Good evening all. 30ºF for the start, overcast, light breeze. Light wind day, remained overcast with intermittent sprinkles, and high temp was 40ºF. Cleaned ashes and restoke the insert. to start day. Normally a group ride day but because of rain and low temps opted not to ride. Tomorrow looks much better. Did get chainsaw out and finished the two limbs that had fallen and worked on woodpile. Need to finish chainsaw work and properly stack the wood I cut today. Did get nap in.

Sorry to hear of the loss of you friend mate. Terrible thing to happen with no apparent cause.

Here is the reason we have lost power. Taken from my drone this a.m. Crews are unable to gain access due to flooding. More very heavy downfalls expected. Very odd weather for here.

good morning, low temp 24 and going down to 21°F. Wind W 13 mph. 30% chance of flurries.
I will go out at 9 and scrape the 4" we got overnight and then probably off to Huntsville yet again. DIL went there by ambulance yesterday, they think she has newmonia. She is going to try and con them into an ambulance ride home, too. If she does, then it makes it easier on my wallet. $1.699/L ($6.42/USgallon) for regular. I'm am trying to conserve fuel and electricity and she is trying to waste it.
She sleeps at the kitchen table with the lights on all night. I should put that switch on a motion sensor.

Enough of my biitching.

Take care with your wet problem Alien.

Have a safe day all

good Sunday morning all
28 going up to 48, nice sunny day

prayers sent for the Ukranian people. They sure need them.

off to church, then might get a car wash on way home

ran speedtest, 237 down, 5.9 up. Comcast promised 10 up recently, likely as defensive move to Verizon Fios, currently being installed all over.
They seem happy to give you more download, but why so stingy on upload? I'm sure it's bandwidth and follow the money.

Good morning.
It’s 23 out and probably won’t get above freezing. Sky is clear and forecast to stay that way.

Yesterday wasn’t particularly busy, spent some time with the recording from Friday bight. It wasn’t a recording session, but because it is setup to record, I usually capture everything that happens.

Today started with Emily waking me up to let her out at 3:30 am. No fun, but better than the alternative.
I’ve got to go to Martha’s Vineyard to pickup a longtime client. They just built a new house there and invited us to come see it. So it should be a fun day. I’m sure that it will be stunning, it’s right on the water.
They are very nice people, I always look forward to taking them places.

I'm not much of a vodka drinker, although I do enjoy the occasional Moscow Mule (vodka, ginger beer, lime juice...yummy!). But vodka can be replaced by Jameson (Irish Mule), or bourbon (Kentucky Mule)
Sununu is a good man...

Good morning! 17 now, maybe 44 later. Very sunny and “supposed” to that way all day.

Had a visit from a friend yesterday. He hasn’t been out for a while due to the weather. He brought the mortal remains of a Bultaco in his trunk and gave them to me. He got them for free. I paid the same. Seems it is actually a somewhat rare model, less than 800 were built in both displacements. Most were raced to death. Oddly, between the 2 of us, we have most of the rare pieces needed to rebuild it. He then decided he would take it back and get it sand blasted. So a retirement project.

Then split a trailer load of wood. This has been sitting for a while, couldn’t get to the trailer due to snow/ice. Now time for a refill. I have my own trees down to cut, but they are gonna be rough to get to. Have to see if the farm has another pile of wood to haul away.

Not sure what today will bring, I am sure I will find something.

Condolences for your friend Pop

Everyone stay safe out there!

I just don’t like vodka. Unless it is mixed with something.

Used to be a real challenge dealing with vodka during business dinners in Germany, Finland, Russia, and Kazakhstan. You don’t want to insult your hosts by not drinking it, but I didn’t want to sit there and pound shots with them of something I couldn’t stand. So I sipped it.

At least the Turks were understanding about their raki. That is a very acquired taste. Maybe drinking Efes Dark or wine from a well known Turkish vineyard gave me a pass.

Oddly in Greece, none of the people I worked with drank ouzo. None of them liked it at all. But a number of people at the power company I worked with liked their homemade tsipouro. Turns out I did too. When we were done at a facility, if they were happy with the way things went, out came the tsipouro. I sampled a lot of homemade tsipouro! Fortunately, our dealer service manager who did most of the driving, didn’t like it.

So you won’t be running web servers on residential rates. 95% of your usage should be download.

Was 37 going to 60. Sun peeking out.

Was pricing out a jug of 41% Gly (2.5 gal)...yikes...$130 at TSC, vs. about $30-35 last time I bought it. Glad I don't use much, and have some left over. Fertilizer 10-10-10 was also up a lot. Farmers will be hurting.

Glad Emily is doing okay...nice photo.

BEF, I hope your dad got his power back a while ago...just thought about him. You might want to hold onto that old oil...may be valuable soon. ;)

RNG, did you choose boots, yet?

1000, 27 Feb 2022,
Just checked Weather Underground...an hour or so ago, the forecast was for an inch or so or new snow...now (as of a minute ago), it's 3-5 inches. Reckon I'll be giving to new EGO machine some work this afternoon...if the forecast holds.
You ready for this, Thomas?

In the early seventies when I was living in California I had a good friend in the Navy. One day I had a heck of a hangover, he told me to take a shot of Ouzo and it would cure it. I tried it ad sure enough, within a few minutes I felt much better. Not sure if the Ouzo cured it or just gave me a buzz so I didn’t notice.

Good morning to all! Low of 18°, heading up to 50°, sunny. Tomorrow is supposed to be be the start of warmer temps slowly getting into the 60's.

Alien, looks like substantial amount of damage just in a small area. Is it that bad across a large area? Hopefully they can get your power back on soon!

I, too, only like vodka if mixed. It's been years since having some (10-15 yrs) so maybe tastebuds have changed. Not going to try any soon that I know of...

No notifications from Starlink here.... but, we are also much further south. You guys in Tx. will be waiting for a while....

We have a company here that provides excellent speeds at a very affordable price. They are finally expanding to our area. Most of the main fiber-optics are installed (up to about 1/2 mile away). They initially said we would have availability to hook up by last Sept., but have reported 'delays' , pushing it to "summer of 2022". I really can't wait.... our current internet speeds are around 8 down, 3-4 up if lucky. That doesn't include the intermittent 'blips' of no service.

Gonna get all the hairs cut today, then trim up the facial ones too!
What they say about looking like your dog (or vice / versa).... I currently look like our schnauzer.....

Going to try for some shop time today, even if it's just a short time.
Everyone have a great day!

The Ouzo we get in the US is not the same as sold in Greece...
I remember the Saratoga anchored off Corfu...and that town/island was not prepared for an aircraft carrier crew drinking ouzo for the first time...as expected, the crew got rowdy. IIRC, we were restricted to the ship after the first liberty call

Morning all, 25 going up to 47 and sunny.
May get to drop some trees today. See if wind slows down.

Sons team at Drumline took 7th, there were probably 40 or so groups.

Some tough competition from the other teams we watched.
Really proud of them as this was their first competition ever.
Helped load the trucks at school to performance and then after performance.
Lots of teamwork with parents too.

David - sorry to hear about friend, but hopefully this will keep him ticking for a long time now.
I not only noticed paint prices have increased, I noticed selection is horrible too.

Paul-read about the plane crash and saw who it was, sad news for sure. But yes I waited for your TBN update anxiously. They were able to miss the houses on the way down. RIP and prayers for their families.

Drew-yes that is on 202- he started with the dinosaurs about 3 years ago, a few more pop up every few months!
Alien-happy you are using drone vs. trying to drive through again. Hope you get power back soon.

I mostly buy polish potato vodka-have had friends bring me Ukrainian vodka (the good stuff)

Rich - Ouzo ok, Raki is more to my liking- when a non-local asks for a Raki- the big glass comes out and full. Ask me how I know! I'm sure that has happened to you. I can usually keep up with the locals, if wife around to drive me home or can walk  Tsipouro too much like grappa for me though. Maybe I just did not have a good one(or two).

I have part Ukrainian and the rest other east European- Maybe why I can drink Vodka - though like it cold.
Not buying gas from lukoil-never did, but won't now

For hangovers we used to use the o2 on the planes-seemed to help a lot-have had hangovers from Ouzo when invited out to drink it, even mixed with water.

Stay safe and be well,
