Good morning!!!!

good morning all.
Grey sky out, rain is about to start and go for most of the day.
Not good timing since I am meeting a mason after church service to look at mortar work on caretaker's home on church grounds.
First estimate was over 200K, monopoly money to a small church. This mason actually lives 1/4 mile from me and we know each other a little, plus
I've seen his pointing work and it's superb. Just hope his proposal is...

Then off to brother's home for dinner where his wife has baked a blackberry pie for me from the blackberries I put away/froze last summer from local orchard.

RS, when you break something, you do a thorough job of it! ;) Hope the repair goes well; am sure you want your tractor going again soon.

Good morning, low temp 30 and going to a high of 39°F. Wind NE 5 mph. 70% chance of flurries/rain showers.

I got the lights installed, but I am going to let the garage wire them up and install a new light cord plug. They gotta make a buck too. We've only got the one decent garage in town and if you don't support them they wont be here.

Power washer ready to be picked up, I will do that tomorrow.

I measured the 'V' plow and it looks like a SSQA will fit on it, with a little adapting and the whole thing will work with the tractor. I've got the steel here. Some 1/2" plate that was for a different project that got shelved.
That job will get done after I get back from the annual meetings.

I was going to sell some silver while I was down south, I don't need to do that now. This is a good thing. It also eliminates one stop out of my schedule. Tomorrow morning I will eliminate a second stop by ordering the stainless pipe I need for a remake of the exhaust on the tractor, online.
I wish I could do my medical online.

Today is going to be an inside day I think.

Have a safe day all

Good Morning!

starting out at 49F, I just put the buckets with the elderberry bushes outside - we didn’t drop as low as forecasted (which is fine) but I KNOW there is one more plant zapper of a frost coming. . . Because it always does. . .

Good Morning!!!! 60F @ 5:00AM. A mix of clouds and sun. High 82F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.

I never figured out why some dogs go crazy chasing vehicles, bicycles especially. I once got bit by a dog while riding a motorcycle; broke the skin on my knee, sheriff had to monitor the dog for rabies and it was fine. Dog owners are more to blame than the dogs...

Changed both fuel filters on the tractor yesterday, replaced the broken 3rd function switch, then moved the remnants of root balls from three burn piles up to a flatter place to finish them off. Graded out the three burn piles, and now you'd never know they were there. Finished the day raking up sticks and rocks that the clearing work had spread onto the driveway, then used 4in1 bucket to pick up the piles. Should have just used the 4in1 to start with, as I ended up back dragging the whole area anyway. Still have some more clean up to do on the lower end of the property, so may take care of that today.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend!

Good morning! 35 now, allegedly going to 48 later.

seems like I did a lot yesterday, but nothing stands out. Probably just did too many small things. I know Oscar the Friendly Goose spent the day following me around.

Going to make breakfast shortly, my wife did something to her back yesterday. She is hurting, so I will make breakfast. Not sure what sounds good yet.

Who knows what else today will bring.

Everyone stay safe out there!

34F, wet, and cloudy @ 08:30.

Up way too early.

Hopper and sunflower tube feeders still half full or more.

Today's high of 44F will not occur until around 17:00 ... so not going to venture up to the shop today. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday offer much better prospects, with highs of 59F, 67F, and 63F and rain on Tuesday and Wednesday.

No matter - this is the time of year when it is typically too wet to be doing much in the way of tractor work anyways. And it's not like there's any shortage of things to do down here at the house.

Will schedule some bills for payment, maybe plant the Caladiums and Elephant Ears The Woman picked up (if I can find suitable pots) and so other plant tending, some fish room maintenance and kitchen cleanup. See what else comes up.

May try to work in a nap as well.

Tomorrow afternoon the Big Orange Cat has a vet appointment, so I need to dig up the time for that in my notes.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable Sunday.

I certainly agree about the owners. Many years ago, as a kid, I used to carry a water pistol loaded with ammonia when riding my bicycle in certain places.🤣🤣🤣

Up late today, and sleeping in felt really good.. I should do it more often

36° right now...high in the 40's (bet it doesn't make it above the low 40's!) and mixed precipitation

Other than paying a few bills, it'll be a low key day (like every Sunday should be)

Baby chicks. Blue laced red wyandottes...

We stopped for my first time, at a friend's property that they've been working on. I told him why on earth did you get another tractor, this land came with one....

Morning all 44 going to 52 and rain moving out.
Too wet to go and move brush and tree parts, falling behind in my cleanup work, oh well.

Sons competition went fine, they did about the same points as last time. May be the last competition as next is finals and don't think they have enough points.

Place was out towards Valley forge with the cooling towers of a nuclear plant not too far away. Got caught up waiting for the police motorcade for the poor policeman who got run over by the drunk a week or so back by Philly. So many police, fire etc showing support, the wait was no big deal when we saw why.

Looking - happy birthday to your DIL!
PopG - have fun with the kids tonight.

RS - looks like you made a 3D puzzle-hope the new parts go back in easier than the olds ones came out.

Tired from yesterday loading the truck twice with band equipment. Doing all the land clearing started me out a bit tired.

We bought a Japanes White Pine yesterday to plant.
Looking for a black pine as wife always wanted one. Then we think planting a semi-circle of forsythia around the outside of that area to act as a privacy hedge to our present neighbors. I think that will be cleanest. We already have two almond and a burr oak there. The Oak is only 4' tall so far, but looks healthy. Almond trees took a hit over winter and are still about 3' tall, but seem to be coming back.

Have to clean out out the fallen ash from that area and start making holes.

Stay safe and be well,

65°F and 1.95 inches rain.

Made an excursion to HD yesterday. Gutters for the caretaker unit and top rail pipe for the chain link fence up by the cottage. Big mistake not doing that when I installed the fence. Pipes were over $19 each. Figured I’d have on hand ready for after my cataract recovery.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Good morning to all! Low was only 39°, but warmed up quickly. Already at 64° on the way to 72°.

Started up the drip irrigation system today, should get at least half of the beds watered, if not more. The rest will get their drink tomorrow.

I think we lost one tree planted last spring.... a crepe myrtle. About 4' tall, did well all throughout the summer..... surprised it didn't make it through the winter. We'll let it go for another few weeks to see if it is just a late bloomer.

Lots of the perennial flowers are starting to emerge. Some coreopsis that the wifey started from seed may have not made it. Still kinda really cool in the mornings, so maybe delayed.... The asiatic lilies haven't emerged, but they like it really warm.

Our clippings from a golden willow have popped their buds and look like they have the start of some roots emerging. Another few weeks and they will get put in some grow bags. Wifey is already planning where they will go along the new fence line. At least I know I have a year before I have to dig those holes;)

Going out to the shop now.... I was hoping that the boards took it upon themselves to have a staining party overnight, but that didn't happen. No rush to do all of them, so going to try and make the task enjoyable..... some music, nice roll about stool, and a leisurely pace....

Hope everyone has a great day!

Those crepe myrtles can be deceiving. We have a few. A lot of branches look dead and suddenly spring back better than ever. They are a bit later than some but ours still have some flowers now and we are in the middle of Autumn.

Went to the city yesterday. My wife wanted to look at cabinets. I decided to look for a new tablet for her as she is forever complaining about her iPad. It took a while as I signed up for a larger internet plan at the same time. She disappeared while the paperwork was progressing. Eventually she arrived back and said she had been looking at TVs. She wants to re-arrange the lounge room and decided the 65" TV that I bought a less than a year ago wasn't big enough for where she wanted it. She said an 85" would be OK though. As we were leaving the shop she told me they were delivering a new 85" TV next week! ?? She said "I have paid for it".
I wonder whose card she used.?
Haven't got the cabinet yet.
