alien, maybe I am biased BUT I already have a Kohler boat anchor and I don't want another one. The mower I am looking at has a Kawasaki engine and one handed speed and steering.
This is what i want, but they aren't going to make any until June Avenue - Country Clipper Zero Turn Mower
This is what i will probably end up gettingXLT - Country Clipper Zero Turn Mower
That joystick sure looks interesting. Not sure my hands could cope with that. The pains tingling wake me several times a night as it is. I can handle the Kubota handle bars ok by lightly resting on them. I didn't want to part out the extra cash for the commercial Kubota to get the Kwakka motor. Too big a difference.
My ride-on tractor has a Kawasaki twin on it and I love that motor. If the Kohler ever plays up I will put a Kwakka on it. So far (15 hours) it has been fine but it is a noisy thing compared to a Kwakka.

My mate Hank wanted me to do some drone footage of his creek and fence damage after the floods. It was the most challenging drone flight I have done so far.
I could not see the drone for 95% of the flights. The creek goes through bush so I was constantly dodging branches, trees etc and because the creek had some fall in it, I had to constantly adjust the altitude to compensate. It is the first time I have flown 100% using the controller screen.
It was fun. Even found a wrecked car that had been washed down the creek. It was a small 4x4 and there was nothing much left of it. Apparently it belonged to a neighbour further upstream.
Well, I am going to the club today and will just fly the drone. Overcast but warm and calm.

So there was a fire in the main town today.
Fire Dept was prompt, but found a car in front of hydrant (illegally of course).

Since they had to put the fire out, they got creative.

Great Fire Dept! Fire out with minimal building damage. Can't say as much about the cars windows.

And I would hope the insurance company denies any claim.

Morning/afternoon all! Another cool (heavy dew) morning with a low of 6.5C. We're going up to 23C. Sunny sky. Light breeze.

Just a couple of things to still return or put away from the soiree. Almost done but I'm in no hurry.

Take care all.

Good evening all. 34ºF for the start, mostly clear sky, light breeze, Light wind, clear sky, and high temp of 78ºF, DP 22ºF. Finish chain saw work on last load, split wood now stacked, have some wood to split now that chain saw done. Got bike ride in, having to adjust to warmer temps. Did get nap in.

Randy(wag) bet it was fun watching the cat and Guinea Fowls stare down the cat :)
Don good to hear Carvana came through. As long as the check clears.
Don thanks for followup on pickup
Dennis for what it's worth I have been spending less overall then planned.
Bill hope you got a nap in.
Roy glad training ok. hope customer issue ended well.
Helogabals had custom cabinets in last house made with birch plywood. Nice pic. I can see that chair would mess with robot.
Bird still a few cool mornings yet.
Paul probably 1 guy figuring same as you, buy enough for a long time.
Drew good luck with truck, hope you get good start on problems of world :)
Thomas hope date night went well.
Billy send some rain our way, we would love it.
RNG good to hear dozer part of clean up done, is he done with trails now? enjoy you range. nice pic
Eric the problem is while outside, you see what else needs to be done. Glad you get to eat all the YP, sorry about missing out on YP Frisbee.
Dennis sorry to hear about your cold. Going to visit Dad?
Helogabals thanks for info.
Ken hope Dr works out and blood work comes back good.
Rich when you say adoption are you talking about the legal part, or just the cat becoming a regular member of home group?
PJ that is the trouble with being far away from weather radar, light precip does not always show on radar. I remember marine plywood as being very expensive, after redoing a pontoon boat motor mount.
Dennis sorry about gray, nice they sent pic of kittens.
David full agenda today hope Honda repair went well.
Ted good luck finding motivation. The more you try, the better it gets. restart in spring always the hardest for me.

Ken neat pic maybe car will not get parked there again.
Doug glad you were up to the challenge of flying the drone over creek bed. nice pics
Randy sounds like nice weather, hope you get finished with picking up after fund raiser

It was warmer and clear yesterday afternoon. Went out and washed the pickup. Started on the annual wax job also. If the wx is good today - finish the wax job.

   / Good morning!!!! #147,767
One up on you oosik. I cleaned the mustang and the Ranger. No need for waxing yet. I did them not too long ago.
Today I stopped at an auto shop and bought a foamer to make things easier next time.

Good morning! 54˚F heading for 90, wow could be a pool day. But first our group leader at the gardens has sent out an e-mail for request to help him do the Spring maintenance on the mowers, tillers and other power equipment in the barn. We are also getting ready for our spring plant sale which pays for all the maintenance and fuel for the mowers and tractor. That reminds me I have not been on the tractor since my knee surgery, I'll have to correct that today.
RNG and Mostly, I'll wait a while and then call the bank next week to make sure the check cleared. I was watching a new show on my free AppleTV+ called "WeCrashed", it's entertaining but not a show to watch if you are waiting for a company's check to clear.

good morning all
cloudy day with rain showers this afternoon, high in low 50s, then temps drop for next three days with nights in low 20's.

Mostly, you can delete my brother and his wife...both spent two to three days in bed, my brother still did tax returns at home, but both are ok now.
thanks

going to spend some time today planning my trip to SC in May, now that train isn't an option. Probably will drive to NC and visit friends, then 5 hours South to Folly Beach.
Think I'll just stay on Rt 17 and take it down the coast. Funny you pick up 17 once over the big bridge from Delmarva to VA, and then 17 runs right through Washington and then further South.
Guessing it must have been an old colonial coastal road. I will do anything possible to stay off Rt 95.

I'm curious about insurance and the windows in the car broken by firemen. I've seen that happen before, just not sure if there is an exclusion for that.
If you speed and have a wreck, they pay. If you run a red light, they pay. So screwing up and parking in a stupid place, pretty sure they will pay.
And then I hope they either jack up their rates or cancel them. If the car has a lien on it, insurance usually has to pay anyway for benefit of lienholder.
You really have to be dumb or clueless to park right in front of a fire hydrant.

Roy glad training ok. hope customer issue ended well.
Training went OK...customer issue not yet resolve. The folks I work with at the customer don't know many of the details either. Hopefully, it'll be squared away next week...to our advantage

37° right now...feels colder. High in the upper 40's today...

Dump run is the main chore...only chore, come to think about it...overcast day and nothing outside need to be done. Couple weeks I'll be doing pre-mowing maintenance of the zero-turn

   / Good morning!!!! #147,773
Good morning, low temp 31 and going to a high of 36°F. Wind W 34 mph. Flurries or rain showers.
36 is the highest temperature forecast until next Tuesday when it will get to 37.

I was debating with myself about putting the backhoe on the tractor next week. But, maybe not.

Alien, my shoulders wont be able to handle the ape hanger steering of conventional zero turns, that is why the CC and single lever steering.

My Dad who was on a volunteer fire department to me that 'in town' if you parked any of his cars in front of a fire hydrant I would be paying for the windows and then NEVER be able to drive ANY of his cars ever again. He told me this when I was 13 years old. Legal driving age was 16 at the time. You needed a beginners' permit in order to do the driving test and could get it once you turned 16.
I have a sneaky suspicion that he knew all along that I was the one joyriding in his cars.

I don't think I will do much today, too cold outside.

Have a safe day all

Good Morning!!!! 56F @ 5:00AM. Sun and clouds mixed. High 82F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.
The 10-day is calling for rain Sunday night into Monday. Maybe as much as 1/2". Not a lot, but we need everything we can get.

I watched a video yesterday covering the work going on in a Brisbane BMW motorcycle shop to recover dozens of bikes that were caught in a flood caused by those rains, Doug. All were washed, all fluids drained, kerosene run through the engines, transmissions, and tanks, and not sure what else. A huge amount of work assisted by a lot of volunteers.

Congratulations on your retirement, Rich! Won't be long before you wonder how you ever found the time to work a full time job...

The dozer operator finished cutting the loop trail yesterday, then widened the pad at the top so I could turn the side-by-side around without making a three point turn. While he was doing that, I cut down a four trunked black oak that had been blocking the view of a very pretty madrone. Been thinking about doing that for years, but only recently had enough chain to keep the trunks out of the madrone when they fell. Steep hill, and of course the madrone is downhill from the oak.

Made a long drone flight over the areas yesterday, so long the autopilot took over the landing because the battery was getting low. Still an awful lot of dead brush and trees out beyond the property lines, but not much I can do about it. You might wanna skip this one as it's pretty long, and probably boring to everyone but the property owner...

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend!

Morning all, 46 and going up, before it turns around Monday and gets freezing again.
Getting ready to clean out some more brush in the back yard.

Fox crossed right in front of Dog and I this morning, maybe 15'. Then went to come back across driveway right where we were standing, looked up, and ran like h*ll :ROFLMAO: so focused on getting breakfast for the baby's.

New blade on the FS110, time to get to work,

Stay safe and be well,

Good Morning
45 and that’s the high for the day. Not a bad day, but the onset of spring is definitely slowing down.

Yesterdays trip was uneventful except for the 120 it headwind on the way to Asheville. Of course we only had a 80 it tailwind coming home, and even that was negated by having to hold for a “VIP Movement”. I still got home in time to cut up a batch of that high priced plywood. Here’s enough parts for 4 speakers.

IMG_8425.jpg

No music last night, singer was not feeling well, and had an Alligator nearby. Hopefully he didn’t get bit.

First thing after breakfast today is to empty the shop dust collector, I’ve got about 2 55 drums filled with sawdust. I end up just dumping it in the hedge row, I can’t find anyone nearby that wants it because it’s a lot finer than planer shavings.
Then it’s back to making sawdust, I’ve got to cut the dados in all those parts I cut out yesterday.
Hopefully play some music tonight, probably just me and one guitarist.

Good morning to all! Low of 39°, going up to 68°.... 70° tomorrow. Then the precip from out RNG's way gets to us on Tuesday. We really need the moisture, but high temps will drop back into the low 50's. Hopefully a quick warm up will happen again.

RNG, I watched through the whole video. He sure accomplished a good amount of clearing. Looked really smooth from the air.... probably not so much on the ground. Too bad you couldn't use a GIS survey map and overlay it. Have no clue as where the property lines are....
Are you going to seed it with any native grasses or wildflowers?

Ken, you're going to give Thomas a run for 'who has the most wildlife' .... he still has one up on you with BooBoo though...👍🏼😁 Always a treat to see a fox!

PopG, nice job on the speaker parts. Do you dothem by hand with a jig or do you have a CNC cutter? Looks very precisely done.

Roy, thanks for sharing Peter Gabriel. I like that song a lot!

Drew, are they just overbooked for the train or don't they have one going at the time you need? Hopefully driving won't be too hard for you. Maybe extend out the visit / trip so you can take more frequent breaks?

I searched and searched yesterday, looking for my motivation..... couldn't find it....looked high and low. Figured I could resume the search today....🧐🔍

Don, hitting 90° already...... I hope it's not a sign of temps to come....might be a really hot summer!

Everyone have a great weekend!
