You don't see many of those old single arm loaders anymore, they weren't real popular over here even when new.
operating one on a slope with a load might get dicey.

my BIL who did my avatar in California sent me something fun today. He is illustrating a children's book and here is one of the
lead characters named Drew-A-Taur. He is doing a wonderful job animating a front end loader for sure.
I still like my apple tree avatar but this was fun too.
No need for hydraulic fluid, just stretch those legs out... ;)
Can't wait for the book with lots more illustrations.

I told him he nailed it, right down to the weight box, ROPS, etc
The front end has a little Peterbilt in it...

..., grass is already turning green, wild onions and garlic are standing tall. Most trees are budding and the willows are getting leaves. Spring is upon us.
DST starts Sunday.
I noticed this week that the winter wheat is starting to green up in the fields around here.

For that answer just look into the studies.
"Conclusions: While smoking is one behavioral factor that seems to have some association with KSD, no clear effect of alcohol and physical activity has been demonstrated."

"Does Alcohol Cause Kidney Stones?

No direct link between alcohol and kidney stones has been proven. However, alcohol can cause dehydration, which is linked to kidney stone formation. For this reason, alcohol use is not recommended if you have kidney stones or are trying to prevent them.

In addition, there are other factors to consider:

  • Dehydration: If you drink, particularly in excess, it can cause dehydration, which is linked to kidney stone formation.
  • Weight gain: Drinking excessively means you are getting a lot of empty calories, which can cause weight gain. Being overweight or obese are also risk factors for kidney stones.
  • Uric acid: Alcohol like beer contains something called purines, which are the building blocks of uric acid. Purinescan lead to the formation of uric acid kidney stones, and beer could exacerbate problems that you have with high purine levels."

There are other studies also.

I think I will go with my 44 years experience. Too easy to find studies/reports raising doubt to almost any subject. Of course once doubt has been raised, there is job security on both sides. I still eat eggs, too.

"I wonder about the adhesives they use on these granite counter tops, drill it first and a stainless steel pin?"

"
They have a special glue and fill in with mortar. That glue is amazingly strong.
Think 3 or four small steel pins would stop it from twisting over time.
Tile place will have the glue and anything else you need.

Seems like this would be a bit under $40"

Well heck I'm up early, my wife woke me up to see the damned bear that was destroying the bird feeders,
got that sob run off and wide awake for now.

View attachment 736644

Looking I say a yearling just under 200 pound.
reached up and tore one feeder that hung off the eave of the house, got up on the deck and pulled down a suet feeder and big seed feeder.
Destroyed all of them, took off when I hollared at him.
This is a picture from an Arlo cam that looks out to the driveway.
He/she will be back...hope there nothing in vehicles might be of interest.

Morning all;
My wife got a few pictures of the danged critter that disturbed my sleep last night;

This is looking out the kitchen window, the bottom of that feeder is about 6' above the ground
View attachment 736670

And here he is enjoying the bird seed while destroying the feeders, just before I ran him off!

Then it was a couple of hours before my wife would calm down and let me sleep,
at least I got to sleep in a bit she had to get to work, saw her off at 7 and took a nap till 9 breakfast time now.
I stumble something works very well keep bears out of shed,I hang 18" windchimes yet to have bear enter shed, maybe windchimes close to feeder may help.

42F few clouds.

Out the door early this morning needed to clear 2 1/2" snow before leaving long day pt. job.
Most snow melted 2 robins bouncing on lawn with no snow. :)

Plans for the evening 0 nothing feet up.

Enjoy your evening all.

He/she will be back...hope there nothing in vehicles might be of interest.
I expect it was the same one that came by last fall,
I managed to straighten out and repair all those feeders.
Was able to salvage one single tube feeder today and put some out on a piece of plastic for today.
I think I bring the feeders inside for the next week or so at night.
He was trotting right along when he went past another camera I have on the edge of the lawn to catch the deer, turkey and early this spring a pair of foxes. That one doesn't have the light set to activate so all I could see was two eyes reflecting in the infared.

I get kind of mean at times, I'm tempted to hang the feeders high off my deck and put an electric fence up on the steps.
We don't have many of them around here yet, more then there used to be now.

I know the bee keepers fence in the hives with battery powered fencers to keep them out.

We just had a large granite counter top installed in our new kitchen. Two joins. Guys were very fussy. Special adhesive they mixed on the spot. About a 1 mm gap. They colored it to suit as they mixed it. No pins. It is rock hard and barely visible. I might put a pic up of the join later as I have a fair bit on today. Neighbour is coming to help me get the tractor unbogged later. Hope he doesn't get stuck too but we have lots of chain. Counter top is called Isa Rose. It is from Mount Isa in Queensland.

beautiful granite Doug. Just buy lots of cutting boards. I had a hard time keeping my wife from cutting things on it.
As you might imagine, I had to sharpen our knives a lot.

finance school board zoom meeting done, very interesting presentation by our investment advisors, Friends Fiduciary.
They provide a service that is very helpful because it offers a guaranteed payout based on a three year rolling average.
Currently 4 percent. So lots of treasurers of small churches and organizations can be assured of a budget-able income stream
each year. We still get the regular yield, currently averaging 10 percent long term, but they guarantee, and we can budget on, 4 percent.
No insurance or annuities involved, just conservative reserves.

There are long standing mutual funds used by Catholics that go through different eligibility screens. Faith in action. One thing for sure, going green ten years
ago has really paid off in investments. Energy used to be over ten percent of the S&P, now it's half that or less.
And we talked about green bonds, which you can guess their nature, and now there are blue bonds, a subsection of green. I even stumped the presenter
on that, got a chuckle from the head of the finance committee... Blue bonds deal with oceans, lakes and rivers and the water focus of ecology.

Life is usually best when balanced. My Colorado copper mines went up 35% this year. Strip mining on steroids.
But US workers got paid and were overseen by OSHA, not the horrors of third world countries. And our country sure needs copper.
I'm not too happy with India right now. They would not censure Putin. Follow the money.

money may not be the source of all evil but greed sure is pulling hard for top spot.

am reminded of the folk song words of "teach your children".

have a good evening.

Went past the Royal Farms where I buy fuel, diesel was $5.25 gal. By the time I need fuel again it’ll probably be $6 or more.

Well I got my incometax paperwork sent off to the accountant. $13.21 registered mail. I always send it registered IF I don't deliver it in person. I can't drive the 60 miles each way for that money now. Gas here was $1.956/Litre ($7.39/US gallon).

Lou, how do you know your bear is a he, it might be a she. :ROFLMAO:

check, glad your wifes' operation went O.K.

Although we had had some melting snow, I still cannot see the top of the drilled wellhead which is 24" above grade. We didn't get as much snow as we've had other winters. Not even close, but maybe I shouldn't count my chickens before they are hatched. Winter is not over yet. Not until Labour Day weekend.

We have a granite counter top in our kitchen, installed when we remodeled in 2017. Given the number of things we've broken on it in those 5 years ... including the pitcher for the blender just last weekend ... we'd likely never do that again. It looks fantastic. It's just 100% unforgiving.

Good to see you stopping in here, Wag.

I filled up this evening after work. Price dropped 25¢ since Monday to $4.349/gal.

Thomas, my Wife showed me a video about a week ago of a bear somewhere standing up and moving wind chimes just over his head, over and over, like he liked it.

Taking tomorrow off. Going to look at some land, really a good deal, but more than I am comfortable spending right now.
Agent said 1 offer already so I might be too late anyways. Some restrictions, some outdated, like no man made Stone, has to be real stone. No bare concrete walls.

Land prices are skyrocketing also.

Spent evening catching up on quicken entering. Somewhere in my restructuring my balances got off on a couple accounts.

My long lost check to kubota finally cleared. Had to pay a late fee because of it, now I’m a few months ahead.

Work situation getting dicey, rumors of layoffs due to slow work.
