The Nokians are only $268.72/tire. Michelins are $280.95/tire at Kal Tire up here.
I will suffer with what I have for the rest of this winter, next summer I will look for a set of Michelins x-ice tires. They do come in 19" rim.

Michelin X-Ice — now THAT’s a snow tire!

34° right now and raining. High in the low 50's (!!!!) and rain most of the day...wind advisory today too

If not raining too hard, I'll get the rest of the driveway markers in.

Good morning, low temp 22 and high to 41°F. Wind ESE 21 mph.
They are talking 8-10" so far and changing to rain. There are 4" on the deck rail, so I know what I am doing this morning. IF I leave it then the rain will turn the driveway into a sloppy mess. If I plow it then the mess will be less, but when the temperature nosedives the driveway will turn into a rutted frozen nightmare to navigate. I will plow anyway.
Furnace oil truck is due here today, so I gotta plow for him, only because I told them the driveway would be plowed. The good thing is that I am not out of oil and if he doesn't come today then I can wait until next week.

That is my day mapped out for me.

Have a safe day all

Drinking first cup of coffee. 41° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 25° with some serious winds for this area. .51" Yesterday's conserve energy day went very well. Need to get some bird seed moved from garage to barn where it is stored. No other plans today. Been dealing with my Aunts daughter trying to be a control freak with me. Lots of stress. Put a end to it yesterday. My poor Aunt is the one that loses. Other Aunt say my cousin is jealous of how well I get along with my Aunt.
Downy Woodpecker.

Gary, great looking flags. I been looking to put up a flag on west end of my barn. Great idea making out of pallet boards. Mine will probably be a USA flag.

Roy, now all I can think about is Blue Bayous. :sneaky:

Everyone stay healthy and safe.

Good Morning All.

good morning all
warmer 43 out going up to low sixties today, some rain tonight, and colder weather tomorrow.

I hope to pick up that snowblower battery today, hope just looking at it gives me inspiration to figure out where it fits.
Popgadget offered to come help me if I'm still stumped but I'm determined to trace wires and find it.
Also going to go drive those two older sedans I chatted about, might add to the fleet today.

At age 70 my family sold 99% of what I own, thinking I was not coming out of hospital. (A life lesson for all of us...always have a Plan B)
So now I am starting all over again and yes
there are things I need to buy. I think the loss of my tools has been the worst. Trying to adjust to a 900sf cottage after a 24 acre farm with a big house
has been interesting. But successful folks make the best of what they have and I'm rolling with things.

every day is a gift, let's make the most of it.

Ron, good luck turning your aunt's daughter's concerns into something positive.

Gary, great flags. Looks like a lot of fun, like my birdfeeders. The Peace/Gay Pride/rainbow coalition one would sell out around here.
And of course the Phillies.
if you ever start making them commercially, let us know.

45 going to 73 and windy.

Toppop...that's a lot of fluid. You really did have to go through a lot. Hope your new skin repairs are improving.

Wife and I hiked to Lewis Springs Falls yesterday. We had planned to stop at a nice restaurant on the way homd, but agreed we were too tired to enjoy it.

Here are the small falls, diminished by lack of rain, and the springs, locked, but a pipe comes out just behind me where hikers on the Appalachian Trail have access to flowing water without having to hike any extra distance.View attachment 723805

48 outside, heading to 70 today. Yes, your read that right.

Cloudy, horse care and fence lines are the orders of the day while we move the herds to winter pastures. LOL. That means removing t-posts and letting them on to greener pastures. No round up, move 'em out, cowboy stuff. More like suburban man meets big fields.

Weekend went well, xMas party was a blast. Awesome food. Met quite a lot of future business, if we need it.

Kids all back where they should be, one drove almost 15 hours straight to get back to "home". Not sure if she is going to stay there, or move elsewhere. Still talks about being really out west. Hey, whatever makes them happy.

Time to get back to work on the firewood stacks. I just saw a flurry prediction for Wednesday. The weather is swinging back and forth from warm to cold more so than my body is able to keep up. LOL.

Hope all have a great start to the work week. Be safe.

Ron, control freaks can only think of “me”, which I guess is from jealousy. We go thru that with a certain relative, it’s very stressful cause you never know when an incident might happen.

Good morning! 64˚F. A cold front will be here in an hour keeping the temps in the 50s all day with a chance of rain at 7am.
Gray2 is doing poorly and is getting lots of loving attention.
Store run and a garden run. The 3 different kales, broccoli (lower left), and cilantro (top of garden) have had a growing spurt.
Only about half of the beets sprouted (far right along the irrigation hose) but the seeds were over a year old.

From the coach and on the deck, this mornings sun rise didn’t disappoint. Thank you to whoever is responsible for this blessing. The best part of the day for sure but I’m careful not to let the day go down hill by turning on the boob tube and watching what they call news.

Good Morning. 44F @ 4:30AM. Overcast. High near 50F. Winds light and variable.
We may get a shower or two overnight tonight, and another Thursday. Starting Sunday, though, there's rain in the forecast every day through Wednesday. And cooler, more wintry temperatures. It's about time!

FWIW, Drew, I found this 7.2V battery for "select Ariens EFI snowblowers". Not sure it's the one you need or not, but at least one reviewer is also complaining that it seems to be unavailable. I also found that the Ariens website has parts diagrams for their snowblowers. This page has a form where you can insert the serial number from your blower and it'll bring up the parts diagrams for it. Then you can search for battery, and it should bring up a diagram for the battery. And that might give you a clue as to where it's located. Happy hunting. Same on the cars. They're a little big to fit under your Christmas tree, though... 😄 Could'a used a shop vac or a piece of duct tape to snag that apple...

The Holidaze seem to bring out the worst in family drama. Hope everyone makes it through to the new year without too much of it. I have a friend who's sister has advanced pancreatic cancer, and she's not doing well. The family is divided on the treatment choices being made, which is hard on my friend. Seems like the winter weather makes such situations even worse, and not just for the patients, either.

Very colorful flags, Gary. I hope you're better at disassembling pallets than I've been. I end up breaking or splitting most of the boards before they come off. Hope you can get going again on the tractor project once the new year gets started.

Wrote a big check for property taxes yesterday, and it was only the first of two installments. Still, I'm lucky I have a property on which I have to pay taxes. I could be living out of a car or trailer like so many other fire victims are still doing.

I listened to my only PFM album yesterday, Paul, "The World Became The World". Definitely a progressive sound with synthesizers, electric guitars, etc., but the operatic singing was pretty odd. I was kinda glad the album was over after only four very long tracks. Definitely an ear worm free experience.

Got a good start on the bag brackets yesterday. Lots of cutting/welding/fitting, and even some redoing. Maybe half way done on one side. Then I'll need to make a mirror image of it for the other side, but it should be easier the second time around. Since the sun was out, the inverters were going full blast and helping take the chill off the garage. I might have to fire up the propane header on this cloudy day.

Hope everyone's week gets off to a great start!
