66°F and no rain.

Painting went well yesterday. 2 costs on the 4x6s. Todays task is to turn that lumber into a small roof about 6x8 over the bedroom door.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Just put an end to 2 scams posted in the 'for sale' section, both from the same guy....
One was a JD 2305 tractor.... first in Phoenix, then in NM, now it's in SC. "Free shipping anywhere" "Just send deposit" the first clues to a scam.

Same for a woodmax chipper..... "just send a deposit" " I'll ship it out tomorrow" .... yeah right.

I was able to string him along for a bit.... then told him he had to get better at how he presented his scam. Too many 'red flags'. He kinda got a little pushy, especially after I offered to pay him the full asking price plus the shipping cost. He didn't want to ship them to a freight terminal....

I did report the posts, but they were already taken down within minutes thereafter.

22°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 45° today ... though it's 46° now. Close enough, I guess. Ice/sleet is melting on the deck, so I need to get out there and do a little shoveling.

Took care of the chickens this morning, then made a run to TSC in Carlyle for feed. Wife had some errands to run, so I started laundry, then started some rearranging in the studio to make room for the new speaker cabinet. Too much stuff in there during this transitional period. Really need to sell some of the stuff I don't use. Like guns, though, music equipment is hard to part with.

Mostly_, I've only ever seen a hurdy gurdy once. It was in an acoustic instrument music store, was about 350 years old, and was locked in a display case. I didn't even ask.

Glad you're back, Don.

We kinda figured you were out floating around Don. Hope you had a wonderful time.

I was about to leave church when one of my best friends said he was staying to install new microphones.
So of course I had to help him because two hands are really helpful when someone is up on the ladder.

We had to run microphone cable across the room and need to solder ends on the cable.
We did one, that went well, then did the second and I asked are you sure you have those on the right ends?
you bet.
ok
fail
continuity tester showed pins lining up with wrong wires.
Sigh.
take it all apart and solder it back together, making sure we didn't set the bench cushions on fire.

Now my friend is super mechanical so I deferred to him, but we had a few laughs when he reminded me
I had asked him if it was right. And we both looked at each other and laughed saying we were being paid
the appropriate sum... I left four hours later when the one microphone was proved out. Seemed to have a little more gain
than the others already installed. My friend stayed to work a little longer but I said I could help next week but I've been going a long time today.

Buckeye, makes sense about the speeds. 5gig up means four or five seconds upload time at most, most email servers won't take more than 25-30 gig at a time anyway.

world's largest aircraft a victim in Ukraine. It's world famous, what an additional crime

Snowing pretty steady now...1-3 inches predicted...won't be surprised if we see more.
Snow squall warnings...glad I'm not driving tonight...2nd or 3rd warning on my cell phone. Stepdaughter went to Concord NH and then Cape Cod. I kind of hope she stays with her friends in Concord tonight.

Played around a bit with the new snow blower. Low speed works great...the two higher speeds are probably not going to be used much, if at all. If I was going to use this machine for the entire drive (and I could walk faster), the higher speed ranges would be great, but I have a tractor for the drive.
Altogether, the EGO 24" self-propelled snow blower is a great tool for our use

Just added...opened the front door and got a blast of wind and snow. Can't see more then 100 yards, if that. Glad I'm not on the road tonight!!

Well, you can blame Putin for that...this invasion has no purpose other than satiating Putin's ego...
And I thought he was smarter than that...guess I was wrong...

That's a shame that the aircraft was destroyed / damaged. I hope the Ukrainian people can withstand this fight.

On a lighter note, wifey is very happy.... her hassock storage is complete. It wasn't as difficult as I thought it was going to be.... took only a couple hours, but that time was broken up by 3 breaks, essentially taking me all afternoon. That's ok, it was good to get out into the shop.

Then finished off the steak leftovers. The meal was just as good as last night. Now I just need to find something for dessert......

Time to go relax and elevate the knee.

Plowing done and daughter in law picked up at hospital.
yet again she didn't wait for the Dr., but she had been there since last evening.
Not really a vodka drinker any more. I used to be, but lost my taste for it after one too many hangovers. Ouzo, Drambuie, Kahlua or Bailys Irish cream, those are my choices.
Off to North Bay tomorrow for the monthly shopping trip. Leave here at 8:30 and should be back by 2:30.
It is a shame the Ant. 225 got destroyed thanks to Putin.

43°
Had a younger recently married couple over after worship. Wife made a great lunch, roast and veggies in crock pot, corn casserole, homemade bread & jam, and fudge iced chocolate cake for dessert.
After they left, I bagged more of the shed junk. Really testing the trash guys this week. Got 4 bags outside the full trash can. I see it as makeup for the weeks I barely have any to put out, or even skip a week, they might view it different.

Where does the weekend go.

Welcome back Don.

We kinda figured you were out floating around Don. Hope you had a wonderful time.
Everything went through without a hitch.
Finally the ship has a vegan menu option every day in the main dining room. They started the menu change in August.
Face mask only had to be worn while walking indoors.
This week, new rules, they are making face mask optional.
Before boarding had to have a negative covid test within 48 hours and proof of being fully vaccinated. (Safer than a grocery store.)
2 weeks ago they had 900 guest, our cruise 2,200 guest out of space for 3,600 guest, next week the ship is expected to be even closer to full.
I tried to find out if there were any cases reported but the employees are not told till after the cruise. All staff is double masked all the time, except when preforming on stage or ice.
The ice skating show had skaters together from Japan, Canada, Russia and Ukraine.

Didn't get as much snow as I thought we would...hard to tell though, the way the wind was gusting.
Margeaux was barking at the front door, so I opened it and, WOW!! That wind was stiff, and I got a face full of snow!
I had texted stepdaughter and suggested she stay where she's at due to the snow squalls...guess she took my advice since her car isn't outside

7° right now...wind's still whipping around, but nothing like late afternoon into the evening yesterday.
High in the low 20's today.
I was planning on going to work today (was up at 0300 to get breakfast, coffee, showered and shaved) but since stepdaughter isn't home, I guess I'll have the duty today. Well, if there's a silver lining to this, I won't be spending a couple hundred bucks a week on fuel (was $3.59 for regular on Saturday...I expect it'll be more today and before it's all said and done, I think we'll looking at $4-$5 a gallon. That's a killer...

29 going to 49.

Don, welcome home. Glad the trip was good. Where'd you go this time?

Roy, glad that new snowblower is working well for you. Too bad they don't make one that blows leaves in Autumn, snow in winter, and cooling air in summer. Maybe I'll get to work on that tomorrow.

Repaired a pallet, split more wood and stacked...watched the birds and chipmunks. Nice day.
