Good morning!!!!

Good morning! 31 now, maybe 41 later. The “S” word is still in the forecast, maps not really showing around here for today.

I just see the shortages getting worse PG. it is ugly and widespread. Not really sure how it got this bad this fast.

Took a half day of vacation yesterday to get some things done at home. I had managed to find 2 tarps this week the size I needed to finish covering the wood pile. Yes, the ubiquitous plastic tarps are about extinct around here. As are bungee straps. But the wood pile is covered and ready for winter.

Did some stuff in the garage, including cleaning more parts in my new ultrasonic cleaner. It showed up this week and had already run one batch of parts through it. Not sure why I didn’t get one sooner.

Not sure what I will get into today.

Everyone stay safe out there!

Morning all, partly sunny.

Off to glass blowing, maybe will get some pictures with the birthday girl, hope not using a torch on me :)

Neighbor is making us a new mailbox assembly, can't wait to see how it looks.

Stay safe and feel well,

33°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 43° today.

Too windy here to burn anything today, so I'll have to find something else to occupy my day. Shouldn't be too difficult, as it's a target-rich environment.

Wife is going to be in Granite City most of the day. The hospital called in hospice for her father yesterday. He had been showing some improvement, but took a big downhill slide this week. He wants to go home, but his house will be too difficult to get him around in, so he's being moved this morning to his sister's house, which is larger and roomier and all one level. We'd started making room for him here, but the rest of the family is in Granite, and didn't like the idea of the 45 minute drive out here. He was supposed to be moved yesterday afternoon, and The Wife spent most of the evening at the hospital. However, the ambulance service was apparently too busy on a Friday evening, and kept rescheduling it later and later, until they finally gave up and said they'd do it today instead.

The wheel of life continues to turn, with no regard for the wishes of man.

Tough situation, Paul. When they were still made in St. Louis, we used Eminence drivers in about 95% of the Ampeg and Crate speaker cabinets. No idea if that's still the case today, but I imagine they are probably OEM for a lot of builders. Sorry to hear that they're struggling with supply chain as well.

Good morning to all! Low of only 38, going up to mid 60's. No precipitation is in the 10 day forecast, probably longer.

The week has been uneventful, didn't really do much at all. Filed a bunch of paperwork and sent out more paperwork....

RNG, it's been a few years, but I think I figured out your screen name.....
Random number generator.....(RNG)... having your electronic background and all! ;) Enjoy the camping trip.

Sounds like everyone is getting by ok, doing all the routine stuff. Keep up all the good work!

David, the studio is looking great! Sorry to hear you struck out getting the countertops. When we were building our cottage, the linear footage wouldn't work out, having 3-4' of 'scrap' countertop. I ended up spending time to make my own butcher block wood tops. I already had the materials, so it was really just my time to make them. Do you have any of the laminate floor leftover? There are some videos on YouTube about using laminate for CT's.
Visiting Arizona? What part? I'll wave to you....👋

I am trying to get motivated to dig out the Thanksgiving decorations. Probably get the Christmas deco out too, or at least put them in an accessible spot. I guess I need to make sure the wifey is happy..... so that will become the priority agenda for today.

I have been able to tinker with some of the R/C planes and stuff, maybe I'll find some extra time later.....
I was able to swing by a hobby shop in town this past week and get some needed supplies. Things have sure changed.... there used to be 3-4 shops in town..... now there is only one. They have a captive customer base and they know it.
Bad attitudes, high prices, and limited to only a few brands. I won't be frequenting them too often. Online ordering is too easy.....

Everyone have a great weekend!

Popgadget, that reminds me that I need to adjust the ground speed governor on my EZGo TXT, throttle is very sluggish.

67 headed to 52 in the next couple of hours. Wind is supposed to gust over 40 later. Fall happens then it’s winter.

Donated a bunch of toys and collectibles to one of the local shelters. Some of it was my kids stuff, time for other kids that need it to enjoy it.

Ellen didn’t want to cook for Thanksgiving this year so we were going out. Then her daughter invited us to her house. Now I find out we are bringing green bean casserole and the #$&* Turkey! Not sure why she didn’t just invite them here where there’s a lot more room and I can watch football while they endlessly babble.

B25 Mitchell, Panchito has been flying tours out of the airport all morning, beautiful plane.

38F, damp, and cloudy @ 12:30, calling for a high of 43F. Also calling for the possibility of snow, starting around midnight and into tomorrow.

Got some more leaf blowing with the Cub and Stihl yesterday afternoon ... before winds got so strong that it was pretty much pointless. What's left on the trees is mostly oaks now and they always seem to take quite a while to come down.

Ran out one of the tanks on the Cub and flipped it over to the second tank, refilled the empty one with straight none-E gas. Still need to pick up some additive.

No more bulbs planted, but I did get a cage put around that volunteer apple tree after trimming it up a little. Also gathered up the Double Repeating Sparrow Trap and stand and brought that all down to the house. Got rid of trimmings over on the burn pile.

Located Grandpa's auger bit and extension up in the shop and brought it down to the house on the way back.

Got a few exploded parts diagrams printed out off of Kubota's website.

Made a big bowl of Cream of Mushroom soup to warm up when I came in, then made a batch of Tuna Helper for dinner.

Today's agenda will be to get hopper and the two sunflower tube feeders refilled. That will likely be it for outside (due to temps/wind), other than bringing in The Woman's two hibiscus and banana tree. Might attempt to bring in the old aquarium stand planter if I feel frisky.

Beyond that kitchen clean up and other housecleaning.

Starting to a feel a little more relaxed now that winter(ish) weather has arrived, and all those pressing outdoor activities and projects are mostly put on hold until spring.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ... (y)

Lol toppop, so much for not cooking.

It’s pretty easy to know why supply chain is in the crapper.

36° this morning. Was 44° when I sat down to catch up on TBN, now 47°

Having a seminar at church this weekend. Yesterday I went there early to get some work done. I had rebuilt one of the church laptops at home and got it all updated, took it there and it struggled to boot. I think hard drive is going bad as it did a c: rebuild when I had it here. Also the display is acting up, so I think it’s time to replace that one permanently . Same laptop I replaced earlier in year from projecting our songs on because it was having video problems.

I did pull a new Ethernet cable thru the floor conduit from sound room to front of building. Wasn’t sure how easy it would be since the pull string was probably wrapped around the 4 cables already in the conduit, but was pretty easy pull. Actually pulled a spare Ethernet cable at same time, since I pulled out the string.
Pipe comes out in front of building in crawl space under and around the baptistry. Then drilled hole up thru floor to get cable out where I needed it. Now I have a POE PTZ camera at the front of the auditorium.
Seminar is being live streamed and recorded, now with a crowd view option. Already caught one person asleep.

Didn’t get home last night till 10, then had a session this morning. It went well. Got 2 sessions tonight, and more tomorrow.

On way in this morning sun was almost out, I thought I might get leaves mowed this afternoon. Came out after morning session to rain and wind. Only .06” at home, but don’t want to mess with wet leaves. Now sun is peaking out again.

Did open the Eley hose reel box. Don’t seem like much there for the cost. Might start putting it together.

Wife got home yesterday from being at her mom’s for the week.

Time to get moving.

really strong wind gusts going through, power keeps flickering
they said up to 40-50 mph gusts this afternoon.

I got the truck washed though am likely to have to peel a few wet leaves off it. Lot of leaves and spinners blowing by my window.

I picked up a few nice small art objects today at craft fair, nothing on this table is over 15 bucks. Felt kind of bad that flower pot
was so cheap, that mural on side is really nicely done.

my close friend in DE sent me a pic of his carrots he just picked. Simply beautiful, edible garden art.

It’s pretty easy to know why supply chain is in the crapper.

Yup:

Worldwide pandemic + inherent design of the supply chains (offshoring and JIT apparently has some downsides ... who could have known ?) + people changing jobs and/or opting for retirement = labor force disruptions and/or reduced labor force.

Then throw in pent-up demand, the available resources ($$$) to satisfy it, and free time.

Definitely ain't rocket science ... ;)
