Did you hike up from bottom to dark hollow falls? I’ve got pictures from one of the bridges below it.
I Copy pics to portable usb drive, I never move to usb thumb drives. My old laptop still has copies of all, except for new ones. I keep at least 3 copies of pics.
I need to get TurboTax while Costco has discount on it.
One lot I looked at online is near old rag.

29°f and clear skies with some light fog, going up to 45° today. That weather is supposed to arrive here mid-evening as rain, then change over to snow around midnight. They are sticking with the 3-6" forecast so far. Sounds like we are to be on the lower end of that.

I'd love to push some moisture your way, Ted, but there's still no rain in the 10-day.
I've heard of people that make brushes for old tools by sanding down bigger ones to fit, Paul. But there's no arguing with the convenience of a cordless tool.
The best decaf coffee I've ever had was served by a Swiss hotel in St. Moritz, Drew. When I tried to ask our waitress about it, she didn't understand the question because it turned out she wasn't Swiss and didn't speak English well enough to understand "decaffeinated".
A friend of mine came down with something more than a cold after the New Years trip. She didn't have Covid symptoms, and never got tested for it, either, but the symptoms, especially the cough, were very flu like. She's had two Covid shots, but no booster, so the regular flu is still out there, and people are still passing it around. That's three out of the four of us that shared the weekend that came down with something. So far, all I got out of it was a scratchy throat for a couple days, but then for Covid I've been twice vaccinated, then boosted, and had the flu shot as well.

Fueled up the truck yesterday and spent the most ever: $175 for 38 gallons. The tank is only supposed to hold 38 gallons, so I was lucky I stopped when I did or I'd have been walking. At $4.60/gallon it adds up fast, but at least you can buy all you want.
Had to get a blood draw yesterday, but the first place I went to was short staffed and suggested another location not far away. Easier parking, no line, and I didn't feel a thing. No time for breakfast before allergist appointment, and had an icthy eye after the shots. Allergist said it might be because almost a month had elapsed since the last one. Over the next hour, eyelid swelled almost shut. Made driving "fun". Got the rest of the errands run, and on leaving last parking spot, brake pedal went all the way to the floor. Checked the master cylinder, and the reservoir was still full, and there was still a little brake left, but not much. Babied it home, with lots of low gear engine braking down the hills. Still no sign at FedEx for the brake parts, though, but that truck's not going anywhere for a while. No breakfast or lunch yesterday, but the chili for dinner was almost good enough to make up for it.
Brought home a copy of TurboTax on a CD, but it wouldn't run on my main laptop because the OS is too old. Had to jump through some hoops to get it installed on a newer laptop, with a newer OS, still not the latest and greatest but it'll do. It's just getting harder and harder to avoid internet based applications, which was Intuit's recommendation for how to solve the problem. Guess they've never used satellite internet...
Not sure what's on the dance card today, but I should probably try to figure out what's going on with the van so I can get groceries next week.

RNG, forgot to answer your question...yes, your method of taking down a hung tree is best...I wasn't equipped since I was mostly clearing fallen snow damage, so took a non-approved short cut...one of those, "hold my beer" methods.
BEF, I hiked from Fishers Gap down to that bridge, then up to Dark Hollow, then down to the Rose River and back up on a different trail to Fishers. Saw only 1 other vehicle on the Skyline Drive during the 30 minute trip from Swift Run to the parking lot at Fishers Gap.

Not sure what's on your dance card, either, but I'd recommend you try to learn the one that was in the paper today...a young TikTok "star" made $17.5 Million last year, started out dancing...her sister also made $10MM.Not sure what's on the dance card today, but I should probably try to figure out what's going on with the van so I can get groceries next week.

I've bought the CD every year so long I can't even remember when I started. Anyway, I usually get it at Sam's Club, and it just seems to take longer each year for it to install on my computer. But I'm ready now, as soon as I get the things I need in the mail.

I’ve done dark hollow trailhead, down to rose river fire road, up to fisher gap, then AT back to trailhead.
Didn’t know about cemetery along the route, must have missed it.

First thing TurboTax does after installing from CD is to download the updates. I think CD is very basic copy.

Costco's Mac Turbo Tax download said that my current OS system (2019 Catalina) is outdated and next year I will have to update to "Big Sur" for Turbo Tax to work.
Egore was kept at bay today as I pushed out a 122˚ knee flex. Yea!!! I did not tell him the Dr. said because of my "skinny" knees my new goal is 128˚.
Wngsprd it would be nice to compete in a triathlon again but I settle for a 5 mile hike this spring when the new park opens that we have been working in.
