Good morning!!!!

had a fun drive around the neighborhood in Miata with top down.
Getting out with the top down isn't so hard, if it were up, not sure my body would twist that way.
Then we got back and washed both the Miata and my Volvo.
Good exercise, got sweaty outside in the sun, about 73 now, felt great
Didn't even bother washing the Volvo wheels, driving home in rain tomorrow...

The little town of Milton is facing a doubling of its 2000 person size due to a huge development coming in, right next to friend's home. Currently corn fields. My friend is head of the local HOA and has been embroiled in public meetings for almost a year. And probably another year to come.

I remember this happening to my small town of New Hope. It was around 1000 people growing up, and by the time I got out of high school it had grown to about 1500. Then a big townhouse development was planned, and my father and many others fought it. They lost. Added almost six hundred folks to population. And this is surely local color, since so many of the inhabitants were gay, it didn't stress out the school system. This is normally what happens, town has to build a hugely expensive new school.
Curative amendment, forcing all the zoning to be rewritten.

I lived in the small village of St. Jacob IL for about eight years before getting married. The population was about 800 people when I moved there. A couple of new large subdivisions built on the edge of town caused that to jump to about 1200 by the time I left (I believe it's around 1400 now). They had to build a new school to accommodate the 50% growth. People who lived in the older part of town where I lived were none too happy about having their taxes raised to pay for a new school. The growing pains were not always friendly at the monthly village hall meetings.

Don, a part of my front yard gets very little, or no, sunlght, so that's why I was leaning toward the Tall Fescue. But nothings set in stone. What else might give me grass in the front yard with absolute minimal sunlight? Rye grass did well for a time in the past, but as expected it eventually died out. I might consider astro turf except I don't know how I'd get those blasted little acorns out of it.:LOL::LOL:
I'd go with a boarder area with rock or mulch. I'll get a few pics and post later. Out here there is little attempt to grow grass under trees you will loose, unless you got them trimmed so sunlight gets through.

This was in the neighborhood, I pulled over and got a quick pic in my side mirror, there was a lot more smoke and the driver bailed out of the skid steer.
It was over in about two minutes when the skid steer died in this position.

Kyle, I think my episode was similar in circumstances..... the little voice inside told me to sit on the edge of the bed first..... I didn't listen. I got up way too fast, still half asleep.

My doctor told me years ago to sit on the side of the bed with both feet flat on the floor for an actual minute, before standing.

74° and sunshine, very light winds.
My apple tree was leaning for a couple of years, last years bumper crop took it way over. So today we straightened up with the tractor and tow strap and Y’d two stakes with rope attached. Will leave it a few weeks then fine tune it if needed. Still needs pruning.

Then I took my tractor with the spray rig on it, and my ZTR to my shop building for service. First though I mowed part of my yard just because it felt good.

I have to do that in the mornings. But it's not to get my bearings. I'm stretching the arches in my feet.

If I don't, I'm hobbling around like a 90yo do to tendinitis.

The purpose is to stabilize your BP before standing so you don’t get a sudden drop.
However, it does work wonders for stretching your arches.

Another tree taken down, no problems. Bore cut this time to stop the barberchairs I keep getting.
The 18" bar just barely made it through to the other side.
Leaner is still standing. It is cut almost all the way through and still won't budge, even though the base was dry rot.
If it dries up enough it will be some seat time to clear the mess up and get ready for some milling.

Here if you look you can see 4 trees lines up, another two in the woods and another in the other direction.
Who needs firewood!
Time to chill, have a great evening.

Good morning to all! Low was 31°, heavy freezing fog / frost just before sunrise. Now up to 39° and only a few spots of frost left. High should reach into the mid 50's.

I put Max out for his last run at about 9:30 last night..... he started barking with that "something's out there" stance.... then I saw the neighbor's German Sheppard and Blue Heeler dogs at the fence trying to say HI!. Gave them a call and then proceeded to try and guide them back home. I was about halfway there (2 1/2 acres away) when they beat me there..... unfortunately, soon as their owner started calling them back into their fenced area.... well they wanted no parts of that.... off they went again. I did my part....

The dogs are friendly, so not too concerned about them coming here. I'm more concerned that they will get shot somewhere else, or find the way down to the road and get hit.

Doug, that heart rate is strange.... usually goes the other direction. I hope they can find what is causing the sudden variation. How often does it happen?

Drew, nice to hear you had a pleasant drive to your friends house. I don't think I would be able to get in / out of a Miata... good luck!

Bill, good luck catching the cats. Are they de-clawed? Might be interesting...

Ken, have a safe trip up to Long Island. Hopefully traffic won't be too bad.

WNG, sorry to hear that your tractor bridge was under water.... That much rain will surely make some mud for sure!

RNG, are you able to get some seat time on the dozer? Maybe if you ask nice and provide a nice cool beverage to the operator, he would let you play....😇

Kyle, hope your mom feels better and they can get to stabilize her breathing.

PJ, have some fun building the speaker cabinet. Pics please...

PopG, ... wow, you're actually taking an 'easy' day..... well deserved, enjoy!

I may take the opportunity to change the oil in the car today, still didn't get it done due to getting sick, then the syncope. I am feeling much, much better this morning, sooo.... now I just need to convince the wifey to take off the leash.....🥺

Everyone have a great day! I can't believe it's another weekend already....
My wife has regular irregular moments of very low pulse rate leaving her dizzy. This was the first time we caught it visibly on the pulse oximeter. (We also have a BP monitor) She has booked in to get the monitor fitted. Need to sort this out asap.

Morning all! No rain but a blustery afternoon/evening. An overnight low of 8C, presently 16C with a predicted high of 19C.

I'll be up early tomorrow morning IOT start the charcoal for a lamb spit-roast. On at 0700 for a 1300 carving. I'll also need to 'turn on' the slow cooker at 0500 for the pulled pork. This is for an annual 'fund raising' soirée that I host here at "Wagtail Park" which is usually held towards the end of January but, due to (bloody) COVID, was postponed to this Sunday.

Take care all!

The lot down in VA is a no go, way too many covenants.

Took off half a day. Started clearing more around the shed. I wrote some stuff up in my shed thread.

Came in about 7, wife said everyone for themselves for supper. So I fired up the grill, and suddenly they all wanted burgers too.
The igniter button is missing from the grill, so the new igniter switch I bought last year is toast.

Took this a couple nights ago, where is Ron for a good moon picture?

BEF, I just read your entire 'shed moving' thread..... now I'm tired and have to go lie down....
Your last location looks like a good place. Probably the easiest of all for sure.

Just don’t fall down again.
With my afib, I used to get light headed sometimes when standing up. After 2 heart ablations, I haven’t noticed it happening any more.
