Drinking first cup of hot coffee. 54° with light rain this morning. Heading to 63° with some heavy rain in AM. Got grass mowed yesterday. Lowered mower another 1/2", Maybe that will stop it from growing. Grocery shopping was good. Found everything on list on shelves. No plans for today yet.

One thing I learned here, pay three times as much and get an Amish stick built shed delivered and all built ready to go.
Especially since you're right in Amish country!!
BTW, if you've never been, visit the Green Dragon outdoor market sometime. It's only open one day a week (used to be Tuesdays, IIRC) and it might be too late this year.
Fun walk around, and you can get some funnel cake!

My Amish built shed, which we call our pool house is assessed at over 50k!

I found out a while ago, that my assessors office was fond of a google maps like product. ArcGIS is what they use. They determine square footage by overhead pictures. So if something is reflecting a nice roof, like a lean to or run in, it gets caught and classified as a building.

I have 14 structures on my property. LOL.

David, that was a nice pic. I'd roast the hogs.

Good Morning.
It’s 50 with a high of 75 and fair skies for today.

I have to take a checkride every six months, some can be done in the sim, some have to be in an actual plane with an actual FAA inspector. As many of them as I have endured, I still don’t like them, but it’s the price I pay to do something that I still enjoy.

I’m still playing catch-up here, but speaker is gone, the need for mowing is slowing down, but I’ve got to get inside the small pastures and mow. Most of them I can get with the tractor and 8’ 3PT mower, but there’s a couple that are easier with the Lazer. So maybe I’ll get to work on them today. Also need to spread manure and mend a few fences. Since my wife retired, her medical coverage is going away, so we’re finishing the transition to Medicare today as well. So I won’t be bored today.

Here’s a sunset from over Connecticut looking over the sound at Long Island Tuesday evening on my way back from Concord.

It’s views like this that make it seem like fun rather than work. Packing a suitcase would make it seem like work, but I very rarely have to do that any more. And having help like this in the barn is even more reason to be home. I’m sure that he will be on the job mowing and spreading manure today.

Has there been enough run-off to raise the level of the lake?
The level of Lake Oroville has come up a foot since September 30 of this year, but we've only had a little more than 3/4" since then. The 10-day forecast is still calling for a hair more than 7" between now and next Tuesday, so there's hope. Unfortunately, more than 4" of that is forecasted to fall on Sunday, and chances are very good there will be flash floods in the fire scars left from last year and this. I might even see some erosion along the trench line up to the top of the hill.
