

Good Morning.
It’s 39 headed to 50 here under clear skies.

Yesterday’s trip did not go as planned. Climbing out of 18,000 feet, still in the clouds, the right engine in the turboprop lost oil pressure, causing me to shut it down.

IMG_0544.jpg

We made an uneventful (other than the fire engines and other flashing lights) landing at Allentown, PA.

IMG_8496.jpg

Looks like the oil departed the engine, but it was raining and not nice out, so I didn’t investigate, I’ll learn more today.

But I did end up getting home early enough to get some speaker work done in the shop and have a nice dinner with the whole family.

Today will be mostly in the shop, but I’ll have to do a little paperwork for yesterday ‘s events.

Glad to read you came down safely.
I've only been on 1 flight (commercial 737 size) where they "lost" an engine. We were going from Dulles to Germany, got over about Nova Scotia and an engine went out.
We circled back to Ohio, glided in and dumped fuel, landed safely back at Dulles.
Based on the fear factor of fellow travellers there was a lot of "paperwork" filled out.

39° need to get moving.

Glad you was safe landing popgadget.

Go to work today, then take off early to celebrate 35 years together with my wife. Time flies when you’re having fun.
Will eat in Gettysburg.

Good morning! A cloudy 64˚F day heading to the 80s.

Poppagadet, some excitement in life is nice, having to shut 50% of your motors off at 18,000' is not. It will be interesting to find the part that failed.

I'm too late the 15,000 invitations to the Tesla Cyber Rodeo down the road have been given away.
I also didn't fit in one of the three categories unless posting on TBN qualifies me as a Social Media Influencer.
"Tesla has also started sending a colorful Cyber Rodeo Giga Texas invitation email to Tesla owners, investors, and social media influencers to join the event."

But Don, this is social media, and you've influenced us. BTW, my wife told me Musk is buying up one of the social media companies.
