Good morning!!!!

55°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 64° today. Judging by the small puddles here and there, we apparently got a little rain overnight.

Mostly_, my first time driving into St. Charles, I accidentally too the Rock Road exit off I-270 instead of the I-70 exit, and almost immediately realized what I'd done. That was the only time I ever went across that bridge, and I had no desire to ever drive on it again. That was definitely a skinny bridge.

Nice pictures today, Gents.

I would have loved to have driven over it. I went across the Eads Bridge turned around and drove back just to do it.
There was an open grate bridge across the Cheat river near Morgantown I’ve been across, but has been replaced now.

My wife is the same way, a new wheel barrow is on her Christmas list.
My wife would not use anything with a gas engine on/in it. Except her car. Got her the electric golf cart and she used it all the time. It was my job to keep it charged and ready to use.

Kyle_in_Tex said, "We don't have many acorns this year yet, not sure why."

Sure wish I could say that. You'd sure be welcome to mine. The acorns may be a bit smaller than usual, but way, way too many of them.

66°F and 0 rain.

Could be another good day mowing. Hopefully get that Hilo end finished.

Need to made a PO run.

H&F this afternoon and I’m on the hook for spaghetti sauce with turkey meatballs and homemade garlic bread.

Got a text that my brother’s wife may be showing improvement.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Bill, did you run a lot of water through the pump before you started it up? Usually takes a while to get air out of line.
if you want one that you can totally rely upon, scan the Northern Tools catalog. Don't forget the little cans of antifreeze for your
power washer unless it never goes outside.
I had the hose pumping water into the pw before I tried to start it. after it stalled it was really hard to turn over again and impossible to start.

When mine does that, I hold the trigger down on the wand to relieve pressure on the pump output and it starts right up. Mine's probably fifteen or more years old, but it has a Honda engine, and so far at least, has been 100% reliable with virtually no maintenance and no special anything before it gets put away. But then it seldom gets below freezing out here, and it is stored in an enclosed trailer. Earlier this year I finally noticed it is a Generac.

Just piddling around the yard I found freeze damage from February splitting the bark on the trunk of my only live oak tree. The foliage looks healthy and I'm going to see if it self heals. Has anyone else seen damage like this and does the tree survive?

The fella that cleared this property wasn't very careful with his dozer, and knocked the bark off several trunks at least half way around. Most of them haven't suffered at all, but they sure look like the dickens. If the damage went all around the tree, the cambium layer that transports nutrients from roots to leaves would die, which would kill the tree. The biggest worry I'd have with leaving the bark the way it is on that tree is it would provide a friendly environment for insects, so I'd be tempted to remove any loose bark then paint the exposed area with tar or automotive undercoat.

Mine isn't quite that old (>5+ years), but with the exception of pulling cord a couple of times with the switch off to empty the pump so it can be stored dry and disconnecting the high-pressure hose and blowing it out with air in terms of how I care for it, it too has been reliable.

FWIW, it's a Simpson I got at Tractor Supply and I have been storing it inside over winter.

My power washer tells me to turn the water on, start the engine then engage the pump.

Talk about outbuilding adding value to the property for tax purposes, I have four , double garage, 8 years old, single garage 4 years old, a 12x16 that’s less than a year old and Ellen’s old 8x12. They valued the double at $28000 and marked no value on the others.

Thomas, please be careful. Loss of smell is harder to diagnose than loss of taste. Time is of the essence, to get the antibody injection, and keep the disease from taking a high toll. If you wait too long, it will be less effective or should I say longer healing time with longer symptom period.
Had both shots back in April now just waiting okay to get the booster.
Got Covid test today and came back negative...whew. :)

Not quite 2 hours on this beautiful day and that area is mowed.

The aroma of my simmering spaghetti sauce is driving me mad. Still another 3 hours before dinner.
