good morning all
31 going up to 36 today in fair weather.
friends in Ft Myer told me about five tornadoes that touched down nearby from that last storm, some good youtube video on that.

I need to do laundry and finish packing today. I see snow expected for Thursday morning, hope my ride to train doesn't chicken out.

finished prep to my big zoom meeting Wed night. About 70 invites going out, no idea how many will attend, first time I've been a moderator
on zoom managing the little yellow hands raised, etc. Now to try to stay within allotted times. Once that is done, I will be happy to get out of town on Thursday.

My neck is doing better. Still using a soft collar occasionally but was able to avoid pain pills and just use arthritis meds. Took a while but it eased off.

Hope you all have a good day.

Kyle_in_Tex said, "Sometimes, I have to remind myself to put my solipsism on the shelf. My wife reminds me plenty too."

OK, I don't recall ever hearing of that word "solipsism" before, so I had to look it up to see what it meant.:ROFLMAO:

First cup of coffee has been poured. 24° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 34° with cloudy skies. Took me a few hours to warm up from the burn pile move. It was a good day for that type of project. But glad it is done. Going to stay in today. Give Sassy a bath and other house projects. Scan some more photos.
Squirrels have figured out how to get into open feeder.

Kyle, my neighbor did take 4 slabs off one of the logs last year. Made end table for his patio. Other end of log had lots of rot and carpenter ant damage.

Don, nice trail pictures.

PJ, sorry about friend passing. Great Obit.

RNG, hope new rotors and calipers fix your truck brake problems.

Everyone stay healthy and safe.

Good Morning All.

Roy, I'll bet the driveway is under the snow, somewhere. 🤣
If you don't put sand/salt mix down then if you run on the lawn a bit, it shouldn't matter.
As for tobacco and papers, I have papers here but they are for another purpose. I get my tailor made smokes by the carton and am 9 cartons ahead of myself. 200 smokes in a carton.
Yeah, I'll find most of it...first year or two we lived here, I didn't use driveway markers so snow blowing part of the lawn won't be a first. We only salt the walks and right in front of the garage doors...regular ice melt salt in front of the garage and pet safe on the walks.

Other then rare occasions, I haven't purchased cigarettes in 10 years or more...as far as the "other purpose", probably not in 25 years (if the "other purpose" is what I think it is).

I actually prefer to clear snow when it's dark and I'd start now, but our new puppy barks at anything in the drive and I don't want her barking to wake up the women in the household

Couple pics from yesterday

If you look upper center, you'll see a street sign on two upright posts. That post is about 10' this side of the end of our front lawn

Good morning

24° now high around 32°, NW winds 15 to 20 with gusts to 40 mostly sunny.

Yesterday’s 4” of snow/sleet/rain ended as 2” of slush. Fortunately temps went up to 40° and the sun came out. Pushed all the slop down the driveway and cleared a channel down the roadside for the run off. By late afternoon the paved part was dry. The gravel back driveway I just let the tractor tire tracks freeze up.

Off to get some grocery’s and then conserve energy for the rest of the day.

Prayers for those who have lost friends and family and are dealing with illness.

Morning all! 17 going to only 21 today.
We got about 8 inches of snow before the rains came pouring down. I tried to get it cleaned up before that as it was already to heavy to shovel! Thank god I have a cab! At the apartment house the walk behind blower just clogged and clogged. Luckily the riding mower blower blew it all out like a champ. I think it could pump water if I needed it to. Forecast was for freezing temps overnight so I got everything cleaned as best as possible. Looking out the window this morning the driveway seems ok. Will throw some sand on it later as we have a repairman coming to look at our new oven that won't go to correct temperature.
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

27 going to 44. Plenty of snow/ice on ground, but think much will melt today.

Don, congrats on that nice trail hike...knee work is paying rewards.

Roy, looks like you need a snow blower just to get to your tractor snow blower. :D Real pretty.

Roasted coffee yesterday and paid bills. Hope to split firewood today, and maybe a hike.

32° with high of 36°. Maybe 40s tomorrow before the cold comes in again. High 25° Friday, low in low teens.

Calling for 1” snow Thursday morning, some more inches coming this weekend.

Old 9 yo computer ran better after last update to latest win10. Removed a bunch of programs also. It’s an I7 with decent memory, but when windows wants to update, it seems they purposely make them crawl to force the update. Only 1 USB port works on it, which is why I got new computer.

Had one of neighbor cats in playing with our new cat, they had fun. Our old cat even came around to check them out, and let them both know he is boss.

Didn’t go anywhere yesterday, never started a vehicle nor tractor. I didn’t even step outside, wind was brutal cold. Hope roads ok.

32 outside this AM. Refreeze on top of everything that was left over from the storm this weekend.

Throttling back on everything personal this weekend and will keep doing so for the foreseeable future. Boss called and wants more hours to cover recent retirees. Will oblige.

Hope all have a great day. And a good start to the work week. Be safe.

Morning all, 32 and not too bad out. Got icy/snowy last night, but very windy.
Wind dried out the ice patches. So nothing for me to do.

Stay safe and be well,

Good Morning!!!! 46F @ 4:30AM. Sun and clouds mixed. High near 60F. Winds light and variable.
Still no rain in the 10-day, another broken record forecast.

OK, Kyle, here's proof solipsism is a false belief. Otherwise, you wouldn't be reading all of our comments here on TBN.
"In a solipsistic position, a person only believes their mind or self is sure to exist. This is part of self-existence theory or the view of the self. Solipsism as a belief is about the self perceiving the world as what the self believes the world is."

Makes you wonder what those monuments looked like in ancient times, doesn't it, Ken?

In addition to getting the new chainsaw sprocket on order yesterday, I talked to a tech at Summit Hydraulics about the malfunctioning quick coupler, and he offered to send me a new one, free. That's good service, especially since it was 18 months after the sale.

Replacement of the brake pads and rotors went pretty much as expected yesterday. Truck parts are a LOT heavier than motorcycle parts, though, and I'm sore this morning as a result. Started in on the rears on one side, and discovered that the hub and axle have to come out to get at the parking brake shoes. That requires a special tool, which I can borrow from the local auto parts store, where I'll buy new seals when I pick up the tool. The new calipers haven't come in anyway, so I'm putting the job on hold until next week after I get back.

Not sure what's on the agenda for today, but there's plenty to choose from.

When I saw what had to come off to change brakes on my 2500HD, I took it up the road to a shop and had them do it.

When I saw shipping prices at rock auto, decided I’ll stop at NAPA for new pads for Subaru.

Good Morning
It’s already at todays high of 32. No precipitation predicted for today.

Yesterday I stayed busy, made myself pancakes for breakfast, then went out on the tractor and pushed about 1-1/2” of slush off of the driveway. Turned out to be a good plan, as it was dry before temps dropped below freezing in most spots. Cranked out a new document for the FAA, not saying that it was a sisyphean task, but it was about how we deal with “ non essential furnishings” that might be worn or non functional. Can’t wait for the findings on this one. Shop air compressor died, so after some online research, I went to tractor supply to check out the major contender in person. It’s a 60 gallon vertical tank unit that makes 11cfm. I looked around for Makita sprockets online, ended up ordering some from e-replacement parts. They were back ordered, but I’m not in a hurry, just being prepared.

Today will likely start with breakfast with my retired attorney/ history professor friend. Then a trip to Tractor Supply to pick up the compressor, and bring it back and install it.
UPS says the plasma cutter is coming today as well, so it will be like Christmas in the shop. Might even run some new air lines. I’m thinking about using PEX, even though it’s not an approved use. Any thoughts from the collected wisdom about that?

34 earlier, 31 now and still windy. It looks like we are in the path of this weekend’s storm. Forecasts are from 1”-12”, temps 12-35 and possibly just partly cloudy.

Headed to the hospital in a few minutes for my cancer surgery, I hope it’s not too late getting finished, I’m starving now. I don’t like general anesthesia, never had a problem with it, just don’t like it.

Have a good day guys.
